All WWE films are only limited release to theatres for that exact reason, so they can be fast-tracked to dvd.

it was a limited theatrical engagement with the DVD coming out a few weeks later. It was designed like that (as were the previous few WWE Studios movies). This way they only pay for marketing once, and they know that they won't be big Box Office moneymakers, they rush to DVDs.
