SIDEQUESTS BEFORE ZOZO

You can go through the cave to South Figaro. The town of South Figaro itself is unavailable to you, soldiers block the entrance. You can go back up Mt Kolts if you want though. At the Returner's Hideout the guys there ask about Banon. Shadow, if with you, (who can be temporarily recruited in Kohlingen) will leave if you try to enter Narshe. You can ride the raft again through the Lete River, this time there is no Ultros fight and you automatically end up where Sabin's Scenario began. The crazy old man is still there, thinking you're either the clock maker (and the same string of repairmen from when Sabin was there initially) or the door repairman. No Imperial Camp, you just walk right past it on the world map. You cannot enter Doma, soldiers tell you it is off limits. The Phantom Forest is the same but there is no train you end up on the world map on the other side if you enter where the train was. No piranhas or rizopas if you jump down the waterfall and if Shadow is with you he jumps this time. Now you're back on the Veldt and if Gau is with you, then you can take the time to learn some more Rages. This is very likely the main reason this path is available to you at this time, to learn Rages. It serves no real purpose to go back through all of that again otherwise. If Gau has Stray Cat then you really do not need any other Rages. It is possible to avoid the Phantom Forest and Serpent Trench if you simply had gone south of the crazy old man's house around the mountains, in a path that is now no longer blocked by mountains to Nikeah. That wasn't there before. Board the ferry in Nikeah to get to South Figaro. A weird scene plays out when you do. The soldiers are still around so the sailors put you into a treasure chest and move you to the town exit in that.... and then you're back outside of South Figaro which still cannot be entered. Shadow never leaves on the main map screen during any of that if you brought him with you. That was a fun diversion, huh?

If you bring Edgar to Figaro at this point but not Sabin then enter the main outdoor courtyard, Edgar will wish that Sabin was there. If you bring Sabin he runs off to explore, then comes back if you leave the castle. You cannot leave while Sabin is exploring. Guards show up at both of the staircases suggesting you go rest. If you brought both Edgar and Sabin then allow Sabin to run off into the castle but then go rest at the sleeping area in the room to the left of where you came out. A scene plays out where Edgar and Sabin talk in the throne room. Sabin now no longer wanders off when you enter the courtyard. The tool shop has new tools so go to the room south and to the right of the throne room. The merchant says he can't take money from the King if Edgar is with you. Too bad for him. Buy a Flash and a Drill (which is his best tool in my opinion). When you are done go to the old man in the basement from the left stairway just past the foyer, he asks if you want to go to Kohlingen. Say yes. The castle submerges and moves to another continent northwest of where Figaro is!

KOHLINGEN

Just North of where Figaro moved is Kohlingen. Locke knows an NPC here so make sure to bring him. If you go to Kohlingen without Locke one of the townspeople will ask if you're friends of his (yep, totally normal to ask every single person you come across if you know another traveler lol) and if you go into the house on the upper right corner and go downstairs the old man will almost reveal who Rachel is to you. The game's hinting pretty heavily to bring Locke here next time you come. Or to go back to Narshe and bring him now. If you do bring Locke go first into the house on the upper left portion of town. Locke has a flashback of when he went exploring with Rachel and she gets hurt resulting in amnesia. He couldn't save her from an attack by the empire and the old man in the house on the upper right corner of town is keeping her alive in suspended animation. Locke is sad that he hasn't been able to save her. Celes, if you brought her, spends a moment by herself in Rachel's room. On a lighter note, there is an Elixir in the clock in Rachel's house. Go to the house on the upper right corner of town. Down in the basement is Rachel, in suspended animation and a weird old man. If you enter that same house from the back entrance there is a chest to the left with a Green Beret in it.

RECRUIT SHADOW! (OPTIONAL)

You can name Shadow in Kohlingen if you did not in South Figaro or in the Doma area. If you have a full party of four he then tells you to leave him alone if you try to recruit him. If you have 3 or less, he offers to be hired for payment. If you recruit Shadow in Kohlingen, do NOT return to Narshe with him in the party. At the town gates (or at the mine entrance at the left of the training room if you tried to go in the alternative way) he will state he has worn out his welcome and he will then leave the party. He cannot be re-recruited at this point, he is gone until a specific event later on. You can, however advance the story with him in the party. He leaves immediately after the scene in Zozo where you get asked to pick who goes with Locke and Celes to the empire. If you did not hire him to tag along in the Zozo event you can hire him afterwards and bring him to the Opera House with you, but he leaves during the show as Locke goes to check on Celes. The Impresario says "Your friend left. Said he'd have fallen asleep in another 5 minutes....". As before, he cannot be re-recruited after that until a specific event later on.

North of Kohlingen is a house where an old man wants to build a colosseum. In the second world, his dream comes true. More on that later though. For now take the Hero Ring in the chest in his house. There is a hidden Chocobo Stable in the forest north of the colosseum man's house. Let's go south. To the very southernmost part of the continent is an Opera House. If you try to go inside the guy says they are closed. North of the Opera House is Jidoor, where you want to go next.

JIDOOR

At Jidoor the Armor Shop is in the lower left corner. Buy a White Dress for Celes. Buy a Ninja Gear for Locke and Sabin. Buy a Mithril Vest for Edgar. I'm not currently shopping for Gau or Cyan anymore but you may want to get them a Ninja Gear and Mithril Vest respectively if you brought them. North of the armor shop is the Inn, rest if you are weak. Next to that is the Weapon Shop! Buy a Kaiser Claw for Sabin, a Forged for Cyan if you brought him, a Kodachi Knife for Shadow if he is with you, as well as two Full Moons for Locke for use with the Genji Glove if you don't have those already. The upper right portion of town has an Auction House. Right now the auctions are over but you can participate in auctions in a side quest later. The mansion at the northern part of town belongs to a man named Owzer, who you won't meet until the second world but his house's first floor can be explored now. There is a scholar, who for some reason has a unique sprite color set from all other scholars, who thinks Celes looks like Maria if you bring her. Next to that scholar is a jar with a Tincture. Go upstairs to the right to look at paintings in the gallery. Optional but fun. The flower causes a battle when you return here in the second world and so does the picture of the girl, which to me always looked more like a duck than a girl.

JIDOOR PAINTING GALLERY

You can go admire the paintings and your party's thoughts on each are shown.

CHEST
Looks like a treasure chest.

