Mr. Fincher, there are musicians in the world other than Trent Reznor. Mr. Reznor, there are tones other than foreboding. Otherwise, really rather good. Women frighten me all over again.

There's a cinema just off Leicester Square, the Prince Charles, with two screens - "upstairs" and "downstairs." I'll be there from quarter to nine tonight to quarter to nine tomorrow morning watching an Arnie marathon: Commando, The Running Man, Predator, Total Recall, The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. I've never before fallen asleep in a cinema. Jesus, what a stupid idea.

That's not even an Arnie line. Let off some steam, Butcher.

"Bunch of slack-jawed ******s around here"

Blaine is criminally under-quoted. Schwarzenegger is ballast a lot of times. Those guys chewing scenery around him deserve appreciation. Besides, you're gonna get your fill of Ahnold's one-liners. No need to start early.

Blaine is the best movie character of all time. Predator falls of a cliff when he dies.

I'm envious of you for going to that marathon. I'd sleep through all of them, just like I do with most of the films I go and see. But I'd be there and that's all that counts.

I didn't want to die because Running Man is bad - it's not - but because I was tired.

I tried sleeping during The Terminator but it was much too noisy. Don't know how you do it, Jakey.

TMNT is louder than any Transformer film and I got a good 30 minute nap in. If it is shit and you're tired you'll drift off. The need to see more Jesse Ventura stopped you getting a power nap.

Whether it's in a magazine,
Or on a list,
There's nary a film,
That will be missed.

On Earth or Venus,
Or on Mars,
I'll think of something that rhymes with,
This deserves four stars.

Can't think of anything that rhymes with "obvious allegory for postpartum depression." Good film though. Bit of a flat final third. Absorbing up until then.

I was hungover when I saw it. I still give it 4 stars. I'll insert it somewhere in the middle of that pile any day now.

Can't stop to chat, off to see Fury soon.

The first one looks like the sort of cover Radio TImes would have in a "wouldn't it be funny if The Doctor met a terminator" type cover.

Good news - The Exorcist is still good. Being drunk sort of ruins much of its effectiveness, mind you, but the same is probably true of most movies. Well, not Commando.

I just watched the first 2 episodes of the 'new' Battlestar Galactica on Netflix after realising I haven't watched anything on it over the last 2 months. (The American version of Netflix seems to be shit-hot but there's a lot of drek on the UK version)

Anyway, it may have been because I've been catching up the last season of Boardwalk Empire or getting up to speed on Walking Dead, but that was some mighty fine viewing. New Starbuck is a spunky little thing.

The first 3-4 episodes of the BG remake are about as good as TV sci gets.

"33" is one of my favourite episodes of any show.

Yeh I'm watching 33 just now. Really hope that Gaius sticks around as him having 'no. 6' talk to him is a nice touch.

Can't believe Boomer is a Cylon but I liked that Starbuck made a joke about her being one as she wasn't showing any signs of fatigue. Casual bit of camaraderie humour that you'd expect the characters to make and not some crazy paranoid finger-pointing.

The 100th film of the year should've been Alien. Instead it's likely to be Alexander and the Horrible, Awful day. Or some bollocks like that.

See Nighcrawler.

Too many four star films. Higher standards are clearly needed.

Nightcrawler more than likely has the most ill-fitting soundtrack of the year, though maybe that's the point - a horrendous bullshitter doing horrendous things accompanied by a hopeful, inspirational score. Jake Gyllenhaal's the man. Pity about Source Code.

I like Northern Soul's ambiguity. Then again, Pride wasn't very ambiguous and it was a much better film, so maybe there's a lesson there. Also, all the British actors are in it and they're all doing northern accents.

Time was that Neil Blomkamp was the next Paul Verhoeven. These days, I dunno:

Maybe.
