Let's play "Name those NFL Stats".

I feel worse for Sanchez than I do for Tebow. They've been treating him like a rookie throughout his entire career and this year, he had no viable weapons and a dumber than shit Offensive Coordinator.

The reason Tebow is not starting is because if he goes out there and wins these next 2 games, then Rex and the Jets will look like absolute morons for not putting him in there sooner like they should have.

Hopefully Josh McDaniels gets a Head Coach position next year (preferably Kansas City or Arizona). If not, then I don't see Tebow getting another opportunity at QB in the league for quite some time, and that's a damn shame.

He's not starting because he's not good enough, and he doesn't understand the offense. Jet players have stated this in interviews.

McElroy does understand the offense. Plus, when he did get to play, he was effective. Hence, he gets the shot.

The Jets players are assholes.

And if that was the case, then why has McElroy been inactive when Tim's been healthy? If Tebow really didn't get the offense (like there's anything to really "get" in Sparano's stupid ass offense to begin with), then why has Tebow been Sanchez's back-up all this time and not McElroy? That makes no sense.

Give Tebow a shot. That's the funny thing, nobody has given him a legitimate chance to run a regular offense. Can't be worse than Sanchez. Whether he can or not, give him a shot and it is fly or fall.

Most professional football players are assholes. Doesn't make them any less honest in their opinion.

Because Tebow makes far more money than McElroy. Cash rules the game.

Tim Tebow is below average at absolute best. I don't understand why people like you are deluded into thinking he's any good.

I know what you'll come back with. "But he took Denver to the playoffs!".

Doesn't mean anything. Rex Grossman took the Bears to the Super Bowl a few years back. Led a handful of fourth quarter comebacks along the way, too. I don't hear folks clamoring for him to start in Washington. And he actually understands the NFL game.

But I get it. He's not a zealot so people don't care.

You know who is not an asshole?

Tim Tebow. :)

I think you are thinking about a completely different Rex Grossman. The Rex Grossman I know managed to go into the Superbowl without being able to handle a snap from the center without fumbling it. McNabb had no idea the NFL had draws, yet he seemed to have a decent career in Philly before they decided they can move on without him. (good move to as he hit a downfall)

It's funny. Tebow has won in his college and pro career but because he is "less than average" at QB, nobody should give him a chance to sink or swim.

That you know of. None of us know him personally. He might be an awesome dude or he might be a pile of shit, but there's got to be some reason none of the Jets seem to like him.

Lol. Fair point. Rex understands the game, he's just not that good at actually implementing it. He would make the right read then sail the ball right over the receiver's head to the safety.

Yes it does since the cowards who spoke out about it did so anonymously.

What I believe is that Sparano tried working more option stuff into the offense (we know the Jets practiced it) and it was the Jets players who couldn't grasp it, or that they simply didn't want to. That sounds more believable than Tebow not understanding how to hand the ball off two times and then run a pass play on 3rd down like the Jets do virtually every series. There was NOTHING complicated about the Jets offense this year. Nothing.

Because Tebow makes far more money than McElroy. Cash rules the game.

Uhh... if he didn't understand the offense, then McElroy would have been 2nd string all along. And if it's only about money, then Tebow would be starting this week since he would bring the $$$ in and it would give him a chance to actually earn his paycheck.

Tim Tebow is below average at absolute best. I don't understand why people like you are deluded into thinking he's any good.

Tebow's the greatest collegiate player in the history of football, so of course he's "good." I feel like if he was given the opportunity to have an offense personnel and playbook built around his strengths that he would be successful in this league. Does he have the talent to be a standard NFL QB and be successful? Most likely not, but with some creativity and imagination, he would make things happen for you on that field, no doubt about it. Denver wouldn't take the handcuffs off Tebow until the final 5 minutes of every game last year and look how Tebow would become an entirely different player on that field. Give him a chance to play like that every series and I think he'd consistently make great things happen for you.

I can easily rattle off at least 5 organizations who have jackshit to lose by taking a chance on Tebow next year. But if they do take that chance, they can't do it half-assed; they will have to go all the way with it.

His positive attitude probably annoys the shit out of them. I mean do you really like a person that is happy and positive all the time?

It didn't bother the Broncos' players.

The Jets are simply a team filled with cowards and assholes. Fuck 'em. I seriously wish that organization the worst.

Joking, man. Have I been gone that long that you can't tell my humor anymore? Sad panda. :(

And of course, the Jets are not the best kind of people.

To put it in wrestling terms, it's like saying Big Show isn't a good wrestler because he doesn't get on the mat and chain wrestle like Bret Hart and William Regal. What Big Show can do though is use his natural gifts to do stuff most guys can't. While he may not be good at one thing, he can do stuff that other wrestlers can't.

Just because Tebow isn't a standard pocket passer doesn't mean he doesn't have a lot of skill that could be used successfully. His skills were used before and the Broncos went from 1-4 to the second round of the playoffs. He lead his teams to wins at Florida and he lead his team to wins in Denver. Quarterbacks get credit or blame for things they shouldn't all the time and Tebow is no exception. Was he the only reason the Broncos turned it around last year? Of course not, but to suggest he was just a warm body there is ridiculous.

Kansas City I feel could be a good fit with a run oriented offense with Charles and Hillis, especially if Bowe's out of town (as expected).

I wish a team would go all out on a Tebow centric offense, but the odds of that happening are about as high as Tebow getting a start this year.

A few things to point out:

1. Let's not forget that Denver last year completely revamped their offense and scheme from both a play calling and personnel stand point to cater to Tebow's strengths. The Broncos have a great offensive mind in Mike McCoy who was a former quarterback and did a lot to make that offense work. Tony Sparano (the current Jets O Coordinator) was never an offensive coordinator at the NFL level until this season, spending most of his career coaching the O Line and tight ends before becoming the Dolphins head coach.

2. Even with the new scheme, teams started to discover ways to stop that Broncos offense as the season progressed. There's a reason gimmick offenses have a short shelf life in the NFL. In his last four regular season games last year Tebow was 51-113 (45% completion) for 675 yards, 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

3. In terms of Rex Ryan's job security, this is a "what have you done for me lately" league. Lately the Jets have missed the postseason two years in a row and it's starting to look like players are getting tired of Rex's act.

4. At this point Tebow is a better option then Sanchez and may be a better option then McElroy but it's clear that he has no future with the Jets which is why they are starting McElroy these last two games to see if he is someone worth retaining.

Yeah, but this is a passing league. Linebackers and defensive lineman are bigger, stronger, and more athletic than ever, and chasing down Tim Tebow won't be hard for them once he's in the open field. The reason Tim Tebow's offense worked in Denver is because it was created halfway through the season and no defense really knew what to expect. Now that they do, defensive coordinators that see that they're playing Tim Tebow's team will devise a defensive scheme the moment they see that game on the schedule.

People keep making this Tim Tebow not starting for the Jets thing out to be some sort of huge scandal. Has it ever donned on anyone that the Jets aren't starting Tim Tebow because he's not able to do anything in practice? If he's not successfully leading the offense in practice, why should he get the chance to do it in a game?

I'm sorry, wasn't your organization the one that was playing players to intentionally injure other players?

Indeed it is a passing league, and last year Tebow lead his team to a playoff win over a pocket passer who has won Super Bowls in the last few years. It can work, but no coach will let him have a long term shot at it for whatever reason.
