Dude, stop thinking this is something serious. It's about FUN! Namely the fun of three people who decided that I ruined the tournament last year and therefore the whole thing needed to be done as they felt it necessary.

Just like I said in the thread on this, who gives a shit about randomness and varying outcomes? This is supposed to be our centerpiece event, at the busiest time of the year, so that we can show off the intelligence and above-par knowledge this place has. The final 8 or so being about the same every year is irrelevant. It also hasn't stopped it from happening.


What is HAS done is make this into a shit show that embarrasses the forum just as much as it might attract eyes.

Yep. I'll be making some adjustments next year, assuming I actually run this thing again. This took nearly 8 hours to put together yesterday and I really don't need to waste my time so people can give someone a first round bye because it was funny to get a name they like in there before they get squashed.

Like you and I both said: this is the biggest thing we do all year. It would be nice if we had one thing that didn't turn into a joke but that's just not happening around here.

I wasn't as I had to go back and recalculate things due to the error, along with people using various ways to list people (Bradshaw, John Bradshaw Layfield, JBL etc.), along with people putting in the same name more than once and people (like say, you) not knowing how to count to 128.
