Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
Figured it's as good a time as any to explain how Sly and I have put together the field this year.
First off we both listed our top 128. This presented some issues as we didn't set criteria but it got us debating more which is always a good thing. Then we came to a conclusion: we had zero desire to sit down and seed 128 guys in order. One of us made the suggestion of bunching them up, which is exactly what we did.
We looked at our lists and came up with 22 groups of four. In essence, we took the top four guys and made them all #1 seeds (in no order, as is the rest of the 21 groups). At the live draw, I'll have a pile of 1's, a pile of 2's, a pile of 3's etc all the way up through 22's. These are all considered to be on the same level as anyone else in their respective pile and will be chosen at random.
That leaves the remaining ten groups of seeds, or 40 names. This is where Sly and I kind of agreed we had neither the time nor the desire to actually list off 128 names in order or in 32 different groups. What I'm going to do is come up with a list of roughly 80 names and throw them in a hat. I'll draw out 40 of them, one for each spot needed in the field as that draw comes up. There is an equal chance of either guy getting in or not getting in and it's pure luck of the draw.
The criticism I'm expecting here is "But KB, so and so belongs in this!". These names will be taking up the 89th-128th spots. If a guy is the 89th best wrestler, does it really matter one way or another who he's facing? I don't think so.
Are there any questions? And please don't ask if a person is going to be in as I'll ignore it. Also I won't say who is what seed, as we don't have them all set at this point.
