The Final Poll

Who Should Be The Next Mod?

  • The Crock

  • Dagger Dias

  • Coco The Monkey

Results are only viewable after voting.
Yes. Kind of. Sally's arguments were ridiculously weak, and if she was going to come in with that weak shit, she should expect to receive the type of reaction she got. She's a terrific poster, I don't think anyone can deny that, but she was out of her element when she decided to make that post.

Mozz and Jose had just as much right to make their comebacks as Sally had to throw her hat into the ring. You have every right to defend her as well, it's just not going so well because her opening post was dumb.

As you know, I'm rediculously selective in picking my battles. Most times, even if things are aimed at me, I skip past them.

Ands you're getting no argument from me that Jose and Mozz had every right to state their beliefs on Sally's position. You have every right to tell me that I chose the wrong battle. I disagree. Even if she didn't go into great detail, the gist of her argument was spot on, I believe, as I've already pointed out.

If ever there was a time that someone could accuse me of being blindly loyal, it would be towards Sally, and 3-4 others on this site. I'm fine with that.

If saying nothing of substance means disagreeing with the status quo, then you're correct.

She correctly pointed out how this election has turned into personal criticism of someone that has nothing to do with why people should be voting. However, people are entitled to vote on whatever criteria they choose. But why people vote and how they vote are two different things.

She also rightfully pointed out the flaws in this process, and she pointed out how she felt Crock and CoCo would make fine Mods, while pointing out how Dagger would be a better one.

But clearly, no substance there at all.

The bolded text makes me chuckle. If people are allowed to vote however they want for whatever reason they want, how are personal things "nothing to do with why people should be voting"? Me thinks you've got your foot in your mouth with this one.

Furthermore, no, she didn't really post anything of substance at all. She made her point about who she voted for, and took a swipe at other people for not voting Dagger or for airing their opinions why one should vote Dagger. Essentially she was just repeating the same shit we've heard for weeks. How is that anything of substance? How is that really adding anything that needed to be said? It's not. It's just looking to provoke a response (which she got) and trying to drag the same shit we've seen for weeks now into yet another thread.

You can defend her all you want; I get it, she's your e-friend and you want to stick up for her. I didn't even mean to single her out as if she was the only person I saw stirring up unnecessary bullshit (Mozz also is a part of that). If she seemed to think I was attacking her, she could have defended herself (as you said, she's a big girl, she doesn't need the help). Maybe the fact that she hasn't so far (which I attribute to the fact that I believe her to possess a reasonable amount of intelligence and wisdom, like I stated before) should tip you off that you are just looking for a fight here and that, like JGlass said, you should be picking your battles with a bit more insight than you have demonstrated here.

I voted for Coco. Sorry Crock.

My mouse was about to vote for you but my hand wouldn't let me click for some reason.

£20 says nobody goes near Tasty's post, even if equipped with an unusually long barge pole.

What is that, like $4?

I've got to admit, I'm surprised this election is as close as it is. Coco probably has this by a pretty safe lead, but it's only a 47/29/24 % difference right now. I think I expected it to be more like 60/35/5 %

Just wait until the guys in the ABC Party actually get out and vote. Then you'll see how close this thing is going to get. Still a couple of days to go, and I don't think is over yet, not by a long shot.

What the hell is this election thing you all are talking about?

Was my reaction.

I didnt need to be involved in all the other drivel...So, we are electing the next mod?

Well, Dagger was overbearing and proven to be a liar. Neither are behaviour I intend to reward with the desired result.

I like Crock. As of fairly recently.

Coco has probably been worthy of a spot for a long time. Maybe I have more faith in him than I should, but im always up for electing someone who isnt a kissass and would stand up for others.

there we go, easy.

I made a post at the beginning of this election stating how that this election would accomplish nothing beyond causing division over an issue that is completely insignificant. Reading this thread, I want to go to my kitchen, grab myself a glass of wine, and enjoy other people's sour grapes.

The only thing that's become clear over the course of this election is that none of the three candidates have any idea what the job is that they're competing for. Seems about 95% of the participants in the election too. Now there's a whole bunch of people pissy at each other over what got said while you schmucks were deciding who the next guy that gets to clean up spam posts is.

I feel like we've accomplished something here, in the way that a train wreck provides jobs for salvage teams, environmental officers, engineers, and morticians.

I voted based on the belief I felt each candidate thought they could be a good mod. Ultimately I voted Dagger with Crock closely behind and Coco the Monkey not even considered.

Even though this was just for a moderator position, I was under the impression that this election was supposed to be a somewhat legitimate process but it turned out to be a huge joke.

It does take awhile to get all those PMs out

Coco is going to stand up for people? The guy who has run a whole campaign solely on look at me I am Coco is in it for the little guy? The guy who gave at most one semi serious answer when questioned toughly by Sly is going to stand up to him and make a difference? Spare me the bs. A vote for Coco is a vote for an entertaining few days. Maybe that is the best this election has to offer but no need to distort the facts into suggesting Coco is going to make a serious impact of any kind.

Most of it has been discussed enough that it doesn't need any further input for people to make up their mind how they feel about it all. However, I will touch on the Crock vs Dagger aspect. Why would someone vote Dagger over Crock? It is interesting to me that we are supposed to believe Crock is better simply because Dagger didn't succeed when he tried. At least you know Dagger has the desire to do some of the stuff associated with the job. Maybe he needs to learn some more as he goes along but so would any of the candidates. Crock never even tried so I can see how people would not want to reward him for that. I have routinely heard how he is supposedly good at such things but in spite of being called out by myself, Sly and others he hasn't even tried to show it. This leads me to believe this idea that he is definitely better might not be as true as others seem to be convinced. Sounds to me more like they just like Crock better and are willing to overlook many of the negative similarities between him and Dagger because of it, while blindly forgiving his laziness.

It sure does, and when they all do get sent out, I expect the ABC guys to come out in droves, which should tighten the race significantly.

Of course, that only applies to Dagger. I'm sure there have been no PM's sent out by anyone trying to get support for Coco or Crock. I mean, Coco in particular is so busy standing up for the little guy, he's far too busy to PM anyone for support.

You guys do know you aren't being force to come into this part of the forum, right? If you don't like it then simply ignore it. If you want nothing to do with it then don't get involved. It's not that hard.

All I can think of is all those Anyone But Coco party members and how their devotion to the "cause" would have been better served had they not mutated that into devotion to the "nerd".

Crock and Dagger: Which one is Gore and which one is Nader?

Crock reports posts quite regularly. It hasn't been brought up because he knows the rules.

Crock posts across the forums, but in a thought out manner that actually elicits a response.

Crock gets on well with a lot of posters, as does Dagger, but Crock features much more on "favourite poster" type threads. I.e. people like him more.

I've never spoken to either Crock or Dagger directly on here before this election process, and my opinion is entirely professional. People can act like there's some conspiracy against Dagger, but there isn't. If Crock had behaved like him, he'd be getting the same response from me. Ditto Coco.
