The [OFFICIAL] Crock Spews Shit Thread

I've never got round to reading X's reviews. They've been on 411mania recently, and I don't trust going on that site and not getting a virus.

Not that your post proved it.

Punk is at the center of the A-show and has been for months. Invoking a guy on the fringes like Ryder illustrates no meaningful point.

Alberto Del Rio was the WWE champion, and I didn't see anyone arguing that he was the number 1 guy, nor should they have. He probably wasn't even in the WWE's top 5 of importance.

Orton draws more, gets louder reactions, puts on consistently better matches, and is used to carry the title and the show. Punk has had the lofty privilege of working with Cena and Triple H. However, that wasn't a privilege granted because Punk is the number 2 guy in the WWE, it's a privilege granted because he's not ready to carry a feud on his own.

Because he clearly wasn't the center of attention.

CM Punk was.

The B-title. On the B-show. And match quality means nothing.

When's Orton had the hottest selling wrestling shirt in years?

You just want to disagree with people who like Punk. Get over it.

Oy vey. People certainly weren't saying the same thing when Orton feuded with those guys. Because it's ******ed. We're talking about Punk and Orton here, not R-Truth. Working with the top guy in the company brings everyone up a notch, but neither Punk or Orton needs to be carried. What an utterly obtuse stance you're taking.

For about two months Punk has been the center of attention on the A-Show, while Orton has been the center of attention on the B-Show since he's arrived there.

Furthermore, Orton being the lead on the B-Show illustrates the amount of faith the WWE has in him as they trust him to garner ratings and bring in Friday night viewers. When they trusted Punk to do that, it failed.

Match quality means nothing? This coming from the man who wanted Daniel Bryan to be voted Wrestler of the Year during the EOTY awards last year?

Not sure, I don't really pay attention to clothing sales. But little hot streak (which is what sold so many t-shirts) does not make one the number two guy in the company. Punk lacks something Orton has brought to the WWE, and that's consistency. Punk hasn't displayed that yet.

Whether that's because the WWE hasn't figured out exactly how they should push him yet or because of Punk's own skill (I'd lean toward the former) is irrelevant, he's still not on the same level as Randy.

Don't paint me out to be Sly. I like Punk, but I don't like how over hyped people are getting about him. He's clearly the third biggest star in the WWE, but Cena and Orton are the clear number one and two.

I believe it is you that are looking at this argument obtusely. Neither man needed to be carried, but neither could do what they did alone either. And at the end of the day, Punk needs Triple H, John Cena, and the Triple H.

Furthermore, comparing the current CM Punk to Randy Orton when he was feuding with Cena and Triple H is ridiculous. CM Punk is awesome, and Orton sucked at that time. He's come a long way since his face turn, and in that time he has become the number two guy in the WWE.

Likewise, CM Punk has come a long way since this current incarnation of Punk, and he could quite possibly overtake Orton one day. However, until Punk shows the level of consistency that Orton has, he'll always be number 3.

What does how long Punk has been the number two guy matter? He's been number two since he cut that scathing promo before MITB and that's all that's important.

Furthermore, Orton being the lead on the B-Show illustrates the amount of faith the WWE has in him as they trust him to garner ratings and bring in Friday night viewers. When they trusted Punk to do that, it failed.
Nothing failed. The WWE simply lacks the stomach to follow through with most things.

Also, Orton's not exactly setting the world on fire on SmackDown. He's having some good matches, but attendance is in the dumps. You're going to go on to knock Punk's drawing power but are you going to accept Orton's shortcomings in that area? I doubt it.

Match quality has to do with taste. My tastes say DBD was the best wrestler of last year. Doesn't mean he's the company's number two guy, next in line to Cena's throne.

Not sure, I don't really pay attention to clothing sales. But little hot streak (which is what sold so many t-shirts) does not make one the number two guy in the company. Punk lacks something Orton has brought to the WWE, and that's consistency. Punk hasn't displayed that yet.
The Voice has been on NBC for half a season, yet NBC is already prepared to build their network around it for a second year in a row at midseason. What's hot is hot. What works works. Results are results. The fact that it's just started working lately doesn't somehow its success. And the WWE is smart enough to see that and have accordingly made Punk number two and the main focus of a lot of their product.

Whether that's because the WWE hasn't figured out exactly how they should push him yet or because of Punk's own skill (I'd lean toward the former) is irrelevant, he's still not on the same level as Randy.
You're right. He's on the level above him.

However, until Punk shows the level of consistency that Orton has, he'll always be number 3.
Why are we putting "consistency" on a pedestal? Right now is all that matters.

To answer your question Crocky, no I haven't had a second fight. I've been entertaining the idea, but after I had a light follow up surgery on my ankle I took things easy for a month or so...maybe too easy and I gained a bit of weight. Dropping that weight and if it's down to about 160 and I feel good around November I'll probably take a second fight.

Rad that you saw Hughes, the SoCal area is actually cool for mma fans because it's not uncommon to see some decent names training in some areas. I actually saw Phil Davis couple weeks back when I was checking out the new Nog gym in San Diego. I've debated on staying with a friend for a couple months so I can train there, big funding is needed though so I'm still debating.

I've been training for fun, but nothing serious. Just working on a bit of kickboxing and the like. It's actually very entertaining. If I ever wanted a fight though, I'd definitely drop down to like 160 or 170. I've been at 185 ever since football and I'd get wrecked at Middleweight, even if I am fast and strong, I'd rather use that at a lower weight. Like I said though, I'm not really training for it, maybe some day down the line I'd try one fight.

I love Phil Davis! I heard Hughes was in town so I drove by and saw Jeremy Horn and I think I saw a glimpse of Pat Miletich. The Nog gym would be an amazing experience for a fighter. I'm sure you'd get exponentially better.

That's the hardest thing man...deciding which weight you should be. I'm 5'9'' so I'm not very tall but I'm naturally heavily muscled so I have to keep my BMI in fucking check. Ideally there would be a 160 lbs weight class but the universe hates me so there isn't. Lightweight is where I belong for sure, though I would try to be a tough guy and fight at 170 for sure. At 155 I have a height advantage sometimes as well as reach so it works. Life is all about fun man, mix it up. More people could use some kickboxing/grappling in their life. It really does wonders for not just fitness but mental health as well.

Davis was much bigger than I would imagine. The dudes shoulders are massive. I wanted to get a picture with him but he kinda bailed out ebfore I got the chance to talk to get a pic but apparently he is there some what often so if I get the chance to train there for a bit I may run into him again. I'm sure it would be awesome to train there for a bit but damn...that makes me nervous ha. I get schooled by purple belts regularly as it is. I've been getting much better grappling wise but the dudes that train there are dead serious and don't fuck around. I would be humbled for sure.

The ground game is so much harder than most people think. It's so easy to get caught in a submission, but you have to keep moving, try to mount offense, etc. It's hard.

I'm fairly tall, 6'2", close to 6'3". I have quite a bit of muscle, but I have a hard time gaining weight, so cutting would be easier. I'd be a massive Welterweight. Middleweight would be the best, but like I said, I'd get wrecked. Good thing I'm not a fighter. :lmao:

Matt Hughes is also pretty huge. Guy's built. I can see Davis being fairly big, actually.
