Survivor 34 - Where Matrix At? The Queen is Back!

Is sandra getting the winner's edit? I'm terrible at spotting them but nobody else really seems to be getting one, the next closest is brad i think

I cannot believe JT found a way to ruin his reputation even more after he already decimated it with that loveletter in HvV.

Booom! And down goes the queen! Finally people smartened up and took her out! I'm so happy to see Sandra finally get her ego knocked down and I didn't see Zeke being the one to get her out, out of everybody there. I really thought Tai was gonna be an idiot and give her an idol to boot Ozzy but thankfully he did not. Zeke just became a favorite to win in my mind off that move alone, as long as he doesn't become all evil dictator again after the merge.

Speaking of Tai though, what the hell is up with him finding 2 more idols at camp!? I thought the new way of doing things was finding them at challenges, like Troyzan had to do earlier in the season? It doesn't make any sense why he had to get his that way but Tai can just magically stumble upon 3 in camp since then.

Debbie got extremely lucky to get sent to exile island, and now to be on the opposite tribe of Brad who would make sure she went next. I still give it 6 days max before she loses her mind again and makes the whole tribe want her gone. I do wonder if anybody would believe her if she told the truth about her exile trip, or if they would just think she really snapped. Also how did Cochran not get cast in this season? I would have cast him over Caleb in a game changers season anyday.

Pretty good episode and next week should be fun with chaos ensuing in one tribe, but I'm not sure why the other tribe all seem to randomly have a mental breakdown all at once.

It's a sad day indeed.

Still the GOAT. I think RHAP did a great job of breaking down why Sandra's run this season did so much to increase her legacy more than hurt it. She should never have survived 1 tribal council and yet she pulled off some Sandra magic multiple times. So highly respected and easily the best to ever play. Will not be surprised to see her play a fourth time for the Survivor Legends season that is surely to occur at some point bringing everyone back.

I've been spoiled though. Knew this was coming for weeks. The pre-merge bootlist is out there as is the final three. Which has a lot of people thinking that Sandra leaked spoilers this time, and during HvV because the entire bootlist for that season was online way before the season aired, and no post merge info is leaked. It's only up until Sandra is voted out, plus the pre-jury people after her which Sandra would know since they would go on the trip with her (for those that don't know, all the pre-jury people go on a trip around the area to pass the time. Get split into the groups for activities). Pre-jury and final three, I guess once they all join back up that knowledge would be passed around also so everyone would know the final 3. I stumbled into it by mistake. Heavy days.

Good episode although the post competition drama and tribal felt fake. Not scripted but still fake. Sad to see Sandra leave. She entertained to the end.

Pretty certain it's already been confirmed by precious players that the producers hint off screen to some players different things in order to spice up the game. Things different players said, where idols are.

It definitely seems odd how Tai has found 3 easy idols now

What players and what makes them so precious to you?

Lol damn autocorrect. Didn't mean to say precious.

Can't remember which ones but definitely remember seeing reports on it about how producers can basically manipulate the game to how they want it.

I mean I'm not dissing it I understand it's a TV show and they've gotta do it to keep it entertaining. All the reality tv shows do I'm sure.

The final challenge in Fans vs. Favourites was made for Cirie. You've got a nurse doing a don't let your hands shake challenge. It's funny because they screwed her by not doing a final 3 like everyone thought they were doing. Side note: That's one of the big reasons Parvati's win isn't as impressive and she's not as good as people believe. Her and Amanda took Cirie to the final 3 and thought it was the end. Idiots. I don't care who you are, ya not winning over Cirie in the end.

That final episode is definitely one where you can see the show push for Cirie but they end up screwing up. Should've let it be a final 3. Cirie would've won and all would be right with the world.

Edit: They try to lean the show sometimes but if it were truly rigged Russell Hantz would've won twice, Rob would've won All-Stars, Ozzy would have won South Pacific, Colby would've won Australia and all the big names wouldn't get booted before the merge in the All-Star seasons.

However, they did make it so in All-Stars, the first one, when they shuffle the tribes that the person could only grab the top buff from the urn looking thing. And apparently they were told where to stand and in what order. That would mean they made an active play in the game to shift Amber to the opposite side. Thank heavens, got rid of that prick Lex.

Edit 2: The news is that Brad and Sandra had the ole pre-game alliance going. Explains why he didn't send the votes for her at the "merged" tribal council. Knew I liked Brad.

