Leader Of Men-Nickelback

Now, I know this bands name is considered Taboo among a lot of people here. But I have somewhat of a soft spot guilty pleasure thing for this band. My ex absolutely loves this band and even after we broke up we remain very close friends,no naturally I would listen to this band quite often. I'm not a fan of all the stuff from silver side up after(Although All The Right Reasons I thought was pretty good) so I much prefer the older stuff, when they actually wrote meaningful songs. So I've been pretty much listening too them a lot lately and I've always considered Leader Of Men to be one of their best songs and one of, if not my favorite from them.

I know I might be the minority here but I find Nickelback tolerable if in a certain mood. I usually drown out all the dirty lyrics about sex, drugs and alcohol and just listen to the hard rock. They aren't nearly has "god awful" as some people make them out to be. Still, would be nice if they didn't dominate my radio so often.

I love this song. Its pretty chilled out, and is totally different from the usual heavy nu-metal sound of Saliva. When I first heard it on my brothers ipod, I didnt even realise it was Saliva, but it has now become probably my 2nd favourite song of theirs.

Some would class it as "shitty radio-friendly rock" but I dont care, I never skip it when it comes on my speakers. I especially like the twang of the guitar after the line "I'm going to Hollywood", its awesome. Josey Scott has a very good singing voice, and I think he should show it more often

Dead Confederate

It's a shame these guys aren't more well known right now. Anyway, this is a great song from their very good first album, Wrecking Ball. This song is the first I had ever heard of them, and I honestly can't think of a time where I was more impressed by an artist's first impression on me. Listening to it earlier today was a nice reminder of their talent. This song is awesome.

This one is a very very guilty pleasure but I am hooked on this song right now. I think if more people (guys) could look past the fact that it isn't cool to like artists like LG that tons of people would become fans because she is very talented. Hell i'd do what she does to make the kind of money she does :p

Fozzy-Now Let The Madness Begin

i'll balance this post out with a great MANLY song that i'm listening to right now. Fozzy is my favorite band, Chris Jericho is my hero, nuff said.

Ahh, I've just been listening to that record myself! "Curb" and "The State" are both phenomenal records and highly underrated. I keep showing them to people who get really into it... then I tell them that it's Nickelback and they try and back away and say they don't like it hahaha. Nickelback aren't terrible... really, they're not - despite what the sheep will follow, and while their major-label albums aren't on my common rotation of albums played, I hear they put on an AMAZING live show!

The lead single off the 3rd Alter Bridge album (AB III), "Isolation" is probably the heaviest track they have released up until this point, or at least some sections of it are. Every time I listen to the band, I always think just how good Myles Kennedy's vocals are, he really does have a phenomenal vocal range and must be the envy of singers all over the world.

This was awesome live when I saw them play it on their last tour, and as I am going to see them for a 4th time in November, I expect this to be just as good then :)

I'd listened to some of the Murderdolls earlier stuff and it was alright but I felt it wasn't worth getting really. The new album 'Women And Children Last is certainly a lot better musically and lyrically overall and made me want to get it and most of thats due to this song.

White houses - Vanessa Carlton

Lovely song and nice video. :)

This is the first song I've heard by Vanessa Carlton, thanks sis, for playing this over and over again and making me fall in love with the song. :p

This a great badass song by Pantera. It`s got powerful vocals and an awesome opening riff. I always thought that it would be perfectly suited for a wrestler`s entrance theme. Great tune.

For my money, the greatest song ever made. Queen is the shit no matter what way you slice it, but this song is a fucking masterpiece. Pretty sure I heard for the first time on Wayne's World, one of my favorite movies ever too surprisingly. Even when I was a kid I loved this shit. Another one of those long ass songs that I have to listen to all the way through every time.

This song fucking rocks.

I have to agree. While it is nowhere near my favourite Queen song I would have to say it is the greatest song ever made because of all the different types of music that make up the track. You have the operatic bit, the cheesy bits, the heavy rock headbanging section...etc. Absolutely genious.

