Video Games Tourney hype thread

Never played the Final Fantasy series, I have no interest in doing so, but I can't deny they are some of the most visually beautiful games I have ever seen.

I grew up in the era of 8 bit, I could give a fuck less about how pretty the graphics look, I care more about Fun factor, something that, for me at least, has always been very low in FF games, I find myself getting bored with shit like GTA as well, and the only shooters I've ever been able to get into are Halo and Half life 2

I much prefer games I can just pick up play for a bout 20-30 mins. and then put down and run off to do something else

I intentionally voted against FF7 last night because people were just saying that it shouldn't have been in the competition. That somehow, it had transcended the competition and would be winning no matter what. So, I voted against it.

Here;s the thing about Halo. It gets a bad name because of all the Halo fan boys out there. I am a 360 fan but I hate Halo because of how over-rated it it. It is a good game but it is not the end all and be all of Microsoft gaming. The multiplayer can be a lot of fun too. The story on the single player was pretty rocking too.

What the fuck is so bad about Halo?, Halo is to X-Box what Mario is to NES, what Sonic was to Sega, Halo is a fun game especially if you have friends playing with you, I loved doing the campaign story with friends, or just playing a few death matches, always made for some good times, and isn't that what video games are suppose to fucking be about in the first damn place! FUN!!

I'll be backing Deus Ex again. I quite enjoyed the last tournament, gave me inspiration to go back and play a bunch of classics I hadn't played in years. Large chunks of that summer were spent playing Duke Nukem 3D for the first time in years.

you could always give names to the party in Oregon Trail. At least in every version since 1990-91, which was the first time I played the game.

You've been able to name them since the early versions. In the one I listed you even get to assign skills and all that shiz.

Our journey ran out of food. Irish died, Sly got a fever and you broke your arm. I had to call the thing off at that point. I'm digging out the most up to date version for a bit of fun.

On another topic Norcal, did you ever look in to picking up Fire Pro R? I can remember us exchanging PMs about it back in the day and you being all "I'm gunna buy a PS2 for that game".

And who remembers the Logical Journey of the Zoombinies? That game was the fucking BOMB!
