2011 Elimination Chamber - Smackdown Chamber Match - World Heavyweight Championship

Edge is obviously going to win this match because it'll be a fresh feud that they've already teased on RAW. It's rather lame that they had Del Rio already make his decision as to which champion he's gonna challenge even though it already seemed like it'd be Edge anyway. But they still should have made it more suspenseful.

I think this will be a good match, but just like the RAW chamber and the Miz/Lawler match it's predictable.

Except for Edge retaining(even though id wish they would put the belt on HHH to face del rio cause that would be a much better match for del rio) idk how this chamber will really play out. Barrett has to set up for a mtch with either show or taker(prob see the corre interfere), Rey has to set up with his match with Cody Rhodes(he might also interfere) and unless ziggler, kane, and mcintyre are all just gonna be crappily thrown into the mitb(if they have it) AGAIN! then they gotta set up for there mania feud(maybe ziggler or mcintyre vs kofi). So itd be interesting to see wat they do with it

Should be decent, Elimination Chamber matches are generally hard to completely screw up and there is enough talent in here to make sure this one is no exception.

The winner does seem to be pretty cut and dry in Edge. There is no chance in hell Ziggler or McIntyre are walking into WM with the gold, Kane just had a (horrible) title reign, Wade is a chance but with a match with Taker looking likely I doubt it after all a Taker WM match shouldn't/doesn't need to be a title match. The only person other than Edge that could have a chance is Rey, setting up a Rey/Del Rio or even Edge/Rey/Del Rio WM match.

Well it seems that as far the Smackdown's elimination chamber is concern, the youth movement is HERRRRE! Drew, Ziggler and Barrett are in the chamber for the first time. This one is a no brainer, Edge will retain. The only reason that I'm looking forward for this match is to see how the newbies are going to work between them, between vets and most important their performance inside the chamber. Who knows? MAybe we get to see a beatiful peformance of Mcintyre. I highly doub it but, it is keeping me interested.

It looks to me, no one other than Edge should really win this match! He is the only guy at this point who can go on to Mania with the title and defend it against Del Rio.. Ziggler and McIntyre are good, but at this stage I don't see them wearing the gold before Mania.. There is no point in Kane winning this match as it would do nothing for him and Rey well not many people want to see that, even though he is probably the top draw in this match! I didn't mention Wade Barrett, well because I don't he will win either..

This is the least predictable match on the PPV, but it can also be the most predictable match on any other given PPV but not this one. Edge is the favourite in this one and Rey has an outside chance.

Ziggler may even win this to make Mania a Triple Threat or even a returning Christian or Jericho finds their way into this match by hook or by crook and win it. I think that something shocking is going to take place at Elimination Chamber and this match might be the one. The PPV is way too predictable for its own good and seeing how that there is always something surprising taking place in this annual build up to Wrestlemania, be it The EC or No Way Out since 2007, this might not be any exception.

I always look forward to these matches. We have a decent group here, and I will go through each contender individually as I do with all multi-man matches. Let's take a look at who will be in Smackdown's Elimination Chamber match this sunday.

Edge
The likely pick to win. Edge VS Del Rio would be a great feud and lead to an epic match at Wrestlemania. Never count out the Rated R Superstar.

Drew McIntyre
It would be awesome to see Drew win, but since Del Rio inherited the push that was going to be his, I doubt McIntyre will win. He will probably be last elimination though.

Mysterio
No. Just NO. He shouldn't even BE in this match. Big Show or Zeke could have taken his place.

Kane
In the match for a couple of cool spots and an elimination or two, but he won't win. He got his title reign and will probably never get another.

Wade Barrett
Same as Drew, it would be awesome but I doubt we will be seeing two rookies square off in Barrett VS Del Rio. Hey though, it could be a great feud during the summer if Del Rio has become champion. I'd buy that.

