Euro 2016

Still, fans of every nationality - including the Polish and Northern Irish - are now fighting in the streets so at least the entire sport's being brought into disrepute.

Someone on Mock the Week suggested tying Brexit to being allowed to play in the Euros and the continental games. After the last day's conduct, I'd frankly support it. Fucking dismal.

Fun fact: England never won an opener at EC.

Another fun fact: With Rooney as midfielder, Kane at corners, useless Lallana and a guy like Vardy warming up bench whole game they shouldnt expect any better result.

Rooney actually played well in that role last night, and he's certainly better suited there supporting someone like Kane - or, indeed, Vardy or Rashford - than he is anywhere else. Some may remember the short-lived experiment/disaster of playing him on the left wing at the last world cup.

Sterling deserves to be singled out more than Lallana. A good idea might have been to take off Sterling and put Vardy on.

I could have understood putting the lone striker on corner duty if he was any good at them, but several of them were way too high and long.

Slagging off Lallana for last night's performance means you weren't paying attention.

He was excellent in the first half. His movement and closing down caused Russia all kinds of problems. That Kyle Walker had so many free overlaps throughout the game is a testament to that.

Vardy should have come on though. Perhaps even a straight swap for Kane and have Rooney, Milner or Dier play the ball in behind Russia when they came forward after England took the lead.

Its been a tourney of good goals.

Rooney unshackled has always been great. He does well when he roams around and plays off a target man, like a Kane or an Ibrahimovic.

The scenes coming out of France post the England - Russia match has convinced me to protest any sort of international level tournament that may happen in my hometown.

Not that it ever will, but its nice to judge other people's stupid drunk actions.

I think Corluka would have had fewer shots to the head if he'd been getting in amongst all the street-fights. The skill of a footballer isn't determined by how much/well they can take kicks and blows to the head but if it were he would be in for an early shout for player of the tournament.

Ah Matt Ritchie, if you hadn't spectacularly shat the bed in injury time in Hampden Park against the Poles and allowed Lewandowski to score that equaliser, it could be us exchanging blunt attacks with the Northern Irish just now. Prick.

NI were far too defensive in team selection today. Needed more of a threat on the break from the start rather than having essentially seven defenders sitting back and a striker cut adrift.

I'd love it if England were kicked out due to Gary from Millwall.

After Watching Ireland v Sweden no one's allowed to say anything about English impartiality during their matches. Fucking hell the way BBC were going on you'd think Liverpool were playing.

So glad Russia are crashing and burning. Karma for their shitty fans acting up.

Edit: Although, an embarrassing defeat will just make the scumbags act worse. I feel bad for the Slovakian fans for what they might have to deal with later.

It's really amusing that Wales have a player who's so much better than anyone in England, with all due respect to Wales.

Also, Irish fans being Irish some more:

Thank fuck for that equaliser, the Irish on facebook thought Ireland had won the world cup.

And it doesn't matter where a player is from. He made his debut in England, trained in England, changed from a left back in England.
