Long month. Long month.

It just ain't fun anymore.

Just finished watching Prisoners for the first time. I could tell that Jackman's character was going to snap but didn't think he'd snap as much as he did.

I've now decided that Gyllenhall is one of my favourite actors too and he was a better 'Loki' than Tom Hiddleston. Superb.

Prisoners was one of those movies that was described to me as "really good" by somebody who, as it would happen, had a different idea of "really good" than me. Me, I'd have described it as "pretty good," which is a whole different kettle of fish.

I'd talk more often about how I like Jake Gyllenhaal if his name wasn't so difficult to spell.

Allow me..

Say JAKE then,

Its close enough.

It just occured to me that her name could be a reference to how she shares Maggie Gyllenhaal's slightly wonky features. I've got a thing for women whose features are just a bit askew.

I liked it, I thought it was funny, I expected it to end up higher than mid-table. I really did. *beat, stares at camera*

I will be able to import it from the US before I can see it in a cinema over here because Disney likes to hold my hand over an open flame every now and then.

Turns out Paddington skews young. Really young. First time I've ever felt truly uncomfortable watching a children's film, like I have an ulterior motive to be there that even I'm not really aware of.

I probably would have loved Paddington if I was six. It's definitely aimed at that age range as well. Makes the subtext about xenophobes being *****... well, quite nice to see actually.

Dracula: Untold

Should have been called Poor Pacing: Untold

Besides that, I thought it was perfectly serviceable. Not sure why it got shit on so much in the press.

Seems like the sort of thing Jake might have seen on one of his cinematic odysseys. Me, reimaginings of Bram Stoker stories are really not my thing. See also: Van Helsing. See also also: Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, which at least features Gary Oldman hamming it up and Keanu Reeves doing the worst English accent outside of Birmingham.