Unfortunately, this controversy happening means that the spoilers I accidentally read a couple weeks ago are pretty much confirmed. This Varner/Zeke stuff was mentioned in those spoilers. The rest of the season's boots are also all spoiled for me, so I'll be gone until finale so I don't accidentally spoil anybody else.

Wow, I had heard the rumours about Varner's elimination being a major event. Varner absolutely fucked up. No reason to out somebody on national television. Really hard to watch.

Probst was absolutely shocked. He didn't even know what to say for a minute. Everybody was disgusted. The funny thing is I think most of the girls were actually voting for Ozzy and they were pretty pissed at Zeke. Varner might have ended up helping Zeke's game there.

I almost, almost felt bad for Varner. I think in this game you sort of lose the ability to think straight sometimes and you do things you'd never ever do. I've never been in that spot so I can't imagine. And it's no excuse because every person there was disgusted. And Varner has always been someone to do and say stupid shit. Not to mention that he had it in his head he was going to say that from way early in the day.

But I like to be empathetic to all parties, so I couldn't imagine what it would have been like sitting there with all those people despising you. With Jeff fucking Probst looking at you like gum on his shoe. Realising you just screwed up and did something so terrible to someone you liked and knowing you can't take it back. And then of course it ending up on TV.

But still, no excuse. That was just terrible. He's gonna live with that forever. And so is Zeke now because of his actions. Zeke though is a much stronger man (even being the one to comfort Varner in that situation after Varner humiliated HIM). And I imagine the support Zeke has gotten and will get now that it's aired will be so encouraging and life changing that hopefully Zeke will be sad confident and in love with himself as ever.

I started to have a moment where I thought Varner might actually be worth a crap. I felt bad that I had been judging him wrong for all these years. He quickly squashed that.

Crazy shit. Hali is the GOAT.

It just went from zero to 100 real quick, part hilarious part disgusting. It got wanky at the end, they should have just been your an asshole fuck off and been done with it. Instead we got this massive thing and everyone kinda tried to make it about themselves.

How many times as someone been eliminated without actually being voted out or pulled from the game? I can only remember Brandon Hantz getting that treatment

Brandin Hantz is the only one I can remember too. You have to be a real special kind of fucker to get that treatment

Apparently Varner just lost his job over this, by the way.

As for non tribal eliminations, Ian Rosenberger was eliminated at Palau's Final Immunity Challenge. After 11 hours of the final endurance challenge, he finally just said said he would jump off if Tom agreed NOT to take him to the final 2. So he jumped off and Tom voted him off right there in the middle of the water.

There are also people who eliminate themselves I guess. Like Sue Hawk who eliminated herself in All Stars after ranting at Probst, because of naked Hatch rubbing up against her the week before.

thats bullshit. I dont care if what he said wasnt right. That is a company pandering to a vocal minority. Varner made a mistake in the heat of the moment, if you believe his apology was sincere (i have no reason to believe it wasnt it) the guy he outed wasnt even mad at him (or he played the game really well) and so if he isnt outraged then why do others have the right to be outraged for him

I listened to Varner on RHAP and I thought he spoke about the situation really well. He took the blame and didn't piss about.

His whole thing was he had no clue who Zeke was since he was playing back to back. All he saw was Russell Hantz. Then when Varner figured everything out he thought that everyone would have already known. Not those on the tribe but in the world since there was no way Zeke could have played Survivor being trans and not have it be a major plot point. I get that. It's called Game Changers. I can see why Varner may have thought that Zeke was already 'out' so to speak since he had played a season before and maybe being trans was something that came up on the island so he was called a game changer. Hatch being gay was all over the edit in his first season. I can understand why Varner, who would have a mindset of early 2000's editing since that was when he played, would think Zeke being trans would have been a major focus just like being gay was for Richard Hatch.

Varner had never seen Zeke's season, this was filmed 10 months ago, nobody knew who Zeke was and Varner made the mistake of assuming that Zeke being trans was widespread knowledge.

I wonder if more people were extra cautious about Zeke. Since the season was called game changers and nobody saw his season, nobody knew how he earned his way onto the show.

I agree. As terrible as what Varner said was, he shouldn't lose his job over what happened on a TV show. Kind of a theme of the episode from the other tribe was how nobody quite understand back home what it was like being out there. You have no idea what's going through their mind. They haven't eaten, they're dehydrated and tired, and paranoid. It's the ultimate psychological experiment.

Although I don't agree that he should be fired, I understand why a real estate agency wouldn't keep him employed. That kind of exposure to the general public may make it harder for them to do business.