YELLOW JAR
Picture of an old urn.

FLOWER
A still-life of flowers. They almost look alive....

LAMP
A lamp, maybe?

ULTROS
Looks awfully familiar....

GIRL
Picture of a lovely lady.

ARMOR
Ah! Some armor.

BLUE JAR
This looks ancient....

When you are done looking at the paintings and finished with equipment shopping, it's time to head to Zozo! If you want you can buy a Chocobo ride at the stable in the southeast corner of town. I'd prefer to walk, more experience points. Zozo is north of Jidoor, halfway from Kohlingen but around the mountains so you have to go from the eastern side of the continent.

ZOZO
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

locke.gif

It's always raining here and the music is cool. A town that has random encounters, also every single townsperson NPC here lies. The main enemies to look out for are the Slamdancers, they can use powerful magic on the whole party or on one person which may defeat them depending on your level. The HadesGigas can also be a problem as he uses the dangerous Magnitude8 ability that hits everyone for a lot of damage. So the first building on your left from the entrance has a Cafe sign on it. Head inside. Go up the stairs and exit through the right. The door to your right has a chest with a Tincture while the door to the left is rusted shut. This will be important in the second world. Now head back downstairs and outside.

Go north. You'll see a merchant who tells you to not think about jumping between the buildings, he like all the other townspeople is lying. Jumping between the buildings is actually the only way to advance in the upper tower floors.

CLOCK PUZZLE - GET THE CHAINSAW (OPTIONAL)

Go into the building by the merchant with the Inn sign. Inside is a clock puzzle. The solution to the puzzle is 6:10:50. Why after all these years I managed to keep that memorized is beyond me. It opens a path to a chest with a Chain Saw! Its normal attack is Edgar's most powerful Tool, however it has a chance of doing an Instant Death attack instead and many enemies are immune to it. I prefer the Drill for this reason, myself. If you walked out onto the balcony the path might appear blocked but just walk right into the wall and it will open back into the clock room. Now head back outside.

To the left of the building where the Chain Saw was is a building with a Shield sign on it. Inside is a chest with a Tonic. The building to the left of that has a sword sign on it. Inside is a thief behind a counter who has says something weird when you talk to him. He says "That clock has no minute hand. It's never pointing to the right time anyway!". Go south and to the left into the building in the lower left corner. Up the stairs. You end up in a hallway that has an endless line of thieves walking through it. They say random things, see below.

THIEVES HALLWAY NPC DIALOGUE

Time? It's 4:00!

Phew....! How long we gonna have ta do this!?

Great people, here!

It's now 2:00.

It's already 12:00.

10:00! Time to go home!

You can trust me! It's 8:00.

The man behind the desk says "Get in line!"

When you're done talking to the thieves go upstairs and you'll be back outside. It is not possible to go back down the stairs through the hallway because the thieves in line block the way trying to get through. You can ride a crane to the floor below though, it is at the top of the first flight of stairs from when you first got back outside. Go up some more flights of stairs until you see a door to the right a few floors up. A chest inside has a Thief Glove! Give this to Locke to turn Steal into Capture. The latter is identical to the former, only he attacks now too when stealing.

Now you must jump between buildings despite the merchant telling you not to. Go through the open doorway northwest of the crane and then keep moving left to jump into the building to the left of you. Do this again to jump one more building left. Go inside the open doorway here. This will seem like a dead end but it's not. See where there is a line of grey bricks to your left? There should be two. Go left through the upper one. The lower one just leads to the thief behind the counter. In the jars you will find a Potion and a Tincture. Head outside by exiting to the south. Now go through the open doorway a flight of stairs up and go right until you jump right two buildings over. Go inside and up the stairs, then follow the path back outside. Go up more flights of stairs. Be sure to go into the door you will pass on the way, inside is a chest that has a Fire Knuckle for Sabin. Now go talk to the guy who looks like Vargas. That's the next boss, Dadaluma!

BOSS BATTLE: Dadaluma, Iron Fist (2)

Image797.gif
Image871.gif

This is pretty easy. Sabin should Suplex, Edgar should use the Drill, Locke should Capture, while Celes heals as needed with her Cure spell or potions. Cyan should use Quadra Slam if he is with you and have Gau use the Stray Cat rage. The boss will at one point use a bunch of potions on himself and cast Safe. This makes most of your physical attacks do less damage to him. He might also summon a couple of Iron Fists to help him. If he does, ignore them. They die automatically when the boss does.

ZOZO TOWER
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif
sabin.gif
celece.gif
locke.gif

Past the boss is the door to the top floor of the tower. Down the hall and to the left is a chest with a RunningShoes. To the right down the hall is an X-Potion. Now head to the end of the hall to find Terra, still transformed, in a bed. Ramuh the esper shows up and a lengthy discussion follows. Ramuh tells you many of his kind are trapped in the Empire's Magitek Research Facility and that one might be able to help Terra. You now get your first four espers Ramuh, Siren, Kirin, and Stray. The rest of the party shows up and everyone talks while going down all the stairs. You must pick up to two others to go along with Celes and Locke to the empire for the next event. I tend to stick with Edgar and Sabin again here. If you decide you want to switch party members, go to Narshe to change active party members like you did previously. Locke and Celes are required to go this time though.

You'll see that everyone now has MP once you've gotten Ramuh's magicite, whereas before only Terra and Celes had MP. So now that you have espers you can learn magic. Anyone can, not just Terra and Celes. Open the menu, select a character, then go to skills and select Espers then select one for that character to learn spells from. Only one character can learn from one esper at a time so if Edgar is using Ramuh then Sabin cannot, and so on. You get Magic Points after battle and the amount of those gets multiplied by a rate for each esper's spells. Once you get to 100% your character knows that spell permanently.

To get this done the fastest with these first four espers is to try to get the rates to line up for the three slowest ones. For instance Kirin has a x1 rate for its slowest spell to learn. Ramuh and Stray both have a x2 so you can finish both of those for one character while another is learning Kirin, then have Kirin go to the character that learned both Ramuh and Stray while the other character now learns Kirin. Siren is one of the fastest in the game to master spells from, so that shouldn't take too long.

A ghost who randomly showed up now at the entrance of Zozo will tell you more about how the magicite process works if you wanna talk to him.

PARTY CHANGING LINES

EDGAR: The Empire's Magitek Research Facility.... Could the secret lie therein?

