*MERGED* [OFFICIAL] Daniel Bryan Danielson / Michael Cole Feud Discussion Thread

WOW! What a promo! While the actual words he said at first made little sense, the emotion behind them felt passionate and real. You could feel how pissed off he was with his booking and Cole's treatment of him. It leaned on the fourth wall and gave us something raw and interesting. Beating up Cole while yelling the same grievances we (the IWC) has with him was an incredible moment. I can't wait to see where this storyline goes.

Mark my words: Bryan Danielson is here to stay.

Of course Bryan Danielson's promo was good- in fact, it was great. Everyone knows my love for this man so I'm thrilled that the world is finally starting to see that he does have the "it" factor. Danielson is the complete package as he come with much more than just a hundred different submission holds. The man can talk. Period.

With that being said, I have to give just as much credit to the WWE for giving Danielson this oppotunity. As a huge fan of independent wrestling, I think this is the greatest WWE storyline ever. The WWE almost never recognizes that other wrestling companies ever exist, let alone recognize an individual's accomplishments outside of the WWE. They've done this with Danielson from the start. Hell, they even gave him the most generic name in the world in "Daniel Bryan" which was obviously the beginning of this angle. I'm loving the incorporation of Michael Cole (I wish I could've been the one to beat him up) as it adds another element to things.

I am completely in love with this angle so I'm trying to stay optimistic that the middle and the end will be just as innovative and effective as the start has been. Bryan Danielson is the perfect choice to work such an angle and I can only hope this means that there will be big things to come in the WWE for him.

Leaning on the 4th wall? Jeez, he all but tore it down. It's nice to see a Deadpool type gimmick in the E. I liked it and I know it was a work, but that's some sheer metafictional brilliance on the WWE's part, I mean scripted, sure, but who approves a script that basically just completely exposes the entire company, points fingers and makes very accurate accusations towards it. He all but looked in the camera and said "wrestling's fake, but I make it look good, too bad Vince MacMahon doesn't care about any of that."

Next time he appears I'd love to see him in the front row of Raw with a sign that says "Cena Sucks". Then, right before the main event (Cena vs. Blank Heel) "accidentally" show security confiscating it and Danielson making a scene.

As we just saw on NXT, the Bryan Danielson chronicle continues. And the crowd LOVED IT. I almost pissed myself when he punched The Miz right in the face. This is great. In my opinion, Bryan Danielson has yet again nullified anything else going on in the show. Discuss.

The segment was amazing. This show has been a way to get him over, and even when they had to shorten the season and change the story, it still worked brilliantly. The Danielson/Cole (w/Miz) storyline is just another great story the WWE has going on, and this may be because of my mega-markiness for Danielson, but I think it's THE best going on right now.

There is so much emotion and passion in both Cole and Danielson's words. You can really believe that they hate each other. Cole is playing his pussy character to a T, and Danielson is Danielson. He's getting more and more over, every week.

He's a made man, and I can't wait to see where this storyline goes.

That promo was simply epic. Cole was incredible on the mic and I didnt expect him to be that good. As for Danielson, he was incredible-er. Just like Doc said, they make everyone believe that they actually hate each other. It seems that the crowd really doesnt care about this show, but loves Danielson. He steals the show and every week I am left begging for next tuesday to come. Even if Wade Barrett wins, he will be completely overshadowed by Danielson, and as we have seen over the last few weeks, Danielson deserves to overshadow everyone. He is just doing everything right and a lot of credit goes to the writers who are doing a GREAT job of getting him super-over.

Bryan Danielson is becoming a star each week he interacts with cole, its only a matter of time before he's put on raw or smackdown. I would hope he goes to SD though because SD is not as Star Crowded as Raw

And let's not forget, this entire battle is honestly being fought on the mic. Bryan Danielson may very well be the best technical wrestler right now, but what has been getting him over the last couple weeks has been purely dialogue (and a couple kicks to Cole's head). They're successfully proving that Danielson has just as much charisma as anyone else on this show or any show. Just wait until he actually gets in a match with someone who can work at his wrestling ability. I can already see an epic encounter with the likes of John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler and Danielson vs. Kofi would be downright epic.

