IMPACT Wrestling for 08.01.13 is from Wichita, Texas! Who is #August1Warning?

Agree.

What!!! Wrestling matches which actually bear meaning in standings towards a title match!!

By god, the two of us must be biblical-aged to appreciate such things.

The best part about the BFG series is not only is it a tournament with meaningful (and some very good) matches, but its length allows feuds to develop and continue at the same time.

What's to be disappointed about with Ortiz, assuming it's him? TNA gets to cross-promote with Bellator, and they bring in another MMA star with major name recognition. Gets people talking about the product, and most of all, means the TNA/IW name likely gets dropped on networks like ESPN and SportsCenter.

I have no strong feelings either way on Ortiz since I don't really know who he is. If he does stuff then I'm all up for it, if he doesn't then I'm not keen but whatever. That's assuming that it's him of course.

Short version: I watch wrestling shows for wrestling, not MMA cross promotion.

Yeah but so far the MMA guys haven't led anywhere inside of TNA.

In the past they worked out fine. Trigg played a fine role for a period of time, and Shamrock was big in year one. Even Lashley wasn't horrible when they had him. The only guy they shot their load with too early was Mo.

That's fine, but wrestling hasn't been about wrestling (exclusively) since around 1985. McMahon made it a spectacle. Everyone ran with it. That's how you ended up with Rodman and Malone, Tyson, LT, etc.

True, but there's a difference between building to a wrestling match and building to an MMA fight, which is why Ortiz would be there, leading to endless talk of their upcoming fight.

You're an idiot.

I know your TNA Dave N Busters checks keep rolling in, but he is allowed to be disappointed. How many times does TNA's big surprises get to end up being nothing that will effect the week to week quality of the show?

Gimmie Orton or Mysterio or someone.
