+1 Kung Fu Hustle, may as well have a Stephen Chow comedy.

The last winner should be in by default.

Alien.

Drive - Stylish, incredible use of sound, amazingly well-paced, and contains one of the coolest main characters ever.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - Frantic, hilarious, with eye-popping visuals and a brilliant script. Cult classic.

Spirited Away - One of Miyazaki's most famous also happens to be one of his best. Absolute candy to the eyes with a heartwarming and mature script and a sense of fantasy and magic not present in most films. The dub also happens to be quite good.

Man, it's hard to just pick three, but those first two are my top two films and Spirited Away is just more well-known than my real third-favorite movie, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

To save space on the list, I need you guys to do some talking about large, iconic film series. There can't be 5 bond films, 3 Star Wars films, etc. I need you all to debate amongst yourselves and pick ONE from each of the following series of movies. Most +1's takes it.

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring
LOTR: Two Towers
LOTR: Return of the King

Toy Story
Toy Story 2

500 Days Of Summer

I know I was supposed to nominate 3 but I couldn't resist including 500 Days Of Summer. I wanted to put Scarface & Apocalypse Now in my list but I've just seen they were in the last tournament, so I'm pretty sure they will make it again in this years tournament, and I like to be original in threads, so I refrained myself from picking those two or any other movies that were in the last tournament.

I'll throw in Midnight Express, Clerks, Con-Air & Boyz N' The Hood as honorable mentions.

Has anybody got a link to the nominations thread for the last tournament? I'd like to see which movies were nominated but never made the tournament.

Watch Part II. As HGR subtly alluded to, it's even better. Though I'd make a case that Part I and II are so good respectively - and so significant - that they both deserve to get in.

Just when I thought I was out... THEY PULL ME BACK IN.

+1 Big Lebowski
+1 American Beauty
+1 The Departed

Also, Leaving Las Vegas, The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and Spider-Man 2

Cool Hand Luke

The Hustler

Soldier

Major +1 on Cool Hand Luke. As far as I'm concerned it's a more awesome version of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Sorry Jack, Newman > Nicholson all da.