Ziggler
The self proclaimed uncrowned champion might win this one. Or Edge will sneak in a win somehow. Ziggler has the best odds other than Edge, especially if Del Rio manages to turn face. ANYBODY who has Vickie in her corner will be a heel no matter what, and I don't know if they'd turn Del Rio face just to feud with Ziggler.

I'm leaning towards Edge, for the reasons stated under my thoughts on Ziggler winning. Although Ziggler has the second best odds after Edge, I'll give Edge the win because he and Del Rio could potentially steal the show at Wrestlemania and the feud would be epic, Edge IS the best choice to come out the winner in this match and to feud with the royal rumble winner.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
Edge will win the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match.

Would love to see Drew win but doubt it, barret is a good shout but these are my percentage of chances
Kane - 5%
Rey - 5%
Dolph - 20%
Wade - 10%
Drew - 10%
Edge - 50%
Just don't really see anyone but edge winning.

Edge is obviously going to win this one. IMO Kane and Rey have had their reigns slowly slipping down the totem pole on Smackdown. The other 3 will one be World Champions but right now are not cut out for it.

if we remember last year's WM, the WHC was the 'first' of the main event just after the Bret-Vince match which flattened the crowd, i remember watching it and being disappointed that two of my favourite wrestlers from my childhood were having a great match with no atmosphere, almost like playing it on SvR. but my point is that the WHC is clearly the least cared about main event so WWE may look to spice it up a bit, by hopefully having a triple-threat match at WM, Edge-Del Rio- and either ziggler or mcintyre, with the latter winning the EC.

Ideally, for me, I'd want to see Drew McIntyre win it with help from kelly kelly (they have that weird thing going on and he blames edge for Kelly getting fired), then edge will dispute the result changing what would be McIntyre-Del Rio into triple threat.

OR, on a totally different thought process - Christian Returns, wins, edge-christian-del rio at WM.

WWE is doing this whole Edge/Ziggler WHC whose fired, whose champion all messed up.. I'm not excited about this match at all..

with Ziggles out who will take his place? or will he still in the chamber... I really think this will give us the return of Christan and he will hang in the chamber for awhile and getting outed by Edge or Barrett

With this recent development there is now some question as to who will take the place of Dolph Ziggler in this match. At the moment I think this question is actually bigger than who will win the match. Whoever that person may be, could give us an indicator of who is really facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania. This would be the perfect way to introduce whoever that is without having to spoil his Monday Night Raw return by having someone else unexpectedly arrive as well (stealing the thunder so to speak). This theory leads me to believe that no matter who wins it, it won't be this replacement competitor. I am also not so sure that Edge walks out as Champion. I think this is so up in the air there is no telling what will happen, and that's the way it should be.

I'm very much interested to see what will happen in this match. On one hand, it seems like an obvious win for Edge but there are still the wildcards like Mysterio and now Dolph being out of the Chamber, it makes me wonder if Christian will take his spot (a lot of speculation towards him) or if Dolph will get "re-hired" which seems more likely.

My prediction would be Edge or someone who would take Dolph's spot.

I'm going to call a shocker on this one... Someone from the WWE #1 contenders Elimination Chamber match will win the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event -- likely John Cena.

No, I'm NOT calling Del Rio Vs Cena at Wrestlemania with that prediction, either. I'm not sure what they'll do exactly afterward but its an intriguing proposition.

As much as i wanted to see Ziggler in the chamber, this is the perfect opening to do wat ive been saying should be done this whole time!!! put in TRIPLE H! if Vince really wants smackdown to be the main show for WWE then why not put the game on it??? Raw has Cena and Orton, SD lacking star power right now, and like ive been saying all along, this would give Hunter the PERFECT oppritunity to come back and a face/heel! i know wat your saying a face and a heel whaaa??? YES!!!! just how he was in the past and edge and jericho pull off perfectly, make him face but have him mess with Del rio and kinda be an @$$hole! Triple H in my opinion(on paper that is) is the only guy to put over Del Rio well and have a wrestlemania worthy match with him!

HHH! HHH! HHH! HHH! HHH! HHH! HHH!

