Raw 3/06/17: The Gift of Jackhammer

No, that wouldn't help. The younger set is into MMA. That's where they spend their money. Booking the big shows to them at the expense of the crowd who is actually watching would just dig a bigger hole.

So go with the old fans, old wrestlers and bad/nothing matches.

I mean, I know WWE loves to pimp out WCW but using their business model might not be the best idea.

The crowd that you're talking about is going to be there whether Goldberg and Lesnar is for the title or not. Owens and company need the belt way more than the old guys do but no, let's make sure they look like weaklings compared to the guys who are there because of a video game and then sit around wondering why no one is watching. It's basically saying "they're gone already so let's give up on them." That's rather stupid, much like Goldberg winning the title.

Rollins/Triple H segment, Jericho/Joe match, Braun and Roman still with Taker also having to show up. Gonna have to be a 15 minute overrun.

Unfortunately I missed the Lesnar/Goldberg segment. I see from the negative reaction here that it was probably awesome.

Goldberg starts a promo, cue CM Punk chants. Heyman comes out, cuts a typical Brock promo, then says Brock is actually here. Brock comes out and they go face to face. Goldberg eats an F5.

Goldberg started talking, got interrupted by CM Punk chants so Heyman came out and introduced Lesnar. Paul cut a 5 minute promo and Lesnar F-5'ed Goldberg. It was good enough.

Sounds like your typical lazy WWE writing. Then again, with guys like Goldberg (who is much better with a microphone in his hand than he was 20 years ago) and Lesnar, not much talking is required.

Old people have money. Young people do not.

I think they've pretty much decided something is going to happen. That's why they're talking about the "confrontation" instead of a match. Rollins may only be able to go for a few minutes.

I mean he will appear no doubt. But I can't imagine they'll put him in there less than 100%. If he goes in there and injures himself worse and he's rolling around the mat during Mania, that's a million times worse than them delaying this match again.

That's not quite true. My son works at a bank and the average age of his co workers is about 24-27, they have money. The kids are coming out of university with degrees and walking into jobs paying over 60k a year.

The kids that don't have money will use their parents.

That's why I stay away from dirt sheets as much as possible. It takes the fun out of wrestling when you know everything. Or when you're led to believe that you think you know everything.

The crushing student debt they come out of college with doesn't leave a lot of expendable cash.

I totally agree. But you can't help but notice how ambiguous all of these HHH/Rollins segments have been. Luckily I think in their case, the feud has enough build that if Rollins somehow gets cleared the week before Mania, it's a match that can be made and still have the backstory to support it.

What? More Emma promos? I was only kidding earlier when I said Emma would be the 4th in Evolution 2.0

Loved Graves "Ugh, not this again."