Awesome segment between the two of them yesterday, absolutely loved the whole thing, I'm actually liking Michael Cole (on NXT to say the least) and their feud together is absolutely golden material.

I'm excited, and I mean really excited to see what they'll dish forth for the crowd next week, perhaps a submission hold on Cole, to at least prove that he wasn't the only one tapping out during NXT.

This angle is actually the most interesting to me in the entire WWE right now. It's been slowly built up from Day One where Cole has taken a disliking to Daniel Bryan. He's played it up beautifully, with his hatred towards Bryan escalating each week. And now, it's coming to a head, with the peak coming last night when Cole cut a really good promo on Daniel Bryan. I had no idea where that came from, and how he managed to get the timing down of being a weaselly heel after he hit him with the mic, but out of nowhere, he's becoming a damn good heel. I think it's also amazing on Cole's part that's he's a much better heel that most of the heels in the company. You want to see him get his comeuppance. He's slowly turning into the male version of Vickie Guerrero, where he's just hated, period.

The interaction between these two has been phenomenal in the past couple of weeks. And this is getting him over even more surprisingly than his humiliation from The Miz. Soon enough, I think that both storylines are going to intersect with each other, with Cole and Miz going out of their way to drive Daniel Bryan away from the WWE and back to the Indies for good. The way I think this should end is with Daniel Bryan squaring off against The Miz for a WWE Contract, and going old school, where if Bryan wins, he gets five minutes with Michael Cole.

I couldn't agree more.

I think we're all in the midst of witnessing another present by the WWE... they're turning Cole into a full-fledged heel. I think they're trying it out on the second-rate NXT show, testing the waters, and seeing if it floats. So far, it's been doing great, so I'd be safe to assume that this persona will stick around for a while. After all, you all seem to loathe Michael Cole. It was only natural for the WWE to turn him heel. Matter of fact, with the impressive promo skills that he showed on NXT last night, I wouldn't doubt if he got more involved in storylines to come. I can almost see a Miz/Cole pairing in the near future to rise against Daniel Bryan Danielson. but, only time will tell.

Kudos to Cole, though. Masterful mic work last night.

Ok...so it's a given that I'm thrilled with the performance of Danielson. He's proving to the skeptics that he is much more than just a guy that knows a bunch of submission holds. However, I do have to give credit where credit is due- Michael Cole has been amazing through this whole thing. He made me hate with the constant Danielson bashing over the past few months, which was obviously the whole point. Cole couldn't be any better than he is right now.

Watching Danielson beat down Michael Hole and The Jiz made him even better in my book. It's also interesting to note that this angle is hot but the show ends next week. It may be the best angle in all of wrestling right now.

I agree with you! There's no other angle in wrestling today that's garnered so much attention from all over the 'net. You don't see the boards going crazy over Batista quitting, the Matt Hardy/Drew MacIntyre feud, or...well...(I was going to name an angle in TNA but couldn't think of anything noteworthy)...you get the picture.

At any rate, I also think this is the WWE's subtle way of saying, "We see and hear you, oh wrestling die-hards on the internet and we're ready to listen." I think they've finally listened to the armchair bookers and are ready to make a move on something that'll once again put them at another level.

I am betting on this.

To be honest, if I were a betting man, here's how I see NXT ending:

1. Gabriel/Otunga gets eliminated immediately.
2. Daniel Bryan and Michael Cole have a confrontation.
3. Bret Hart and/or Teddy Long jumps in - says that they don't care what WWE Management says, they think Bryan is awesome, and re-instate him.
4. Other of Gabriel/Otunga gets eliminated...leading to...
5. Daniel Bryan wins NXT by beating Wade Barrett clean.

The fallout from this would be tremendous. I think we're about to see a re-formation of the Hart Foundation somehow, and I have a feeling Daniel Bryan will be a part of it. It would be a perfect ending.

I really hope ICTimer is right. That would be the perfect ending to NXT. I would love to see DB come back and beat Barrett for the win. However, if he comes back tonight, I don't think he's gonna beat up Michael Cole again. If he were to harm Cole, he'd most likely be escorted off by security.
