[Official] 'John Cena is the Greatest' Fan Headquarters

WWE ratings haven't been high because the product has not really been that good, dude. Cena doesn't do the booking or the writing so you can't blame him for that. You can't blame him for the Benoit thing in 07. U can't blame him for Vince McMahon faking his death. You can't blame him for the horrible "bastard child" storyline. You can't blame Cena for the multiple injuries that occured during 2007. You can't blame Cena for the poorly built-up feuds with The Great Khali and Lashley (although the pay-per-view matches delivered)...You can't blame Cena for WWE telecasting episodes of RAW where less than one hour of the show is actual wrestling. You get the point.

Granted when a guy is the champion we tend to reflect the ratings off of him but that is truly an unfair assessment. Look at the ratings when Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were long-term champions, they were pretty low, but both "The Hitman" and "HBK" were great champions.

Drawing power in no way proves that someone is a good wrestler at all. And no i dont just look at his moves, i look at him consantly telling the same boring story every single match of overcoming the odds, his lame shakespearian promos, and his limited moveset. And as far as the ratings go they have been extremely inconsistant over the last few years with cena as champ, and im pretty sure that edges two week title reign back in the begining of '06 were some of the highest rated shows and segments that year.
 
Hey ortonchamp, are you talking about the "simulated sex scenes" with Lita? Or the cheap "insult the city and the fans to get Foley-style pop in reverse (heat, for the uneducated)" interviews? Or maybe the constant running into the crowd whenever Cena showed up?

Look, you don't have to like Cena. You really don't. In fact, he seems to revel in the fact that people don't. So boo your guts out. Just know that it's not going to change the fact that the guy's a good wrestler. No, he doesn't do high spots like other wrestlers (very often). Yes, his matches tend to be on the repetitive side at times. But what can you do with Snitsky and Khali and the other wastes of space that they were throwing at him?

And as far as Kurt Angle being better on the mic (can't remember who said it), have you ever heard his promos? The man stole a page out of Rock's book and speaks almost entirely in catchphrases!

I feel you dude. As soon as a Cena fan says "he's had good matches with the likes of Angle, HBK, Jericho, and Triple H", the haters say "Well he got carried in those matches.." You just can't win with these people!

Your hole post revolved around making excuses for why edge got higher ratings (and yes he got them by playing his role as a heel, as well as getting people interested in what he was gunna do next), then u went on to put cena down then trying to justify his flaws by saying hes only had the chance to fight snitsky and khali (i think he fought snitsky once, and i think ur forgetting about lashley, orton, and hbk), and then u went on to try and put down angles mic abilities by comparing him to one of if not the best ever on the mic in the rock.

Anyone else excited to see what havoc John Cena will unleash tonight on Raw? The best superstar in the world today back on Raw. I missed it last week, so this will be something to look forward to.

I take it you mean the tag team in ROH. In which case 'they are one of the best tag teams in ROH history with the longest tag tile reign'
 
Don't feel "dirty" about saying anything about Cena. This is not (of it should not) be a contest. There really is no right or wrong answer. Some people like him, some people don't.

With that said, this has been blown out of proportion and into a way to scap goat Cena for the problems in the WWE, IMO. Most of the guys on the roster are shitty "wrestlers". I can only think of a handful that could hold a candle to ROHs roster or the latter half of TNAs for that matter. Vince has always pushed the guys with the look and talk and Cena has both. Most importantly Cena, much like someone else, got over as a heel and Vince turned him. The fans loved Cena's raps and Vince just rolled with it, much the same way he did with STEVE AUSTIN! Sadly Cena has suffered from much worse of a writing team.

One last thing on my mind. Most "cena haters" as they call themselves, hate that all his matches are the same. He's the underdog and comes back to win. I agree its not creative, but can you HONESTLY blame HIM for that. He's didn't write the match he just executes it. I admit it is repetative, but to me he plays it well and it IS kind of his GIMMICK! It feels kind of like saying, "Damn Nick Dinsmore! When's he gonna stop being ******ed! I'm so sick of him that tard He sucks!"

This is clearly the best thread... particuliarly because all Cena smarks are intelligent fans.

SLY.. I am proud the be part of your group.. as Cena is my fav wrestler.

Cena next is gonna be the nxt WWE champ man.... u kno its coming!!!!!