SABIN: Leave Narshe to me!

CYAN: Can we just march right into the Empire?

GAU: GAU.... GAU do his best!

This is what everyone says if you return to Narshe to change party members before the Opera House.

THE INFAMOUS "NO ESPERS" CHALLENGE

I'm sure many of those who have played FF6 many times knew this was coming. So now that you have espers you have the option of either teaching magic to every party member, a select few, or nobody. The easiest way to play the game would be to teach everyone every available spell through esper gaining. A medium tier challenge could see you teaching the full spellbook to maybe just Terra and Celes since they, through storyline events, could already use magic. Might as well throw in Strago and Relm into that category too. That challenge still makes canonical sense.

Then we have the NO ESPERS challenge. In this challenge, should you accept it, you are NOT allowed to use espers to teach ANY character any spells. You would be stuck with the spells naturally learned by Terra/Celes and the special abilities of the other characters.

TERRA
She is your most powerful character in this challenge. She still learns many excellent spells such as Cure, Cure 2, Life, and Life 2 on the restorative side. She will learn offensive spells such as Fire, Fire 2, Fire 3, and even Ultima. She's still allowed to Morph. Terra is a must for every event she's available for in this challenge.

LOCKE
Your down to only Steal and Capture with Locke here. He should be given the Genji Glove and Offering equipped with the Atma Weapon and Valiant Knife or two Snipers. Luckily his unique weapons and proficiency with the Atma Weapon still give him something to do here.

EDGAR
Edgar doesn't need magic and he will remain one of your strongest fighters. Give him his best spear while equipped with the Dragoon Boots and Dragon Horn, monsters will fear him just as much as they would on a normal run through the game. Or use the Drill, that works too.

SABIN
He still gets to use Bum Rush. He doesn't need magic and will remain useful in this challenge.

CELES
Your 2nd most valuable character in this challenge. She gets a few good offensive spells like Ice, Ice 2, Ice 3, Flare, and Meteor. Celes will be almost as deadly as Terra. On the supportive casting side she learns Cure, Safe, Haste, and Vanish. Oh, and she has Runic too but I never use it. Give her the Gem Box when you get it. Terra gets Morph, so Celes would benefit more from X-Magic than Terra does.

CYAN
He's still annoying but SwdTech becomes a whole lot more valuable in this challenge. Charge up for #6 for an enemy party or for #7 against single targets and bosses.

GAU
Stray Cat Rage. Seriously, that's my strategy for Gau the entire game. Magic challenge or not.

SHADOW
Throw and the use of elemental skeans make Shadow pretty useful. Stock up on Ninja Stars and just have him Throw them all the time.

SETZER
Setzer's Slot command is not one I'm fond of. Give him a Genji Glove and two Dice weapons. Or if you can afford it (pun intended) have him use GP Rain on all the bosses. He won't bring much else to the table unless you're good at the Slot command.

MOG
Either learn his dances and have fun with those, or turn him into a Dragoon. Edgar's got the better physical attack but Mog can equip spears too so Dragoon Boots and Dragon Horn are something to consider for him.

STRAGO
Strago becomes one of the best in this challenge even though normally I hate the guy. Learn all his Lores and he becomes a welcome addition to your main party in Kefka's Tower. Make sure he learns Mighty Guard and Grand Train.

RELM
Sketch sucks. Give her the Fake Mustache so she can use her better special skill. Control can be fun but Relm isn't quite as fun to play as in this challenge. Her high Magic stat was the best thing about her. She'll end up sitting on the airship with Gau in this challenge during Kefka's Tower, for me anyway, since you can only bring 12 of the 14 to the final event.

UMARO
He can still be equipped with Blizzard Orb and the Rage Ring. Why in the world would you not give him those? With them, Umaro is a good fighter in this challenge. Without them, he's useless.

GOGO
Depending on your personal preference, Gogo is the BEST character for this challenge, or one of the worst. If you want to customize him then he's definitely the best. If you want an even bigger challenge, then only give him Mimic. Equip him with the Magic command while Terra and Celes are both in the party then he just became the most deadly character on the team. Lore is also recommended if you taught Strago all his Lores.

So what do you say? Are you up for this challenge? It's fun and it really makes you appreciate each character's respective Special a whole lot more. If not, then now is the time to start esper gaining before we head to the Opera House.

If you are choosing to follow my other challenge (Celes, Edgar, Setzer only in the World of Ruin) then those three are the only ones you will need to esper gain. Good news is, you get done with learning spells much faster. Bad news is, well the second world's a lot tougher. That's kinda the point though.

ESPER SPOTLIGHT: Ramuh

Ramuh%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Judgment Bolt / Bolt Fist (25 MP)
Lightning elemental attack on all enemies.

Spells taught:
Bolt x10
Bolt 2 x2
Poison x5

Level up bonus while equipped: Stamina +1

The first esper of the game! Ramuh's spells should all be mastered, including Bolt 2, if you're at the Opera House or during your first visit to the Empire. If you're already past that point of the game then stop after learning Poison. Maduin teaches Bolt 2 faster. A good choice whether you're trying to learn the full spellbook or not.

ESPER SPOTLIGHT: Kirin

Kirin%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Holy Aura / Life Guard (18 MP)
Casts Regen on the whole party.

Spells taught:
Cure x5
Cure 2 x1
Regen x3
Antdot x4
Scan x5

Level up bonus while equipped: None

Kirin is a pain to master. Those "x1" modifiers make esper gaining such an annoying task. If you're at the Opera House or during your first visit to the Empire then learn Cure and Scan. I don't use Regen much but you might want that spell too. Cure 2 is always a benefit but as I already stated.... "x1" modifiers take forever to master. Sraphim teaches Cure 2 faster and you can get that esper right after the Magitek Research Facility, so don't worry about Cure 2. Stop after Cure and Scan. If you're further along in the game then you can skip mastering Kirin entirely. Sraphim teaches both of Kirin's two more important spells faster. The one exception to skipping Kirin is for the completionists who want to learn Scan. Unless your name's Celes, then Kirin is your only option to learn Scan.

Esper Spotlight: Stray / Cait Sith

Stray%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Cat Rain (28 MP)
Attempts to inflict Confuse on all enemies.

