I hate to do it but i have to go with Edge here. Kiniski will get his pop in Canada also as he's from Edmonton. This is a match where Edge gets the shit beaten out of him for most of the match but catches him with the spear to win this. Kiniski deserves to go on longer in this as he was NWA Champion for three years, winning the title from Lou Thesz in Thesz's home town. He refereed the main event of the first Starrcade. The problem is that Edge is fast enough to land a fast spear for the title, which is how this ends.

Kiniski was an incredible wrestler and performer, don't get me wrong, but I think given that Edge can pick up a win from nowhere gives him the Edge. Pun intended.

The ECW environment gives Edge a helping hand against an old school champion, because it gives him the oppurtunity to cheat with weapons. Also, Edge has had a manager or tag partner at pretty much every instance in his career, who could interfere for him in an ECW arena. Edge wins, but gets a pasting.

Edge takes the win here.He can hit the sear at any moment and at any place.also he has an advantage because he can use weapons, meaning if he is getting beaten up pretty bad then he can go outside get a chair or any other weapon and use it on kiniski and take him down.Gene Kiniski will put up a very good fight but edge will catch him with the spear out of nowhere for the win.

Edge has made a career in gimmick matches. He'll be at home here, in ECW, and in Toronto, and wins easily.

Kiniski was good, but he was never great. He's the type of guy that Edge has made a career of going over. Whether it's a clean win, or a win with the aid of weapons, this is step one on Edge's road to getting crushed by Vader :p

As a major Edgehead, I gotta send him to round 2. Edge is a guy who could thrive in an ECW environment and he will do just that. Kiniski will try to wrestle Edge, but Edge will turn it into a brawl. And I'm feeling a spear through a table setup in the corner to a bloody, woozy Kiniski.

It's a ashame Kiniski got put into this match, but at least his name is out there. The guy was a former NWA champion and AWA Champion, holding the title close to three years or more combined. Edge is an 8 time champion with maybe a year combined as total champion. This scenario easily shows the changing landscape of the business over the last half century.

Edge on the other hand is as experienced in a hardcore environement as they come. Edge couldn't have drawn a better region then ECW. The guy is known as a gimmick match wrestler, well this certainly plays to his strengths.

Edge wins this easily. Not only will he dominant this match in poll results only, but he's actually my favourite to win this whole ECW Region. While Kiniski may be a former NWA Champion, Edge is a former (and current) 8 time World Heavyweight Champion in the WWE. It's a huge accomplishment, no matter how you look at it. Plus, Edge has proven he can certainly be hardcore when he wants to be, so this match suits him as he is basically the master of weapons such as Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Plus, Edge can use his finisher, the Spear, out of nowhere thus surprising Gene. As I post this, the guy is winning 38-0. On an Edge loving Forum, does anyone expect somebody other than Edge to win this region, because I don't.

As a huge Edgehead myself. I will say that Edge wins this one cause not only can he cheat whenever he wants but he can have anybody interfere on his behalf anytime he chooses & this match is also in his hometown of Toronto. Edge wins this one with a quick spear.

not quite so sure about Edge winning this region, but he certainly wins this one, and fairly easily. In a hardcore environment you have to back Edge against pretty much anyone, given his record in gimmick matches (forget all that crap about HBK being the "the king of the ladder match". The stats show it's Edge). Doesn't even have to win with the spear: the con-chair-to is pretty nasty stuff.

Everyone's already said it, but I'll do so once more for added effect: Edge is an ace in a hardcore environment, both in his maneuvers and in his ability to get others to help him out. Being in ECW really helps out Edge, and I definitely think he will go far in this tournament precisely because of the region he is in.

Pick: Edge
