Everyone is too nice around here

That's what should be done by everyone. As I said before, everyone from Jake to IC to Norcal to Sparky at one point were newbs, and they turned out ok.

I've had it happen where I posted a nice post in an Orton thread, and it was ignored completely, and 2 elite posters posted after me. Wish they'd have ripped my post apart then just ignore it. I felt i made some good points.

I'm sorry dude. Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I'll rip you a new hole like you have shit marks on your forehead. :lmao:

I didn't realize I gave a lot of noobs rep, but a lot of people in the Bar Room have said I was the first one to give them rep. It can't get better if you don't coach people along, another one of my big beliefs of this forum.

its already happening. all these "ok ill be an asshole" thread will be popping up, as if flipping a bitch on a internet wreslting forum is "stepping up". which is immensely more pathetic than being cool with each other LOL

This whole "we need to start treating each like shit" thing that is going on now by far the most pathetically ******ed shit I have seen on these forums since the day I signed up

One thing I just want to say is though Sly was right when he said that not knowing any of the posters doesn't incline him to post much, but what he and other posters also have to realize that when you actually acknowledge those posters instead of those you already know, you help them get established, and IMO, this isn't done much here. Since i've tried the posting thing out, I've noticed that people gravitate to certain threads depending on who's posted there, for example if Shocky was the last post in the thread, they'll reply to Shocky's post, not even checking out that maybe someone else had made some good points and not even bothering to read it...I've experienced it myself. All I'm saying is if you want people to start being honest, forming their own "niche" so to say, you gotta show them that. Acknowledging them can do wonders, even if it's just tearing them to shreds, or if you actually agree with them, that'll motivate them to post even more. I feel like the only times I'm paid any attention to is in the BR, so why bother posting in the wrestling forums if you know you'll just be "just another post" no matter how hard you try not to be?

Reminds me of something a teacher of mine used to say, "Some employers don't employ some individuals because of lack of experience, even if they're qualified, when they themselves could give those individuals the experience needed, train them up, let them get used to it, and you have a valuable employee on your hands...but if they don't get that chance, they can't go anywhere".

Watch this get ignored:p

This is exactly what I posted a while back in this thread and no one responded to it. I did get repped twice for it though. But this is what I mean, I believe a made a fair point in my post, but no one acknowledged it and now you post it and have people replying to you. I even posted the link to my post so more people could see it and respond, but nothing.

:lmao: Indeed they are

Now watch, cause Sly says we're all to nice, everybody will start running around WZ, and try to be more of an asshole than what they really are
LOL

At least that would be more interesting to watch than the "lets give everyone a hug" theme we have now.

I love how Spawn thinks I'm trying to make everyone do this or that. He's so far off with his thinking it's amazing.

I'm not saying that people should be assholes, I'm saying they should grow a set, and start mixing it up with people. Like Shocky said, those list of names that RVDgurl dropped weren't afraid to step on people's toes. That made it fun.

Oh, and it does make me feel better to know you still hate my guts. ;)
Why is Norcal referring to Norcal in the third person tense?
It's in the rules.
A.J. said:
1. All posters must refer to themselves in the third person (The Sly Rule)

Write out clearly what you want an explanation to. I didn't feel like reading your whole post, it just seemed like the same nonsense three other people have already said.

State clearly what it is you want.

but what he and other posters also have to realize that when you actually acknowledge those posters instead of those you already know, you help them get established, and IMO, this isn't done much here.
But, it's not done because they get banned anyways.

There's been several posters that I've thought had great potential, but they were banned, or ran off with a couple of infractions. The place wasn't hospitable to them, or they were unable to follow rules, so they were gone. I mean, just go back 4 months, and read some wrestling posts. Nearly everyone posting has been Teddy Harted or hasn't posted in forever.

Go ahead, just pick a random thread.

Acknowledging them can do wonders, even if it's just tearing them to shreds, or if you actually agree with them, that'll motivate them to post even more.
Take the Edge vs. Hollywood thread.

We did that. And all of a sudden, the only people posting were guys like myself, Ricky and NorCal. Everyone else left.

Amen Blaze. That's the one huge flaw I see in Sly's argument. He wants the place to be better but won't help any of the newbs get better. A lot will be banned but you can tell quite often who will and who will be around or has the potential to be around.
No, you can't.

Because, like has been said over and over, "Everyone gets banned at some point". And it seems like most of the new posters get banned sooner than later.

