The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

NXT Belfast last night

A few thoughts:

Hugo Knox is a strange type of athlete. Built like a brick shithouse but flies about with drop kicks and split-legged moonsaults.

NXT want Bobby Roode to be booed. It wasn't working, especially as it was something of a surprise for him to be there and he was introduced as Bobby rather than Robert.

No Way Jose is entertaining.

Tye Dillinger should be a face. Cien Andrade Alamas is good but that name is ghastly.

Revival/Alpha had a real old school match. The teasing of the hot tag to Jordan went on for a long time and reached fever pitch by the time it came. Pity we didn't get to see Shatter Machine or Grand Amplitude though.

Carmella singing "Heeeeeeeeeey hey Bayley..." to announce her as her partner was great.

Ah, Bayley. Still popular with everyone. Including a 33 year old Roman historian, who bought one if her t-shirts...

Asuka/Jax/Bliss will have a nice triple threat worked out by the time this tour is over. Last night, it lacked a better end sequence and a bit of variety in match layout beyond the usual "one of the three outside the ring leaving a one on one in the ring."

Team New Japan vs Team ROH in the main event was a nice treat.

Man, Tye Dillinger tries so hard to get people to boo him. Like, he was going for the cheapest heat imaginable. But we kept telling him his insults were a 10. It was awesome.

I'm super jealous that Barbosa got Revival vs. American Alpha. We got Alpha versus a couple of jobbers. Still fun, but not as.

About twenty beers were thrown up in the air when Nakamura did his middle rope thing. Everyone in my area was drenched. Also, people didn't seem to realise Roode was on this tour, so they were freaking out.

Obviously, the pop for Balor was fucking deafening. He's also fantastic at selling in person.

Also, Bayley is just swell.

It’s the week after Takeover and possibly the last taping cycle before the Brand Split really screws things up. Not a lot of major changes took place last week aside from new Tag Team Champions as Revival took the belts back from American Alpha in a pretty surprising upset. Next up is Brooklyn in August so let’s get to it.

Big Damo and Noam Dar, along with Moose and Tommy End, are rumored to be part of the Fall class at the WWE Performance Center, as long as they pass the medical exams.

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD

I am so on board with the Authors of Pain. Tell me a hoss tag team isn't at the very least a nice change of pace.

I'd almost entirely forgotten about Carmella and Blanchard. Carmella's undoubtedly valuable - as a plucky midcarder. I'd definitely watch her versus Asuka. We'll see how Blanchard pans out.

Samoa Joe is one of the best promos in the business.

NorCal's on the money when he says Murphy still has gas in the tank, but has anyone thought Blake might appeal to the as yet untapped crackhead Barbie doll audience?

It upsets me when Tye Dillinger gets beaten up. Tremendous babyface.

A thoroughly excellent promo by Balor to win me back over to him. Oh, how fickle I am. Shinsuke speaks like Vito Carleone, and it's kind of wonderful. I think Finnsuke could really bring the best out of one another.

the WWE NXT roster is expected to be “raided” for the upcoming WWE brands split beginning next month. According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, while plans are changing, there were more than 6 names scheduled to be brought up from NXT in the WWE Draft.

Hmmmmmm. Guesses?

SO it doesn't get buried

Are you asking for a list? One that would include.... numbers, maybe? I guess I can break out the old numbered post thing I used to do back in the days of yore...

  1. American Alpha member Jason Jordan
  2. American Alpha member Chad Gable
  3. Mojo Rawley (Hype Bros to help fill the Tag ranks)
  4. Finn Balor (hopefully not on the same show as The Club without Bullets)
  5. Bayley (I hope not, I hope she gets her own callup some time afterwards so she doesn't get lost in the shuffle).
  6. Nia Jax or Asuka
  7. Samoa Joe
  8. The #1 Heel on NXT Elias Sampson

American Alpha
Tye
Mojo
Bayley
Finn
Aries
Asuka
Nakamura

Those seem logical. Keeps a few big names in NXT and upcoming talent in reserve to help the next crop get ready. With a few returning names, the RAW\SD rosters will be stacked & they wont have to clean out the current list of NXT names to get it done. No reason to have 100 names trying to fit into two shows.

I'd be surprised to see Nakamura called up so soon. He will challenge for the NXT title and I don't see him losing.

I'd have had Dillinger beat Cien - yes, twice - to set up the filler feud to end all filler feuds against Joe but it wasn't to be.

I think Balor and Bayley are the obvious choices, as we've all concluded, and any speculation beyond that is pretty dubious. Jax, maybe.

Balor and Bayley, obviously. I think Nia might just be about ready.

Joe is gonna stay down there longer, so Shinsuke can chase the title for a while. I don't see Joe showing up till much later in the year.

Either American Alpha or the Revival. Though I'd prefer the former.

And let's say... Elias Samson. 'Cause why not?

If the distorted memory of a school friend and a mistimed slide tackle is to be trusted, longer than a clean break. A few months.

No, I'm not yet a physio for WWE but, with in-depth medical knowledge like that, it seems like just a matter of time.

He should perform songs in his cast. It would really add to his whole cunty busker bit.

In Britain, a cunty busker is also a type of biscuit.
