*MERGED* [OFFICIAL] Daniel Bryan Danielson / Michael Cole Feud Discussion Thread

As I stated before , Vince really knows how to make a hero out of Danielson.

If he doesn't have the look , He has one thing that Vince kinda need it : IWC's Support.

We know that IWC is not that much an important factor in Vince's mind , But When he has someone who is an Internet darling , why not use him?

He said exactly what i read on this forum everyday. He said Vince likes Big guys and prefers good-looking guys rather than good wrestlers. He kicks Cole ass so most of mark out.

As i said before , Danielson is Vince's weapon to satisfy IWC smarks.

It was an excellent segment. Danielson showed some emotion and some passion on the stick. I really think that's what people want to see. Even though it's a work, it's supposed to be a "reality show". That was about as close to real as it's going to get. Very well done by WWE, Danielson, and especially Cole for selling it. The whole Cole/Danielson angle is Michael Cole's best work in years.

Last night, NXT finally hooked me with the Bryan Danielson/Michael Cole angle coming to a head. As I watched in bed, I couldn't wait to wake up in the morning and read everyone else's view on it.

This is a great angle. When NXT started, Danielson had a nervous grin on his face when giving promos, almost like it was a complete joke to him. Last night, we saw his character reach his breaking point and finally fight back. He had that passion that so people often talk about wrestlers lacking today. He didn't pull any punches and reverted back to the Danielson of ROH. His calling out of the Miz sets up great possibilities for the future.

Danielson's attack on Cole is going to be a long term benefit. It, allows Danielson the opportunity to be taken seriously. No major players in wrestling take the verbal abuse handed out by Cole, week after week, without some sort of retribution. Major heels often opt for sneak attacks and underhanded tactics, while the faces opt for face to face confrontations and an "I'll back it up" mentality.

Last night's NXT opens up the door for a lot of possibilities. Danielson can continue his push for respect and stardom while continuing to go after Cole. Cole now has the chance to be the heel announcer that RAW really needs.

I am really hooked. I want to see this go somewhere.

It was clearly some real heat between Micheal Cole and Daniel Bryan. Every since the NXT show started Micheal Cole has been hating on Daniel Bryan. Well Micheal Cole you got your @ss whipped last night for opening your mouth and spitting out the hateful poision he was speaking. As far as I am concerned he shouldn't have been on that show as a rookie. He is far more talented then the rest of those rookies and he has 10 yrs of experience on them included The Miz his mentor. So when the WWE brings back Bryan Danielson, Micheal Cole watch you back because next time he won't be so nice...

That promo was incredible. Danielson and Cole acted their parts so good. When Cole walked away from the announcer's table with that pissed look on his face, it really kicked in. He played his part so good and it really helped Danielson get over more. Danielson was the most over of all the NXT rookies, but that wasnt saying much. By going after Cole, his over-ness almost quadrupled. I cant wait to see where this goes.

Over the last 2 or 3 weeks, the show has really kicked up the realness of it. Some of the recent promos and the video packages seem like shoots and this one just kept the real feel going.

I'm not so sure there is real heat between the two, i mean think about it, Micheal Cole is te internet guy for WWE, he writes most the articles and helps set the site up (or at least used to, im not so sure now) and Bryan Daniellson is 'the internet darling' if anything Cole is his biggest fan and probably a good part of the reason he's there. So i think the whole process including what happened last night has been worked out in advance and they're actually on brilliant terms

It didn't look like he really got him to me. I think in the first 2 or 3 weeks it was legit heat, but then Vince liked the dynamic, perhaps someone got wind of how much heat it was getting from the IWC, so he asked them to kick it up to the max. The commentary got to the point it was clearly a work as he buried EVERYTHING he did and threw logic out of the window (I know, in a wrestling show, shock horror).

And Cole's interruptions of his promo last night would be punished if it was legit. They're told to shut the hell up when wrestlers or ring-announcers are talking, we know this, so Cole was clearly instructed to play up their heat one last time before Dragon struck.

