Know what else is stupid? Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes on pay-per-view being non-title. If Orton wins and then feuds with someone else, explicitly proving that the reason it was non-title was so such a thing could happen, then I will snort derisively every time a desperate attempt is made to maintain kayfabe from now on. Not that I already don't, but, you know, I'll do it louder.

How so? TNA deserves one but WWE doesn't? Racist.

True. I suppose we're just meant to ignore the notion that some wrestling is marginally less silly than other wrestling.

Also Rhodes/Orton should be for the IC title. Call it a step down for Orton if you like but he'd bounce back easily. Jericho and Miz both dropped down to tags after being champ, and they're doing/did fine. They've spent a lot of time making the IC belt awesome only for it to be implied that Orton's above actually competing for it.

I enjoy the work of both Josh Mathews and Matt Striker, though I'm not entirely sure what qualifies as play-by-play.

Calling the holds and the moves I think.

"Daniel Bryan goes for the Lebell Lock, but Swagger powers out! Gutwrench Powerbomb from Swagger!"

I think it's that sort of thing.

For me it's the unrealistic recycled lines which nobody would ever conceive of concocting on the spot. I can't think of any examples off the cusp, there's just certain things which sound so engineered and I'm a big purveyor of unforced and spontaneous works so it gets on my tits, to be frank.

No. You're supposed to realize that fan's have different tastes and that there isn't one company that is always right or wrong.

It's particularly jarring since Rhodes brought back the old-school title with the idea of making the title mean more. The fact Orton would pass up on the title makes the move seem like one step forward and two back.

Like the roster walking out due to feeling unsafe? Or John Cena's unexplained hatred of Del Rio?

While I would like for Orton/Rhodes to be the title, it could be argued that Orton hasn't actually done anything to warrant a title shot. Although I don't catch SD all the time and I may misremember the results, but I don't recall Orton beating Rhodes one on one in the current incarnation of this feud. If Orton won tonight and then got a title shot, it would be great for the title.

It won't happen, but it would be nice.

Indeed. I'm afraid it's that which turns me off WWE when I do. The overly contrived, I can't stand it. I just feel like overly scripted shows are a way for the guys above to try to overly control the talent and we never get an accurate representation of how good they are, what they can do by themselves. It's what happens ANY time the people at the top want to stay in control, they limit what the workers can do to make sure it's more safe but safe entertainment environments aren't particularly riveting for the viewer and ironically those people in charge end up killing their own business because they wanted to account for every risk and maximize their financial gain from it.

I'm too ofay with the WWE format. Even the brief CM Punk spell has quickly become so stale and stagnant that it's like watching Stone Cold as the corporate world champ in 2001, a sorry spectacle in comparison to what they were or could be. Every time I watch a WWE match I'm like 'so he's the champ and he's the one going for the title but he's the contender so firstly the match isn't going to end clean unless the contender is a physically dominating one in which case he may. Otherwise it'll be a DQ or count-out with this guy looking stronger going into the PPV' I'm not for a second going to pretend that the PPV frequency isn't a contributing issue but WWE really make it hard for themselves doing things that they do.

Last year they caught thunder in a bottle (an expression I probably horribly mis-quoted but I saw KB write a while ago) with The Nexus. Watching the slow-collapsing of them like a flan in a cupboard (a phrase I quite accurately quoted by Eddie Izzard) was almost stomach-churning. They went from having eyes which hadn't surveyed WWE television in the longest time placed firmly upon them and total domination to 'please somebody kill them, it's inhumane to keep them alive in this sorry state' a mere 6 months later. How they managed so drastically to sabotage their own creation astounded me, 'surely it isn't hard to put these guys over as a threat, maybe just have John Cena NOT decimate every one of them single-handedly?'. You don't take risks, you never know.

I can stomach hearing Jeff Hardy stumble over lines that he made up himself more than Randy Orton's typical promos (and I like Randy Orton's promo ability) for the sake of knowing that there is some bit of heart, some feeling, a little bit of anything in what he's saying.

This is why I'll take the monthly James Storm curve-ball, the 'god-awful TNA booking' over logical, sensible, clever, predictable, mundane, never ending tripe that WWE spin out on a weekly basis. I watch WWE, but I am a TNA fan first and foremost.

/rant.

Orton's beaten Rhodes about 3 or 4 times in the last few weeks before also kicking his ass and busting open. That normally warrants a title match.

What I was getting at; on reflection, worded badly. Apologies.

Yup.

Please tell me WWE isn't planning on billing Orlando Colon as a Mexican when he clearly looks like Primo with cornrows. While I'm at it, Hunico looks like Anarquia and acts a bit like him. That's scary.

Well Epico was always billed from Mexico in FCW. Of course Epico wore a mask in FCW (while Orlando (billed as Tito) was billed from Puerto Rico) and was billed from the same place as Hunico.

But we don't know where he was billed from this week because he got a jobber entrance.

Yeah, that would be crazy. Almost as crazy as having a stable called Mexican America which is made up of two Americans, a Puerto Rican and a Canadian.

This is the first time I ever figured out who someone was after a name change purely from their recognizable stupidity. Although it appears I was at least one name change behind so maybe you were marginally less stupid for a while.
