You know what's a real pain in the ass? When you get a big group of people to go see a movie and you're the only responsible timekeeper, so you have to figure out all the times people can/cannot and such. You do all the work, you finally settle on something like a week ahead of time to give people notice, and then the night of or the night before, everyone cancels one by one, and when you get pissed at them, they think you're just being an asshole.
I'm personally one of those people that lets people know if anything changes. If I'm going to be 10 minutes late, I tell them the second I get a chance to - but that rarely ever happens, because I'm almost always like 15 minutes or more early.
For the movies especially, its annoying, because 2 out of my 4 best friends are the type that don't mind missing the first 10 minutes of a film. The one of them always says "if its a 10 o'clock show, the movie won't start until 10:30. Its all previews". Well...first off..no. The movie typically DOES start at 10. Maybe 10:05 if they're running late. Secondly, the movie isn't going to wait for you. If you show up late, you're missing part of it. Third, you paid for this. Wouldn't you want your 10 bucks to be worth it?