I'd imagine by this point the two have conversed a few times backstage and settled whatever differences they had. I don't doubt each has a chip on their shoulder and aren't exactly buddies, but I also doubt that Cole hates him.

Re-watch the episode where Dragon got eliminated and listen to Cole's commentary. He was a little bit sad that he was leaving, perhaps because he thought their rivalry was one of the key parts of the show each week, perhaps because he knew that he was one of the best guys on the show, who knows, but he was decidedly down-hearted over it. And when you watch his match vs Batista, Cole let up on him.

This promo by DB was really good, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time i was watching it. It even had me believing that what he was saying was true. Obviously the weekly rants by Cole would get to anyone, but i didnt know DB had such mic skill in him. He basically said what is on the minds of all the posters in the IWC forums, which i was amazed that Vince would let happen. He even mentioned the fact that Cole has been crammed down our throats a JRs replacement which i found myself marking out for. Overall though the segment played out brilliantly, and they both sold it well, correct me if im wrong but i think i saw a red shoe mark on Coles cheek from one of the kicks delievered by DB.

I dont think he should be re-instated on NXT though, he got eliminated and they should stick by that, he should debut on either Raw or SD as Bryan Danielson instead. Anyway this segement alone has got me lookin forward to next weeks NXT broadcast to see what happens next.

I know it's already been said but the Danielson promo last night was fanfuckingtastic. It's easy to believe that there's genuine heat between Cole and Danielson, which only means that they're both performing their characters to perfection. If you think about it, the WWE has a very interesting dynamic going on with Cole and Danielson.

Bryan Danielson has said he's one of the best wrestlers in the world, an opinion shared by many interent fans. While he's shown some good in-ring ability on NXT, he hasn't shown nearly what's been boasted about him. And, as part of the whole angle, Cole has consistently pointed that out during Danielson's matches on NXT. So, on one hand, you have an interent darling that's praised by his fans, and he is good, and on the other he doesn't look nearly as good to your average fan. So, the whole story is set up that Danielson has some good points but, then again, so does Cole based on what Danielson has shown in the ring thus far.

So no, Bryan Danielson won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I thought it was a nice surprise to have him out there last night anyhow and I won't be at all surprised to see some big things out of him in the WWE in the near future.

no wrong guy thats the voice of ecw Joey Styles, and i am still going crazy about what happend last night. It was crazy as all hell to see micheal cole get destroyed, or just in a face lock but still amazing
I also said in another Thread that their was going to be a huge fued of Bret Hart/hart dynasty/Brian danielson vs. Chris Jericho/the miz/miceal cole. Its going to be a cluster fuck but a great cluster fuck

Ok...I am not sureif any of you picked this up during his promo but i did.

When he said that he was better then Jericho Jericho sat there smugly staying in character. Which reminds me of WCW's Jericho/Malinko feud, that delivered one the classic Jericho promos listing off, Submission moves and every so often yelling out "Armbar".

Anyways, Danielson said he was better than Regal. Regal smiled and nodded his head. A respectful gesture to Danielson who regal helped train. Danielson said in an interview about his maroon shorts that when Regal was coming back to TV, he was going with a new look, and had new ring gear so he gave danielson the maroon one. I also find it funny he was trying to speak during Bd's promo with the miz, and couldn't get a word in.

Speaking of miz, when they did the far shot to see all of the pros CM Punk does a Subway 5 dollar footlong pose. when Danielson said he was better then Miz, and Punk said something to Regal with his comment.

But this all might be a work, but WWE is picking up on it. They kept CM Punk with his name, should have kept sydal's name, and now are running wild with this thing. The best in the world will soon be the best in WWE.

Also out of all the pros he was with the miz, when Danielson should be a pro. (IMO) Lets just hope they don't drop the ball and make him a Malenko in the WWE...that was wrong.

Registered on the forums just to reply to this.