Spells taught:
Muddle x7
Imp x5
Float x2

Level up bonus while equipped: MagPwr +1

I don't use this esper much. You might want to learn Imp from him at least, unless you have a ton of Green Cherry items. For the completionists, Stray is your only option outside of having the Imp Equipment equipped on someone in order to learn the Imp spell. He teaches it faster than the Imp Equipment does too. The renaming of Stray to Cait Sith in recent versions of the game makes sense, as his graphic does look a lot like the character from FF7 with the same name.

ESPER SPOTLIGHT: Siren

Siren%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Lunatic Voice / Hope Song (16 MP)
Attempts to inflict Silence on all enemies.

Spells taught:
Sleep x10
Mute x8
Slow x7
Fire x6

Level up bonus while equipped: HP + 10%

Siren is one of the easiest espers to master all spells for. Completionists will want to learn Sleep and Mute from her, as she is the only option to learn those spells. For everyone else you'll want to learn Fire if you haven't fought Ifrit and Shiva yet. If you're further along than that you can skip using Siren in the capacity of learning magic as Fire (her most important spell) can be taught faster by Ifrit and Bismarck. Siren, along with Shoat, are popular for their HP bonuses they grant upon levelling up. By all means, equip her for that if you want. This is useful for nearly the whole game.

OPERA HOUSE
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif
sabin.gif
celece.gif
locke.gif

Once you have your party picked and you are done esper gaining, if you chose to do any, go to Jidoor. Go to the mansion at the north part of town. Inside is a weird looking guy pacing back and forth. He is the Impresario from the Opera House and he will think Celes is Maria the opera singer for a moment and then drops a letter. It is from Sezter, who has an airship! Also, an odd mistranslated line here by the scholar in the mansion "You born on a farm, son"?. You get to rename Setzer here. The party decides to try to meet up with him. To the Opera House! It's south of Jidoor.

At the Opera House the party decides to use Celes as a decoy since she looks like Maria, the singer who Setzer is after. Ultros shows up randomly to cause trouble. He writes a letter and throws it out to where the party had been standing. He claims he is going to pretend to be Setzer, but this must be a translation error as when you read his letter it clearly states his actual intentions. The show begins and your party members minus Celes grab their seats. Since this is a popular part of the game, I'll include text of the narration and lyrics for those who are nostalgic.

OPERA HOUSE EVENT SCRIPT (DRACO SCENE)
Opera%20Impresario%20(Front).gif
Draco%20-%20Sing.gif

NARRATOR: The West and East were waging war.... Draco, the West's great hero, thinks of his love, Maria. Is she safe? Is she waiting?

Draco walks onstage and guys ride past on chocobos then he starts singing.

DRACO: (Sung) Oh Maria Oh Maria Please, hear my voice! How I long to be with you!

Then there is an intermission. Locke gets up out of his chair. Everyone has a funny line when Locke talks to them here as he gets up to check on Celes. Sabin's is the best.

OPERA HOUSE INTERMISSION CHARACTER DIALOGUE

EDGAR: Go right ahead.

SABIN: Uh? Why's everyone singing?

CYAN: Going somewhere? I'm going to relax!

GAU: Pretty song!

Shadow left if you brought him, the conductor tells you Shadow said he was about to fall asleep.

Now you can explore most of the Opera House. You're supposed to go check on Celes, but there's some other stuff to see first. The upper left door is locked, it will be important later. The upper right is the Stage Master in front of a bunch of switches, he will not let you in. Go downstairs. The guy at the entrance will no let you leave during a performance. Well, that was fun. Now go check on Celes in the far right door. She is dressed up and Locke hardly recognizes her. You can check the script on the table to help you remember the lines, which you have to pick for Celes three times while she sings. Move her out onstage when you are ready. I'll share first what the the mistakes look like, then the full text of the song for those who are nostalgic.

SILLY MISTAKES YOU CAN MAKE HERE

MISTAKE #1 (Pick "Alas Draco" instead of "Oh my hero")

CELES: (Sung) Alas, Draco! You're outta here!

Then a text window says ". Something's wrong.... eh? Oops.... sorry!" and you end up outside having to start over.

MISTAKE #2 (Pick "I wish I" instead of "I'm the darkness")

CELES: (Sung) I wish I.... uh?

Then a text window says ". Something's wrong.... eh? Oops.... sorry!" and you end up outside having to start over

MISTAKE #3 (Pick "Prince Ralse" instead of "Must I")

CELES: (Sung) Prince Ralse.... yeah, so? I hate him! Everyone does.

Then a text window says ". Something's wrong.... eh? Oops.... sorry!" and you end up outside having to start over

MISTAKE #4 (Do not finish dancing with Draco and throwing the flowers before the song starts again)

Then a text window says "Uhnn.... not in time.... We messed up." and you end up outside having to start over.

If you made any of these mistakes (or a 5th one I'll get to in a bit) the Impresario will give you three more chances and you lose a chance each time a mistake happens. If all three run out, you have to start over from the last time you saved and it's basically the equivalent of a game over from losing a battle.

If you run out of chances another poorly translated line appears "You don't have enough acting ability to convince your own mama!". Then it goes to the game over screen as if you had lost a battle. So.... don't make mistakes. Anyway, that's all the silly mistakes.

Here are the correct lyrics and narration from when no mistakes are made. Enjoy!

OPERA HOUSE - CELES' SONG SCRIPT
Maria%20-%20Sing.gif
Maria%20-%20Balcony.gif

NARRATOR: The forces of the West fell, and Maria's castle was taken. Prince Ralse, of the East, took her hand by force. But she never stopped yearning for Draco....

Here you have to pick "Oh my hero"

CELES: (Sung) Oh my hero, so far away now. Will I ever see your smile?

CELES: (Sung) Love goes away, like night into day. It's just a fading dream.

Here you have to pick "I'm the darkness"

CELES: (Sung) I'm the darkness, you're the stars. Our love is brighter than the sun.

CELES: (Sung) For eternity, for me there can be, only you my chosen one....

Here you have to pick "Must I"

CELES: (Sung) Must I forget you? Our solemn promise? Will autumn take the place of spring?

CELES: (Sung) What shall I do? I'm lost without you. Speak to me once more!

Here Draco shows up. Talk to him then he moves around, talk to him each time he stops. Then pick up the flowers, you have to get up to the top balcony with the flowers before the song starts again or else you have to start over and lose a chance. Once you stand at the top balcony you are done and get to just listen to the lovely music for the remainder of the scene.

