This fantasy football thing is unimaginably shit - I've been forced to switch to a 5-3-2 system this round, because it can't handle formation changes without deselected players who've already played their games.
Couple that with player's point totals changing as much as 48 hours after their game, in a system that is dependent on making constant substitutions - I'm on the verge of giving it up as a bad job already.
I'm not very happy with it either, it's been badly put together, but your issue is logical. Obviously you can't have people changing teams during the middle of the round. I think the option to transfer opens again tomorrow, or at least it should.

Apparently not until the groups are over. Still, you should be able to swap between the squad you have.
It has nothing to do with changing my squad, it's changing which of my players are on the field - which is an integral part of the game.
You are supposed to move players in and out of your team as they play their matches - obviously you can't move somebody into your team once they've played their match (duh) but being able to replace them with a substitute is an integral part of international fantasy football. It's why we have three goalkeepers for seven rounds.
Similarly, you should be able to change formation - and the way I know this is that there is an option to change formation mid round. The problem is that the system can't account for gaps in your team.
I was playing 3-5-2, with a midfield of Player-Player-Gap-Player-Player, and changed to a 4-4-2 system. Unfortunately when you change system it automatically removed whichever player is furthest to the right immaterial of logic, and then gives you no option to reverse the switch. This is just poor integration of the gameplay.