Trips is done for the most part, man. He's going to wrestle Undertaker at WM in a career vs streak match, just like HBK, and is most likely going to lose so he can focus on his backstage position.

In the unlikely event that Christian or even Jericho returns and take the final spot, the final spot could very well impact 2 21 11. As a poster had already mentioned, it could very well be HHH if WWE decides to throw a curveball.

With that aside, it might be as disappointing as someone like Big Show or Ezekiel Jackson taking up the final spot or even Ziggler somehow returning to fill it. It could even be a Chamber match with only 5 participants. However, this match is not as predictable as it is right now. Its either Edge or the mystery participant winning the gold.

I'm used to being disappointed when it comes to WWE decisions and PPV's.. but this year? idk, Vince seems to be focused on trying to turn the WORST Wrestlemania in to possible best one in years! So it could be anyone's ball game..

Maybe even a returning Diesel? I doubt it would be HHH. I think HHH will return 2/21 or even the following week

Well since last SD!, we only have the ensurance, that Edge will retain...

I mean Ziggler was a 7 minutes WHC, so Edge isnt going to be WHC for only 3 days...

That would really put the tittle right next to IC championship credibility!!!

Well, the EC will only be used for give steam to McIntyre, Barret and Mysterio.

Next SD! i'm hoping to see:

Or
Edge (c) vs Drew McIntyre;

Cody Rhodes facing off Mysterio;

Or

Alberto del Rio just talking shiit about Edge and how is is destiny to win the tittle, and something like that, and being interrupted by Ziggler saying that he deserves is tittle shot and that Teddy Long couldn't fire him, because he has some clause on his contract that only Vickie can fire him, or even VKM re-hired again..
Edge getting in the middle, and they start to punch each other...

And Teddy Long doing a tag match, with Edge and the 5th guy at EC vs Ziggler and Del Rio!!

Mysterio vs Swagger for MITB oportunity
Cody Rhodes cause Mysterio to lose, and then they face off, talking shiit about each other...

Here is an open ended question that fits this match today...

If Christian (or any other competitor) were to win their first world title reign inside the chamber does that lose some of its luster (magic) when compared to winning it in a singles match?

What I'm asking is, would Christian winning today lose some of its luster (because of the match style) if compared to an Eddie Guerrero style win over Brock Lesnar for his first world title reign in 2004?

Personally, it feels bigger when there is no gimmick - a straight up one on one match (with the Guerrero one being the perfect example) with the guy winning the title for the first time in his career.

What do you think?

I think one of the bigger questions is if they are going to add a sixth superstar to the match. Everything on WWE.com shows that there isn't going to be a "mystery" person added and they will go on with only 5 superstars.

what, and start with someone standing there for 5 mins?

or having an empty chamber? the SD! roster would be killing each other for that place to be world champ!

There will be 6 competitors, trust me.

Big Show?

Edge will win. It's too predictable.

The more intriguing question is who is the 6th man? This chamber has 3 heels, 2 faces. Before, it was 4 heels, 2 faces. WWE probably realized that having 4 heels in the match was a bad idea and that's what led to the Ziggler "firing". The 6th person will likely be Big Show. He is the most likely and logical choice for the last spot. As to who I WANT it to be, a good curve out of left field who be Booker T getting off the announce table to compete. It could also be a previously defeated Kofi Kingston doing double duty. My other choice would be ADR pulling double duty and going into the Chamber. I don't think WWE will book 4 heels in this match though.

Prediction: Edge will retain the World Heavyweight Championship

With Edge winning back his World Heavyweight Championship to become a 11 time Champion, Edge is a near guarantee to walk out of the Chamber with the title. A 90% guarantee, I might add. Rey, Barret, Drew, Kane, and the final participant (Ziggler reinstated in the match, Jericho returns and takes the spot, or Big Show takes the spot to further the feud with Barret, or Rhodes is cleared to participate and feuds with Rey). Either way, Edge for the win.
