WWE RAW LD 7/18/2011 - The Day After The Night Before

I'd love for them to never mention it again and leave it lingering. Give you guys something new to complain about.

I'd love if they just dropped it and never, ever mentioned it again. It's a stupid angle, and it's one that they came up with 2 years ago, didn't know where they were going with it then and still don't have a clue where it's going now. They have no idea who the anon GM is just like we don't, they're just making this shit up as they go most of the time and they still haven't figured out what the fuck to do with that anonymous GM. So yes, please, drop that shit and never mention it again. It reminds me oh so much of the guest hosts that RAW had all the time two years ago and how fucking awful RAW became during that time.

I'm still disappointed we never found out who was behind GTV.

It was Goldust dude. It was Russo's idea for a way to bring Goldust back on TV, but then both Russo and Dustin left for WCW so it got dropped.

I actually was just watching some of Dustin Rhodes stuff in WCW in late 99 early 2000 and man, he was really fucking over with the fans from his debut and his feud with Jarrett, man, they could have actually elevated him if they wanted to. Of course this was WCW though, so, y'know...shit happens.

I fail to see how it's a stupid angle. I'd much rather have Cole/Anon GM than Teddy fuckin' Long. God he's the worst ever, just glad he's always on Smackdown.

The anonymous general manager is just a good way to tie the show together, without introducing GM biases. You don't have evil boss, you don't have good boss, you just have the boss.

Or you could just not have a boss and just have people fuckin' wrestle like they did for 100 years or so.

Except wrestling today isn't like wrestling 100 years ago. When you have 4 or 5 hours of original TV programming each week, you have to have justification for the things you do. In order to make things more entertaining, you run angles which build to a match. If you didn't do things this way, can you imagine how redundant pro wrestling on TV would be?

Managers don't exist, so someone has to be responsible for making matches. With a GM, you have the ability to make matches "on the fly", which adds an element of unpredictability to a show, which keeps people watching.

I miss a lot of things about old school wrestling, and I don't like GMs, either, but they're necessary to today's product. It's just the way it is.

I hope it's Shane. Probably won't be, but I hope it is.

Have I mentioned I love your sig Nick? 'Cause I do. That was one of DeNiro's absolute finest performances ever, and probably his most underrated. Scorsese's most underrated film too.

Everything looks good in comparison to Teddy Long. I'd be a better GM than Teddy Long.

In fact, I've just decided that the Anonymous Raw GM should be revealed to be Teddy Long:

"And I quote: "Tonight, I am finally ready to reveal myself to the world. You feel me, playah? HOLLA!""