I was wondering if anyone else caught that bit. I saw it last night and just busted out laughing seeing the look on Punk's face. I had to rewind the DVR just to see it again and just as funny the second time. What CM Punk said was "By Alot" to Regal after tapping him on the shoulder. Love him or not, Punk nodding emphatically to the comments from Danielson was comic gold to me.

And I did love Regal's comment getting covered up when he tried to say, "No Really, Really, Miz, Miz, Miz, He's better than you." Probably one of the best promos I've seen on the E in a very long time.

As for the actual heat between Cole and Danielson, it's obviously a work but I'm happy with this work, it's about damn time someone took the boot to Cole, even if it was scripted.

Actually, his words were, "Chris Jericho, you know how good I am. William Regal, you know how good I am." I don't think he was saying that he was better than those particular pros, he just wanted them to acknowledge the fact that BD is far more skillful than the WWE Universe realizes.

And Regal was actually able to get a word in, which I found pretty funny. While The Miz was saying, "You're better than me? You're better than me?!?", Regal quickly chimed in with, "Miz, he IS better than you."

At any rate, I thought that the WWE just went from predictable to absolutely brilliant with this swerve! We all kind of thought that Bret was going to show up with BD on Raw, but teased us. After that, I think we all collectively thought, "Oh no...another one's getting buried." But come Tuesday night, WWE NXT let us know why they're the giant in the business. Who would've thought that BD would cut a promo so shoot-like and so against what we THOUGHT WWE would've done? As much as we talk about BD kicking Cole's head in, how many of us really thought that he would actually go and do it? Not a lot, I bet! I think the WWE has really put in a lot of thought into this one because there's so many subtle nuances about this that just makes me think that they really want this one to work.

Considering I actually thought it was real for a second, I'd say it was one of the best things I've seen from WWE in a very, very long time. The whole promo, all of it, was extremely good, except for the money part, I didn't get that, but him just going off on everyone and telling Miz he was better than him and seeing Punk and Regal agree while Miz protested made my night. Well that, and when Punk was talking about Otunga. "He wears sunglasses inside...sigh." But back on topic, I think Danielson did a great job of telling it how we see it and how it really is was fantabulous, and I'm hoping he gets a job back on the show for that or somewhere in WWE, because he showed he can cut a promo, and a damn good one at that.

I was really surprised because Cole was saying nothing but good things about Danielson last week when he was eliminated so I thought the angle was over. Sure enough though, as soon as Bryan began to speak Cole was badmouthing him. I wasn't shocked that Danielson called Cole out, but to actually attack him was something I never thought I would see. Seeing Cole attacked no matter how scripted it was, was awesome.

I think the majority of wrestling fans have been waiting 10 years just to see Cole being put in his place. I'm curious as to where this angle goes with Danielson since obviously he can't wrestle announcers. Maybe The Miz will stick up for Cole and vice versa. Cole could actually be a good heel if this plays out right. I'm just happy to finally see an entertaining episode of NXT for once, and to also see Dainelson or Daniel Bryan with some attitude.

OMG THAT PROMO WAS AWESOME! It was so hard to belive that it was fake when danielson said how vince only likes big guys (noting the expression on matt strikers face) and saying how he knows the bad politics backstage. People have said he doesn't really have a personality and he needs work on the mic, honestly i've never had a a problem with any of that from danielson, this segment was a prime example of it.
Also Micheal Cole's selling of it was pretty good too, how he was still angry going on after the segment and leaving the announcers table in the middle of slater vs gabriel [i belive that was the match] to go backstage to complain or w/e.
We have not seen the last of Brian Danielson :)

The promo last night was pretty epic and overall the show itself was entertaining. Danielsons promo was exactly what his character needed and could be a great turning point for him getting over as a legit WWE superstar. The passion and excitement with the promo and altercation really reminded me of when Stone Cold was peaking in popularity and his in ring altercation with Vince when Vince told him he had to be suspended because of his broken neck. Austin claimed to be the best in the industry and was pissed that Vince wouldnt allow him to continue wrestling. Danielson showed that same fire and intensity in his promo last night and it really got him over. I hope they continue with this on Raw or Smackdown and allow him to start showing why he is potentially the best in the ring.