CELES: (Sung) We must part now. My life goes on. But my heart won't give you up.

She throws the flowers.

CELES: (Sung) Ere I walk away, let me hear you say. I meant as much to you....

CELES: (Sung) So gently, you touched my heart. I will be forever yours.

CELES: (Sung) Come what may, I won't age a day, I'll wait for you, always....

A chancellor shows up.

CHANCELLOR: (Spoken) Prince Ralse is looking for a dance partner. Leave the past behind, out kingdom is adopting the spirit of the East.

The chancellor makes Celes dance with Prince Ralse. Scene shifts briefly to the dancing. Great 16 bit dancing, consisting of moving left and right then in circles and repeat all without anyone ever moving their legs.

Then it shifts back to Locke. He finds a letter from Ultros stating he is going to sabotage the show.

There is a letter on the floor. It is from Ultros and he says he going to sabotage the show. Once you inform the Impresario about Ultros he is shocked and the music changes to a more tense theme. In ironic timing the scene onstage now also gets more intense. Soldiers from Draco's and Ralse's kingdom begin fighting. They look like Figaro Soldiers and Merchants.

Then Draco rides in on a chocobo as the soldiers fight.

CELES: (Sung) Draco, I've waited so long. I knew you'd come!

Prince Ralse, who turns out to be the best singer of them all, now responds.

RALSE: (Sung) Maria will finally have to become my queen!

DRACO: (Sung) For the rest of my life I'll keep you near....

RALSE: (Sung) It's a duel!

ULTROS: (Spoken, up in the rafters) Mwa ha ha! Let's see if Maria can shrug THIS off! N'ghaaa! This is heavier than I thought! It'll take me 5 minutes to drop it!

Ultros is up in the rafters trying to push an anvil off down onto the stage and the tense music begins playing again while the soldiers fight onstage. You regain control over Locke and your party. The Impresario tells you go to the stage manager to make him help you get to the rafters. Go to the upper right door, talk to the stage manager, flip the far right switch. The switch on the left barks at you like a dog for some reason. The second switch from the left turns out the lights to the confusion of the audience briefly. The third switch from the left opens a trapdoor and you fall out onstage then run out into the foyer after jumping on heads of audience members to get out quickly. It's funny looking but wastes time. The far right switch is the one that opens up the door to the rafters where Ultros went.

ANOTHER SILLY MISTAKE

MISTAKE #5 (Do not get to Ultros before the timer runs out)

He pushes the anvil down onstage and you end up outside, having to start over. Ultros knew the first time it would take him exactly 5 minutes, he does not say this the additional chances but he does whine about the anvil weighing 4 tons. His letter will be outside the balcony door instead of in the room where Locke spoke to Celes.

If you complete Celes' song but Ultros drops the anvil then you only have to start over from the chase into the rafters, you do not have to pick lyrics for Celes to sing again at least.

You have less than 5 minutes. Make your way to the upper left door and go up into the rafters. Follow the path over to Ultros. You may end up fighting at least one group of rats on the way to Ultros. If you feel confident that you have the time to do it, fight them all for the experience it provides.

BATTLE: Vermin, Sewer Rat
Image1046.gif
Image995.gif

Always defeat the Sewer Rats first in these encounters. If you defeat the Vermin(s) then the Sewer Rat(s) will summon more Vermin(s) into battle. Locke should attack all the Sewer Rats then all the Vermin. Edgar should use Flash, Sabin should use Fire Dance. Cyan if there should use Quadra Slam and Gau if there should use Stray Cat's Rage.

The time limit goes away when you get to Ultros who knocks everyone including himself down onto the stage resulting in an akward scene. Impresario runs out onto the stage breaking character.

OPERA HOUSE - OFF-SCRIPT SCENE SCRIPT

IMPRESARIO: (Spoken) Disaster! If the two heroes are flattened, the opera's over! Then who'll win the girl!?

Locke gets up and akwardly tries to pretend he is part of the show. Due to Locke using the casting a spell sprite and the absence of singing sounds, I'm not sure if this is spoken or sung horribly. Who knows.

LOCKE: Neither Draco nor Ralse will save CELES! I, LOCKE, the world's premiere adventurer will save her!

IMPRESARIO: (Spoken) Aya.... What awful acting!

ULTROS: (Spoken) Silence! You are in the presence of octopus royalty! A lowborn thug like you could never defeat me!

Ultros will now attack you and while the audience might not know this is off-script, you're entering a real battle with Ultros.

BOSS BATTLE: Ultros

Image1040.gif

Ultros is a little easier this time. He can use some spells like Imp Song and L3 Muddle, so be careful of those. If you're following my No Espers challenge then use potions to heal when needed. You should be fine if you use the same attacks you did against the rats on Ultros. He says some funny stuff in this battle too. Not as funny as in the first fight, but it's weird stuff. "Long time no see, you've changed!", "Imp! Pal! Buddy!", "I ain't no garden variety octopus!" I don't like the song that plays here. It should have been the standard boss theme, which I'll never get tired of.

After the fight Setzer shows up and takes Celes onto his airship. The rest of the party follows him as the Impresario jumps up and down saying stay tuned for part 2.

SETZER'S AIRSHIP
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif
sabin.gif
celece.gif
locke.gif

Depending on who is in your active party the dialogue will differ by a couple of lines in this scene. When Setzer first realizes Celes is not Maria, Cyan (if present) says that he is one of Doma's knights and asks help Setzer to help. If Edgar is there he says that he is the King if Figaro and that if Sezter cooperates, he'll be well rewarded. If Sabin is there but Edgar is not he says a basically idential line but that his brother is King. If both Edgar and Sabin are there, Edgar says his line about being King while Sabin says nothing. Gau says nothing if he is here.

You get a chance to walk around in the airship. Don't talk to Setzer yet. Go over to the guy standing by the stairways. He can unequip the characters not currently in your party. This allows you to sell or equip any of their equipment they had. Cyan and Gau are both done for me until the second world as I have previously stated. I'll be selling their stuff. Celes may need re-equipping also. Downstairs is the room where your party members will soon gather in between events, the room beyond that has a guy who heals you and an item shop. Now go talk to Setzer when you're ready.

