I think Mason Ryan needs to be released for his own good. The only reason WWE keeps him around is because of his eerie resemblance to Batista, and they're hoping he can replicate Batista's success. If he finds work elsewhere, he'll be able to get out of Batista's shadow.
Zack Ryder is a bit of an anomaly. Employment wise, he's "safe" from the chopping block. However, I think he WANTS to be released, but because he sells so much merchandise, WWE won't let him go. He's trying to get fired with his Twitter rants, but WWE sees through it, and rather than granting him a release, they will keep him on and hold him down as a jobber for life while continuing to milk him for merchandise sales.
I wouldn't mind if Ted DiBiase Jr got released either. I don't hate the guy, it's just that he has the least to lose in the event of a release. Ted DiBiase will be Ted DiBiase no matter where he goes because it's his real name. Meanwhile, someone like Alex Riley or anyone else who never worked in the indies or were only there for a short time has no choice but to start over from scratch with a new name. I wouldn't mind if Alex Riley were cut and allowed to succeed elsewhere, but only if WWE lets him keep the name. Without the established "Alex Riley" name, he has no name value and thus it will be harder for him to get work.