That aside I really wish he had called out CM Punk as well when stating that Regal and Jericho know how good he is. It would have been cool for IWC and Indy fans to have him call out to Punk that he should know better than anyone just how good he is.

Yea, the absolute best part of the whole thing was when Regal and Punk almost instinctively nodded in agreement --Punk even laughing to himself-- when Bryan said he was better than The Miz. If Daniel would've been quite for a moment Regal would have even helped the promo along and stuck up for Bryan a bit.

Pretty Good? No it wasn't "Pretty Good", it was awesome. His words are still ringing throughout my head. I loved the fact that he called Cole a "Poor Man's version of J.R." People say that Bryan has no charisma, and no promo skills, but to me, that one of the best promos I've seen so far in 2010. It actually made me be sit on the edge of my seat, wondering what he was going to to next. Was he going to cool down or was he going to explode on everyone? Were we seeing a heel turn, or is he legitimately angry? Very few promos have made me do that, and I've been watch wrestling for many years.

Interesting to see where this Bryan/Cole storyline goes.

What I would have loved to have seen is if Danielson straight up interrupted Striker and said, "Hey I'm eliminated, call me by my real name, Brian Danielson." That would have been awesome.

But a money promo like that automatically means Bryan is gonna be back in WWE soon. I bet that was the highest rated segment of that episode.

I just finished watching NXT, and I must say that I haven't marked that hard for anything involving Michael Cole since his last beatdown by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Anyone saying that Danielson can't cut a promo needs to sit their ass down somewhere. Not only was Bryan's promo the highlight of the night, it was probably the best promo I've seen this year, TNA included. He pretty much said what the IWC has been thinking/saying for years and he sold his anger so convincingly, I thought they'd cut his mic at any moment.

I hate Michael Cole, but he's been brilliant in this little feud he's having with Bryan, and he sold his anger very well last night. The whole feud was a great idea by the WWE; take a IWC darling in Danielson and put him against one of the most hated men in the IWC in Michael Cole. The "poor man's JR" comment was especially satisfying.

Also, I loved Punk's and Regal's reaction to Danielson saying that he was better than the Miz. Especially Regal:"Miz, Miz he IS better than you". I can't wait to see what happens with Bryan next.

Don't know if anyone else thought of this but.....

That promo of Danielson's reminded me of one promo that skyrocketed the career of one other wrestler, who some people said didnt have "it"....

Stone Cold Steve Austin's Austin 3:16 promo, when he won King of the Ring

It had that same kind of attitude of showing us that what you saw, was just the beginning of what could be one of the greatest superstars in WWE history...

Here's hoping that Vince doesnt just go and mess this up, let him have a run with his character, just like Austin had with his.

Best angle that happened in NXT, should have been like this from the start. Semi Reality based stuff is what will make the WWE better again. They need to listen to what the fans really want and play on them..Shake up Cena's hokey Orange shirt-ball cap character..Gave Kane a final push possibly masked..Use Regal as an authority figure..Take Christian seriously as a main eventer. Many other good suggestions that the majority want they should listen to bring up WWE and wrestling in general again..Everything is always almost predictable and cookie cutter boring majority of the times in the last 5 years or so. I remember Carlito cutting a promo like this about Cena a few months ago but it never went anywhere. Miz and MVP had a good angle and promos too involving their real pasts which was good tv but they cut its legs out very short. I think the next evolution in WWE is to incorporate more of a reality to it.

It was definitely a great promo but some of you are overrating the fuck out of it. The whole IWC/indy star thing is a perfectly set up storyline for Danielson and because of that his promos are going to get the IWC's panties in a bunch no matter how good he cuts them. Not taking anything away from Danielson's promo because regardless of the subject matter it was still a great delivery and very well done.

I also thought Tarver's promo before that was very good as well and obviously got overlooked. To me Tarver has been the best talker on the show from day one.
