To grow the company. Selling to Sinclair gave the company an opportunity to be the only wrestling company on broadcast TV and have ownership with an increased ability to invest in production. They just ran their most successful show ever 2 weeks ago, they are far from failing.

Seriously you can't believe this. What's the point? If ROH makes a profit, then the guys running the thing don't get it, Sinclair does. Why sell out if you're raking a profit? It doesn't make sense. You can make TV deals, you don't need to sell out to do it. Or, if you do need to sell out, then it proves you're not promoting a successful product.

And when you say "successful show", you're only talking about buys, not profits.

Any DVDs they want to use him in, the T-shirts that will go on clearance when he leaves, etc.

Bullshit, because they produced the merch when he was in the company, and they don't need him to release WWE DVDs.