When the party tries to convince Setzer to join, Cyan says he lost his family and friends if he is there. Edgar says his realm and the empire used to be allies until recently, if he is there. Sabin says the empire will end up owning you, if he is there. Gau says nothing if he is there. If Edgar and Sabin are BOTH with you then Sabin makes an interesting remark to Edgar following the coin toss. "That coin....!? BIG BROTHER!!!! Don't tell me....!". Cyan also says that Setzer uses people, right before the coin toss if he is there. Celes fools Setzer with a two sided coin during the coin toss and he agrees to fly you to the empire.

SIDEQUESTS IN THE EMPIRE BEFORE VECTOR
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif
sabin.gif
celece.gif
locke.gif

So you start off on the imperial continent by the town of Albrook and the airship is there on the ground on the world map. You can enter it with the A button if you need to. The recovery guy is a free restore if needed. Buy some healing items from the item shop to the right of him. Remedies, Revivifies, Fenix Downs, Tinctures, and Potions should all get maxed out in your inventory especially if you're trying my no esper gaining challenge. Setzer is at the same spot the coin toss took place at, he asks what's going on but he cannot leave the airship. Even if you purposefully left a spot in your active party for him, he's not playable yet. I tried bringing only Gau with Locke and Celes 20 years ago to test this, Setzer sticks around on the airship no matter what until after Vector. So why don't we explore the three towns and the base before we head to the imperial capitol?

Albrook is the closest so we'll start there. The weapon shop is to the right of the stairway on the lower portion of town. In there is a jar that has a Tincture. Buy Sabin a Poison Claw if you don't have his Fire Claw from Zozo. Celes and Edgar should both get an Epee Sword. Shadow can use the Blossom Knife although he won't be playable for another few more events. If Cyan's with you he might need a Forged Katana if you don't already have one. Further east is the Armor Shop. The back room of the Armor Shop has an old man worrying about painting the emperor's portrait. You'll be able to see this portrait in Jidoor in the second world. Now go up the stairs into the upper portion of town. The barrell to the right of the Inn has a Potion in it. The Relic Shop is connected to the bar and you can hear the bar's music from in the Relic Shop. Head through the door to go into the bar and you'll see a bunch of soldiers having a party. There's a clock with an Elixir in it on the way. Not much else to do here. Exit the bar, go down the stairs and leave town.

The next place we're gonna stop by is the base. It is to the east past the desert. Make sure to save before heading inside. This is a great place to level up. Every single soldier in here causes a battle to start if you walk up to them and you get "chucked out" (thrown out, but the text window says "chucked out") after each fight. The brown and green soldiers are Commandos while the Magitek Armor soldier is a ProtoArmor and a Mega Armor. If you manage to sneak past all the soldiers walking around, there is one at the top of the stairway who you cannot get past since he is blocking the way, he also causes a battle against Commandos to begin. The building has a basement full of treasure that is locked, remember this for later on. When you're done battling/levelling then you can leave.

BATTLE: Commando (4)
Image786.gif

These guys have a higher resistance toward physical attacks so attacking with weapons is useless unless you're at a really high level. Celes can cast Ice, Sabin's Fire Dance works well, as does Edgar's Flash. If you're not learning magic from espers by now, these guys might teach you a valuable lesson in why you need to know magic (or to also use magic stat based attacks like Sabin's Fire Dance if you don't already). If you did esper gain then Bolt 2 should take care of these guys easily.

BATTLE: Mega Armor, ProtoArmor
Image916.gif
Image963.gif

The Mega Armor doesn't have as high of a physical attack resistance as the ProtoArmor so he is the easier of the two although he has some strong attacks so be careful. The ProtoArmor is the bigger danger as he has a high physical attack resistance and some dangerous attacks, the worst of all being Launcher where he shoots missiles at the whole party. Use the same tactics as you did against the Commandos.

Tzen is at the northern part of the continent just follow the coast all the way to the northern most part of the imperial continent. Go to the weapon shop and buy two Boomerangs for Locke. Like the Full Moon, they do the same damage from the back row. Everyone in your active party Minus Sabin will need a Mithril Helm from the Armor Shop so buy 3 of those. There's not much else to do here as it's a really small town. You'll be back here for another side quest later though. Maranda is the last town and it's at the southwest corner of the continent. You could get a Chocobo from the hidden stable in the forest to the right of Tzen but you get more experience if you walk.

The last town to visit before Vector the imperial capitol is Maranda. Head to the southwest corner of the continent and you'll find it. A desk in the corner to the left of the town entrance has a Revivify in it. Go north to the Armor Shop and buy 3 Mithril Mails for your active party members as all but Sabin will need one. A desk in the lower right corner of town next to the lady and soldier who run circles around is a Remedy. In the center of town is a bunch of people watching dogs fight. You might consider getting Edgar a Trident even though the Epee Sword has a stronger base attack. An upcoming relic is more effective when you equip spears. The house in the upper right belongs to Lola. Remember the guy in Mobliz you sent all those letters for? She's the girl you sent them to. Nothing else to do here. Time to go to the imperial capitol.

VECTOR
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif

celece.gif
locke.gif

The imperial capitol is in the center of the continent. The very first thing you'll want to do is go to the skinny house in the lower left corner of town. Tell the old lady that you do not pledge allegiance to the empire. You end up having to fight guards....

BATTLE: Guard (2)
Image846.gif

Pathetically easy at this point. Attack them until they are defeated.

After the fight this lady's house becomes a free restore location. "Young people.... hang in there!" she says and heals you. No need to spend money at the Inn now. The Weapon Shop is next to it but the other towns had better stuff so you won't need anything they sell. Same goes for the Armor Shop which is north of the Weapon Shop. A kid is running around to the right of the Armor Shop he can heal you but only for a grand total of one Health Point. Upstairs you'll see soldiers running around. Talking to them makes you enter battles with Commandos and Garms. If you win your party runs to the town entrance with a weird textbox that reads "danger.... danger....". The same thing happens if you talk to the Magitek Armored soldiers but they make you fight a battle against ProtoArmors. This is also a good levelling spot as the soldiers all respawn after each fight and you can get healed for free in the skinny house. If you're not ready for the Magitek Research Facility, fight these soldiers for a while.

BATTLE: Commando, Garm (2)
Image786.gif
Image828.gif

The Garms apparently have high physical attack resistance too. Armored dogs maybe? Anyway, just use the exact same strategies on the Garms as you do on the Commandos if you end up fighting this encounter.

