Bayley's gimmick at it's base isn't so good for outside of the Full Sail hugbox, and they absolutely failed to add any wrinkles to the character to make it more appealing to the masses that come with the main roster. To make matters worse, the whole bulls to the match was Alexa highlighting exactly why the gimmick is stupid. Bayley looked like an autist the whole time.

If there was anybody in the WWE absolutely perfect to play the Daniel Bryan underdog role, it was Bayley. This may sound stupid, but I wholly believe that giving her the title so soon cut the knees off her character right out of the gate.

If there was anybody in the WWE absolutely perfect to play the Daniel Bryan underdog role, it was Bayley. This may sound stupid, but I wholly believe that giving her the title so soon cut the knees off her character right out of the gate.

It did. It didn't help that the booking was so messy. Sasha technically cheats to help Bayley win, then she's in the overbooked Wrestlemania match, then she loses in her hometown.

Have Bayley lose in February then win the title at Wrestlemania (pinning Charlotte) and have her beat Bliss in San Jose. THEN have her lose here and set up whatever is next.

Like I've been saying: WWE has no idea how to book people other than handing them a title and saying "you're on your own because we've done our part."

Yup. You nailed it. Many said it at the time she won the title....it was too soon. Her money was always in the chase. They killed that off in a couple months.

It only made sense if it was building to a Sasha turn out of frustration and jealousy and maybe hoping those two could put on another classic feud. But that's not where they went. Bayley's title reign was ultimately pointless.

She's a good wrestler, so perhaps she can bounce back. But they certainly blew her initial push.