I still remember a good poster, The Champ, who got banned, I think because he posted a link to a site he found entertaining (advertising). The guy is a great poster, and does a hell of a job charging debates. But, he got banned, simply because he was offering something fun for people (I think that's right. I may have gotten a couple different people confused). Anyways, long story short, here's a guy who I've posted with for two years on another forum, who makes darn good posts, but isn't allowed back on this forum anymore.

Now, I'm not blaming anyone on the staff for that, I'm just pointing out that you DON'T know who will stay and who will go.

I must be a rare case, I've only been here around 10 day's, And quite a few member's have warmed to me. :)

It's amazing how people completely mis-interpret my point, isn't it?

I never endorsed being an asshole for the sake of it, I just did it to get debates going, to prove how much more interesting they are.

All I said I wanted is for people to start mixing it up with each other, and quit with the love fest that's developed here.

I'm talking about how you can tell when someone's first post is nothign but mindless spam or somethign that is well thought out and logical. You not thinking they're worth your time or efforts says to me that you really don't give much of a damn about what goes on in this place.

See, it's stupid shit like this which annoys me to know end, and probably is the reason I ignore you when you think make a relevant point.

Did you even read what I said? Did you pay attention to my story about The Champ?

Fuck's sake, please pay attention. I already addressed that.

:lmao: :lmao:

oooohhhh If I could rep you
I have amazing ability to remember pointless stuff like that.

Sorry about that, I didn't read all the new posts, just start posted again, sorry:)

That is true, I admit, but it's also a mass generalization, I mean up until 2 weeks ago I was still under 100 posts, and I'm still here, you shouldn't say because someone's under 100, that means they'll be banned soon. You still need to give them a chance, on the off chance they DON'T get banned.

Yes I read it, and it shows yet again your eliteism. You want this place to be better, then fucking do something about it. Don't by hypocritical and try to get the other people to do what you want done.

Sly, how is it that my post was "too long" for you to read, but yet you've replied to posts longer than mine? Probably because my post count is low so you feel you don't need to bother. But that's fine by me because I think I have my answer. You don't respond to new posters because their going to get banned anyway, good reasoning. Personally I think that's just a scapegoat of sorts to get out of the whole topic in general. There's no way to know who will get banned unless it's obvious from their first posts. Me and Blaze are an example. We have low post counts compared to other posters, but we haven't been banned yet, weird huh? I've wanted people to rip apart my post (especially you TBH), I've wanted people to respond to my posts, but nothing, for the most part.

Basically I'm saying give the new guys a chance to make a mark on this forum because with your "reasoning" it seems we were doomed the second we registered on this forum.

Everyone except Sly of course. He was divine the moment he came here and was never a "newb".

I'm going to open with the disclaimer that I no longer have a fucking clue what this thread is about. I got bored of it a dozen of so pages ago, and am only reading it again now because all of the action we usually get is becoming drawn into this monstrosity like light into a black hole.

But since the newest topic in the ever-changing roster of "what everyone's up in arms about" seems to be new posters and the worthiness of debating therewith. And since I am a green poster trying to establish himself in debate, I feel I can display a certain level of authority in judging what does and does not attract the good eggs (me) to the forum.

People like... IC, Norcal and all the others who take time to banter with, debate with and encourage green-horns like myself, help grow, and by doing so improve, this place.

Trying to make things "kick off", for no other reason than you want to be entertained, only serves to make the place descent into a period of intermittent squabbling between the big names, and makes it about as attractive hang out spot for the un-established and a meat grinder is for a baby piglet.

I love how Spawn thinks I'm trying to make everyone do this or that. He's so far off with his thinking it's amazing.

Actually you are. You're unhappy. And instead of finding a productive way of solving that, you instead spread it to others and make them feel inadequate because they aren't meeting the qualities that you saw in other posters who you respected more.

I'm not saying that people should be assholes, I'm saying they should grow a set, and start mixing it up with people. Like Shocky said, those list of names that RVDgurl dropped weren't afraid to step on people's toes. That made it fun.

Well they are gone. Plain and simple. There are new people here. If it's not to your liking, then take your talents elsewhere. It's that simple. But you know that really makes me laugh. It's when people don't like this place or something about it or something that they got called on and proceed to stay here and bitch about it. If you are THAT unhappy and are THAT let down and THAT disappointed..... then leave. You are beholden unto noone here. You are not chained. You are not shackled. Nothing is holding you here but you. You could turn of your comp. You could go to another sit. It's just that simple. Period.

It's in the rules.

It was a rhetorical question.