BATTLE: ProtoArmor (2)
Image963.gif

You already know how dangerous these guys are from the base. Use Fire Dance, Flash, and/or cast Bolt 2 to end this battle as soon as possible! If they both use Launcher you're in trouble.

BATTLE: ProtoArmor, Pipsqueak (2)
Image963.gif
Image951.gif

This battle might also trigger if you approach the Magitek Armor soldiers. It isn't as bad as the 2 ProtoArmors battle but you'll still want to end the battle quickly. The Pipsqueaks can turn you into Imps. If they do use a Green Cherry or cast Imp on the victim to turn them back to normal. The Pipsqueaks despite their appearance do have a high physical attack resistance. Not as high as the ProtoArmors do at least.

If you ignore the soldiers and go left you can go into a bar. Talk to the blonde haired guy at the table in the left corner of the bottom floor. He tells you some trivia about the game's main villain, Kefka. Turns out Kefka turned insane due to Cid's process of turning humans into experimental Magitek Knights not being perfected yet. I kinda wish this conversation had been required, it's a shame so many people likely missed this over the years. Really tells a lot about Kefka. Anyway, past all the soldiers and up all the steps is the imperial palace gates. A soldier chases you but you lose him by hiding in a corner. Moving toward the steps to go in causes a soldier in red armor to make the Guardian attack you.

BOSS BATTLE: Guardian

Image847.gif

This is the first of three potential battles against this boss and each of those three times it is IMPOSSIBLE to win. Literally. Just run. Fights against the invincible version of the Guardian are the only time in the entire game where you are able to run to escape while the boss music plays. Everything you try to do will do zero damage to this guy. It is possible to encounter the invicinble version of this boss two more times, at Vector's entrance after having been through the Magitek Research Facility, and again in Thamasa as General Leo. He's invincible all three times. You do end up having to fight him in the second world but right now he's invincible.

MAGITEK RESEARCH FACILITY
My Party: Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Locke

edgar.gif
sabin.gif
celece.gif
locke.gif

First we gotta get inside. There are two brown soldiers and a red soldier blocking the entrance to the Magitek Research Facility. See the old man by the boxes? He's a spy who is on the returners' side. Go talk to him. He pretends to be sick to distract the soldiers long enough for you to jump up onto the metal pathways above. The party jumps down far enough away from the soldiers that you can now get into the facility. Just don't approach the soldiers, if you do then it makes you fight a Commando and 2 Garms. They should have put guard dogs in the field screen map here as it's confusing as to where the Garms showed up from when there's clearly 3 soldiers on the map. Anyway, head into the facility and stay away from the soldiers or else you'll have to get the spy to trick them again. They fall for it each time so you can still get back in at this time. Alright, we're inside!

This place can be a little confusing. Also, the enemies in here pretty much all have high resistance to physical attacks so keep having Edgar use Flash and Sabin use Fire Dance constantly. Unless you've been esper gaining, then rely on magic. Follow the path down the first two sets of horizontal stairways. There is a pipe you can crawl through, going all the way to the left gets you to a chest with a Flame Sabre in it. Ignore that chest. The Flame Sabre is not worth it as enemies that are fire elemental get healed by it. There's two other elemental swords in here, I'll point out those as well as you'll want to avoid all three. If you ended up where the Flame Sabre chest is, wait for the hook to float over to you then press A and it takes you to the platform to your right. The pipe you used to get to the Flame Sabre chest has a south path that led out here where you are now. The vertical staircase leads back to the entrance. Go down through the pipe on the right out of the two next to you. This allows you to reach the chest with the Tincture. Now go back and go down the left pipe which takes you to an escalator, which brings you to the next room. You cannot go back up the escalator but it is possible to backtrack. Grab the chest on your left first, it has an X-Potion! To backtrack you'll need to go through the pipe by the X-Potion chest and ride the lift, which takes you to the chest where the Flame Sabre was. Ready to proceed? Good.

From the X-Potion chest, going south leads to a dead end for now. Only way you can go is to the right using the next escalator. This takes you to a platform where there's two chests. The northern one has a Thunder Blade, so avoid opening that one. Same rules apply to it as the Flame Sabre, it will heal any enemy that is thunder elemental. The southern chest has a Remedy. Only way to go from here is down since the escalators are one-way. Take the next escalator down into the next room. Be careful in here. Do NOT get on the escalator to your right just yet. There's more treasure to be found first. Go up the horizontal stairway northeast of you and pass through a hidden path in the wall. Now follow the path and if you look carefully you will see a hidden path in between the rows of boxes to a pipe. Follow the pipe until you see a path to your right, follow it to find two more chests. Ignore the one on the left, it has a Blizzard Sword. It works the same as the Flame Sabre but heals ice elementals, so ignore it. The chest on the right has a Zephyr Cape relic. Now go back into the pipe and go south until you end up offscreen, you fall down into the room you were in earlier.

A few more chests to go. Ignore the escalator to the right once more and head southwest to find a chest with Dragoon Boots! Give those to Edgar and equip him with the Trident you bought in the towns on the continent. Now go up the horizontal staircases and go through the door to find a Gold Shield. Give it to Edgar or Cyan. Celes can use it too but she's leaving after this event so Edgar would need it more. There is a lift here you can ride back to the chest where the X-Potion was. Head back to where the Dragoon Boots were. Now go south. There's two doors south of you, take the one on the right for now. See the chest southwest of the stairway? You can go through the door that leads to it, it appears blocked off by the wall due to the graphics. The chest had a Gold Helmet in it. Give that to Edgar too. Now go back through the door. Follow the path until you are about parallel with the where the escalator in the background ends. Take 5 steps to your right now and then go down. You'll walk through a door, go a few steps to the left and open a hidden chest with Gold Armor in it. Give that to Edgar as well. Go back out through the door and follow the path all the way to the right and you will find a chest with a Tent. Now go back down the horizontal stairway and back to where you were. Remember that escalator I kept telling you to ignore? Time to go ride it down to the boss fight.

