For someone who posts negative Cena sentiments quite regularly in the Pro-Cena live thread, this is quite a statement...
Practice what you preach Wes. To my knowledge this is my first visit to this thread, and I'm only doing it because you won't leave my thread.
i think this is the place to finally put my question to rest....
What the hell have all you ppl got against John Cena?!
i mean i am indifferent to the guy really, i like him because he has that sort of never give up attitude that we all should be having but i do agree that the WWE has over pushed him and should bring him out of the limelight for 1-2 years. PPL say he cant wrestle ... well can anyone of you honestly say that you can! Can anyone here say they would go out and on the road for 340-350 days a year to get the shit kicked out of them. PPl say his mike work is terrible .... Can you go out in front of thousands of ppl and talk! If the answer to one or both of those question is yes... you are a liar! JR said it in his blog that everyone has the right to choose who they cheer for and who they boo for and damn right but get a better reason to dislike the guy. Every report i have read from ppl who have met the guy have said that he is nicest person you could ever meet and is probably very approachable in the outside world with the real ppl. so i reiterate my previous question (sorry for rambling but i have a lot to get off my chest)

John Cena is successful, and the IWC hates those who are successful.
That's really all it amounts to.
Where was the hate for Austin, Rock, Michaels, Sting, Hogan, Foley etcc?
This arguement makes zero sense at all Sly. Those guys were never bashed/booed like Cena.

Rock was booed as a face. So was Michaels. There was no such thing as an IWC when Hogan was champion. Same with Sting.
But, look at them now. Batista? Triple H? John Cena? Yeah, all successful, all turned upon.
Meh, The IWC never bashes Hogan or Sting. That is what I meant.
Batista = Shit all around.
Triple H = Hated for being a power hungry prick but loved whenever he's heel by these morons. I like Trips but I don't like that he is an egotist prick.

To be honest when it comes to Cena I'm going to give him a chance now with his return. But I'm in two minds as to is it he will give us the same old in-ring shit now because he isn't at 100%, or tone down then when he gets better it will be the same old shit. I'm worried that Cena won't improve his game when he is fully back, if it turns out that way then I think I'll fall in the anti-Cena direction.
You don't have anything to worry about there, as I think both fans and haters alike would agree that John Cena has been improving his game since he first became champion.

But only for now. I think he is a fine man. He is a decent wrestler. He is over with a certain demographic. He pushes merchandise and he does what he is told. These all make great things to have in a champion.
HOWEVER.
I don't like any champion that is pushed that hard. I don't boo the successful, just the shoved down my throat types. I don't like any champion that has runs that are that long, period. And with the same endings to the matches.
At least the matches and Feuds that HHH during 2002-4 were relatively innovative and interesting. Instead of the same tired build up over and over again.
The bottom line is, you have to seriously take a look at your main face that is boo'd that bad. Faces have gotten boo'd before, but never that hard for that long.
Compare HHH, a heel that left the 2MPT with injury. He returned to a thundering ovation at a RAW showing. John Cena left as a face and returned to boos at a Pay Per View. That speaks volumes. Literally.
He needs to turn heel. That is his problem. He has been face for too god damned long. Give him a hard heel run, so that when he turns face, people will want it.
For right now, people are right. Wether you like him or not, you CANNOT argue that it is the same old shit and this win at the PPV was nothing more than an excuse to put "Royal Rumble Winner" on John's list of achievements, just cause every major champion has at some point.

I do not consider myself a member of the IWC and i like batista and am a huge fan of triple h, but cena still sucks

Mainly becuase i find their overall gimmick and persona much less boring. In batistas case though he does have a lot of title reigns he does not completely run the title picture like john cena does as he does lose on occasion unlike cena, and i dont watch smackdown as much as i do raw so that probably has a lot to do with it. When it comes to triple h i have simply been a fan of his since the beggining when i was a kid, and i enjoy his promos much more, and as much as triple h gets the rap for burying everyone he puts over more people than cena does.
I already talked about a lot of the differences i see between cena and triple h earlier in the forum. Sly, i know u just began posting in this forum but if u look back me and brian had a conversation about this earlier
Wasnt Batista in a bunch of title matches in 07? He lost so many in a row but he was still in the hunt... He was in the title scene a lot.

Yeah he was but that had to do with a lot of the injury problems that were occuring on smackdown, and he also lost a lot of those matches which helped enhance the careers of others, not just his own.