As for what I am listening to:

I went on a date with a girl last week, and we agreed to meet up this week too. She mentioned that she listened to bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park alot, so when we went out this week I made sure I had brought "Hybrid Theory" and "Significant Other" into the car so that we could play some music she liked. That was on Monday and I also enjoyed listening to the CDs', I had forgotten how enjoyable "Hybrid Theory" was, and there are some awesome songs on "Significant Other" too, although some of the others have really aged. This one will always live on though, one of the classic "moshpit" anthems.

I love the video too, it was awesome. Nice cameos from Snoop, Dre, Jon Davis and Eminem, some bouncing tits, Fred Durst and Wes Borland acting like idiots and loads of other funny stuff.

That's still one of my favourite albums although post-Meteora I kinda fell out of love with them. Having listened to HT again recently I think Papercut and Cure for the Itch are my 2 current favourites from the album, as Papercut as an opening track sets the bar for what the band/album is about: Chester and Mike sharing and contrasting their vocal styles, decent guitar riff and the scratching of Mr HAAAAAAAAHHHHNNNNN! The first time I heard Cure for the Itch I was genuinely a bit annoyed at it but it grew on me more and more.

As for the song I'm listening to now, kept seeing/hearing it on NME tv and though it's not my usual cup of tea, it's pretty catchy! The bit where it changes tempo when she sings Promises the first time is my favourite part.

Nero - Promises

I probably have to hand my penis in at the desk but oh well

Yes I'm listening to TLC.

Its just a really catchy song, yes its basically ragging on men but still its a good song. The music's decent and the singing is great and Left Eye's rap is cool.

Been listening to TDF since I was a little kid. Like they did with Bone, my Uncle and Dad used to listen to shit like this a lot when I was a kid and it always stuck with me.

I was never a fan of Cocaine, but apparently these guys were. Bootleg paints a pretty vivid picture of Cocaine fucking his life up here and the hook is just chilling to me. I saw them do this song in concert before I ever saw the video and I got to meet Bootleg too. Good night, it was.

In preperation for their gig tonight in Liverpool!

The Realies are an immensely talented band who never made it big for some reason. They were the forerunners to Oasis and actually let the Gallagher's use their recording studio in their early days. The also wrote the Oasis classics "Columbia" and "Rockin' Chair". From this song you can get a clue where Liam got his "Sunshiiiine" from!

I love this band, its a shame they never cracked the big time but they have released 3 or 4 albums which are all great. I am unsure of the actual number as there are alot of CD's of unreleased material, demos etc floating around.

I got into them through a manager at a HMV store where I was doing work experience when I was 15. He was a massive fan and we have remained friends ever since. I will be meeting up with him tonight at the gig for a drink and to enjoy The Realies. This is the 2nd time I will have seen them, and about his 35th!

Being the huge Chili Pepper fan that I am, I've really enjoyed this song. It has a strong bass line and some real funk to it, but it deviates from the usual RHCP style. It's a good indicator of what the new album will be like and it's really exciting for me, since I've been waiting for another album for a while.

Watch The Throne may be the winner of Album of The Year at the Grammy's this year ,but this electric track right here sets the tone of my days. It gets my hype thanks to this beat that truly makes you go "gorilla"! Jay's verse is vintage Jay-Z by that I mean Classic the punchlines mixed with the rhyme patterns are just amazing while Ye contrasts with a flow that seems arrogant and cocky a flow you would LOVE to hate ,but its soo good you just cant!

Staind: "It's Been Awhile"

This song right here has that je ne sais quoi that makes it simply flawless. It's an amazing song with an even better lyrics. It's the kind of song that everyone can relate to.

"It's been a while
since i could say that I wasn't addicted and
It's been a while
Since I could say I love myself as well and
It's been a while
Since I've gone and fucked things up just like i always do
It's been a while
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you"

Fuck this song feels written for me. it's in someway a downer, but it doesn't change the fact that it is a great song with amazing lyrics.

Hands down one of the best Death Metal bands, in my opinion. Atheist and Necrophagia will forever reign at the top.