Once you ride the escalator go south to hear.... that laugh.... Kefka! He's not the boss though, not this time anyway. He taunts two espers and throws them down into the basement. Then he vanishes. Go down the escalator to end up in the same basement as the two espers. Do not talk to them yet though! Go through the door in the upper left corner to find a Save Point. Go save first, then talk to the espers. If you need to exit then press A while facing the crane hanging down, it brings you up to that escalator I told you to ignore earlier. You can backtrack fully from there by going northwest up the stairways, through the door, down the lift, over to the Flame Sabre chest, ride the crane to the pipes, up the stairways, and back out the front door. You can fight the guards, get out of town, and even go all the way back to the airship to talk to Setzer. If you wanted to and were bored enough to but this much backtracking won't accomplish anything. Anyway, when you're ready for the boss talk to the espers. The blue one, Shiva, does not respond at this time. The green one, Ifrit, does. He attacks you!

BOSS BATTLE: Ifrit, Shiva

Image862.gif
Image997.gif

This battle can be really tough if you don't know what you're doing. You battle them one at a time, eventually Ifrit leaves the battlefield and you'll fight Shiva. Then after a while Shiva leaves and Ifrit returns. These bosses are elemental. Ifrit is fire and Shiva is ice. If Celes has learned Ice 2 by levelling up on your way here then this can be over in a matter of moments, before Shiva even shows up. If not, have Celes heal as the others attack. Sabin should use Pummel against Ifrit. He gets HEALED by Fire Dance. Aurabolt and Suplex do not work on him. Edgar should use his Drill. Gau if he is with you as always should use the Stray Cat Rage. Cyan if he is with you should use the Quadra Slam skill. Locke should attack from the back with his Boomerangs. When Shiva shows up have Sabin use Fire Dance. Everyone else can keep the same strategy they did with Ifrit. If you're having difficulty, level up and try again. When you do enough damage to either one of them they tell you that they are espers, and the fight ends. You get both of their magicites after the battle.

ESPER SPOTLIGHT: Ifrit

Ifrit%20(Front)%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Inferno (26 MP)
Fire elemental attack on all enemies.

Spells taught:
Fire x10
Fire 2 x5
Drain x1

Level up bonus while equipped: Strength +1

Ifrit teaches three good spells but one of them is one of those painfully annoying "x1" modifiers. Avoid learning Drain unless you REALLY want it. Ifrit's your only option to learn it and it takes forever. You definitely want to know his other two spells. Ifrit should teach Fire and Fire 2 to the characters you use the most often. I have him teach both spells to everyone that I brought to the Magitek Research Facility while still in the event.

ESPER SPOTLIGHT: Shiva

Shiva%20-%20Summon.gif

Summon: Diamond Dust / Gem Dust (27 MP)
Ice elemental attack on all enemies.

Spells taught:
Ice x10
Ice 2 x5
Rasp x4
Osmose x4
Cure x3

Level up bonus while equipped: None

I like Shiva a lot. She's one of my favorite summons consistently in every FF game that she appears in, her FF6 appearance is no different. You'll want to master all her spells other than Cure, which Sraphim teaches at a higher rate. Ice and Ice 2 are a must for Terra and Locke (you'll see why later) unless you are doing my No Espers challenge. You should teach Ice and Ice 2 to the rest of your party too. Osmose can be fun it's just like Ifrit's Drain spell only you are taking Magic Points instead of Health Points. Rasp is critical on the GBA version, an optional boss MUST be defeated by casting Rasp on it to attack its MP count. More on him when we get to that event, which is in the second world. Anyway, Shiva's great. Quite possibly the most useful esper in the first world other than Sraphim. You can wait until getting Zoneseek to learn Rasp and Osmose if you want, but I have Shiva teach her whole list of spells to everyone I brought to the Magitek Research Facility while there. Afterwards I have her teach Ice and Ice 2 to everone else as soon as I can.

At this time I would recommend back-tracking or staying in the facility for a bit if you brought enough Tents to keep you restored when needed. Celes will be leaving soon so if you are esper gaining then this is your last chance for a while to get her to learn Ifrit and Shiva's spells. At least get her to learn Ice 2 and Fire 2. At this point I max out Shiva on all four and get everyone through all Ifrit's spells but Drain. Gets you lots of EXP in the process too, so you might level up a bit while esper gaining here.

Whether you chose to do that or not, when you are ready to proceed go through the door that Shiva was in front of. Climb up several flights of horizontal stairways. You'll see a room that has empty glass tubes. These might be where Ifrit, Shiva, and Ramuh were once held. They are empty now though. There is a hidden item, a Break Blade, at the southwest corner of the room. Follow the railing south until your character cannot be seen then go to the left a bit and press A. I never really use this weapon either, it's up to you. The next room has a boss in it. The fight starts if you try to talk to him.

BOSS BATTLE: Number 024

Image934.gif

This guy's not so tough. He can change his elemental weakness, but you're able to rely on physical attacks to get the job done whether you've been learning magic or not. Locke should attack from the back row with his Boomerangs while Edgar uses the Drill and Sabin uses Suplex. Celes should be the designated healer if one is needed. If Cyan and Gau are with you then their tactics remain unchanged, Quadra Slam and Stray Cat respectively.

You might want to unequip Celes now, she is about to leave the party.

So go into the next chamber and you will see more glass tubes but these still have espers in them. The first row from the entrance are Bismark and Maduin. The next row are Unicorn and Shoat. The top row are Phantom and Carbunkl. Flip the switch north of the tubes to release the espers, they turn into magicite and you can now use each of them to learn more spells. Cid shows up (because what FF game is complete without the awesome tradition of a great character named CID!) and asks what you're doing. Kefka also shows up and has his soldiers attack you but Celes saves the party by teleporting herself and Kefka out of the chamber to prove to the others that they can trust her. Cid then helps you escape down an elevator. Make sure to save before talking to Cid, as you're about to fight several battles. Cid pushes you into a mine cart. You're about to go for a ride, here we go!

MINE CART ESCAPE

edgar.gif

The mine cart races down the path and awesome music plays here, the same one that played during the war against Kefka a while back in Narshe. You randomly encounter creatures called Mag Roaders. There's four types in the game and two are encountered here. Chances are you'll only encounter the purple ones but there are red ones too that can cast Ice spells. The purple ones use Fire spells and are really not as intimidating as they look.

BATTLE: Mag Roader (2)
Image904.gif

They are actually pretty easy. Just use regular attacks or any area of effect attacks. Conserve your MP though, there's a boss battle coming.

Here is what the red ones look like. They are actually rarely encountered. I've played through this game dozens of times and only encountered them 3 or 4 times.
Image907.gif

When the music changes, it's boss battle time!