A classic tune by "King Monkey", the former Stone Roses frontman. This piece of music is one of the cleverest songs I have ever heard. Correctly titled "F*E*A*R", each line spells out the word FEAR with the first letter of every word, and they all make sense.

For example:

For Everything A Reason
Forgive Everyone And Remember
Final Execution And Ressurection
For Each A Road
Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations

Sheer genious, I fucking love Ian Brown. What a tune

One of my favourite songs of all time. I have owned the album for close to 2 years and I still get goosebumps every time I hear this song. I have played it to death and yet still have not grown tired of it. Brent Smith definitely has one of the best voices in music today, such a vocal range. He starts is more of a country style and ends up displaying the immense power of his voice throughout the choruses later on in the song.

I love the lyrics too, Shinedown always write meaningful songs which people can relate to. As far as I am aware this song is about Smith's Grandfather.

I was gutted when I saw Shinedown live and this song was not in the set list, I imagine it would be world class live with the whole crowd singing along. I'm gonna listen to it again on the way home from work after singing my heart out on the way in this morning.

So my favorite band is just finishing up in the studio for their currently untitled 8th album. They have already started playing songs live and I'm gearing up for Wolf which is bound to be the first single. Whether it is or not, a single should be release soon followed by a more concrete album release date.

Suffice to say, I'm pumped. The band has stated that they are going to incorporated sounds more similar to their pre-gravity days(their most commercial sounding album to date). Which has me very excited, not too say I hate the new stuff, I love it just has much but they just have a level of creativity on their first four albums that most bands wouldn't hope to replicate. It's a sound that was completely their own, so hearing that bit of news has me giddy and overjoyed. So naturally what I do when OLP are about to release a new album, I gear up by listening to all their songs, past and even more recent.

One of my favorite songs off their last album was this song entitled Dreamland. It may not, at least musically be similar too their older work but at heart it still feels and sounds like an OLP song. Its classy, uplifting and optimistic. Just like many OLP songs, it carries a powerful message, one of getting older and seeing the world in a different light. The song even talks about every day struggles people and families deal with. The lyrics can be a little dark but Maida sings with such optimism that it seems to translate their dark and moody lyrics into a powerful and hopeful positive feeling that can move the soul.

This song has takes me to my happy place. It lightens my mood and cheers me up whenever I feel like giving up on things. So enjoy!

I love the original version of this song, but there's something hauntingly beautiful about the acoustic version. Just seeing one guy with a guitar and one guy with a microphone perform a song and have it come out sounding damn near studio quality... It's awesome.

I've always been a big STP fan. Always thought they were one of the more under-rated Grunge bands of the 90's. This is my favorite song of theirs, right up there with Interstate Love Song.

This is why youre awesome dude. You unearth gems like this that Id forgotten about, and brings me back to the time and the place where I first heard the song.

My favorite song off the EP that was released in Mayish of this year. The band was an acquired taste for me, but once I fell for them, I fell hard. my wife and I skipped out on all kinds of wedding responsibilities to see them in New York on their tribute show the week before we got married, and I dont regret it for a minute. Best show of my life, and I was so glad to have had that once in a lifetime opportunity.

However, I never thought Id hear anything new from them again. They'ld essentially broken up and were just doing a Tribute for Zimbabwe three day show at MSG. Unfortunately when they toured this year and did a few select dates, they didnt come near Pittsburgh, but it was cool hearing about the show from JGlass' perspective, and it brought back memories of the show I saw. I fired the EP up tonight, and this was the song that I found myself listening to over and again.

Thanks bro, I do try ;) I can't believe you had forgotten such a good song though haha!

One of the more underrated songs from the album "14 Shades of Grey", "Fill Me Up" is your typical angst filled Stain'd song with the emotion pouring from Aaron Lewis. I love that album, album every song is great until the last couple and its awesome that such a good song is hidden away in the middle of the album, like an undiscovered nugget of gold!

Great chorus, great vocals, great riff. "Fill Me Up" robably rivals "So Far Away" as my favourite Stain'd song!
