The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

I wish they would actually push Tye. I'm not a fan of the karaoke shit that Full Sail do, its shit and lacks creativity. I'm assuming that alpha are going up and will lose to those goons on the way out as well.

The Breaking Ground special afterwards was incredible. I actually felt sympathy for Mojo Rawley

Best Takeover since Brooklyn for me.

Also, Nia Jax is ten times the wrestler she was in London. If she keeps improving at this rate, she'll be something great.

Edit: Also, what was up with Nakamura not selling the leg? I know selling in Japanese wrestling can be inconsistent at times, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Athena and Amanda have finally made their NXT TV debuts.

And oh shit, this feud is gonna be fun.

I'm just glad we're finally over Balor/Joe. Aside from them really wanting to give Balor the longest title reign accomplishment there was never really a reason for them to headline three straight shows. Especially when they're consistently out shined by other matches.

In fact I'm struggling to think of an NXT title match at Takeover since Zayn/Neville that wasn't out done by something earlier on the card.

Also it's far past time that NXT pull the trigger on a triple threat tag team match.

The resulting de-throning of Styles from that call up will be tremendous. That could be a great IC title match.

I watched Takeover last night.

I usually forget to watch NXT so I'm not caught up on a lot of stuff.

I thought the opening match was complete shit. I couldn't get into it at all.

Also Nakamura does little more than just creep me out. Since he was wrestling Aries I was hoping my first match seeing him was going to be awesome but I didn't go away with that feeling. Although he throws some mean looking kicks. I think if he were an mma fighter I'd like him but as a pro wrestler he's just kinda meh to me. Maybe I just can't get over the creep feeling he gives me.

The tag match stole the show for me. I hadn't seen much of Jason Jordan but I've always thought he had a good look. I really like the team with Gable. I had only seen a couple matches with The Revival before but they really impressed me.

Match of the night goes to Asuka and Nia Jax for me; very smooth action and a concise story. Jax continues to come on leaps and bounds. Foolishly, I'd come to believe that Balor and Joe's matches would only get better but Dallas and perhaps even London would be above the cage match, despite the cool finish. Balor goes back on my shit list. The tag team match was excellent, and Nakamura vs. Aries was the most I've cared about either man since their debuts.

The main question hanging over us is just where does the women's division go from here?

Moment of the night: Alpha's twin electric slides, easily.

I think me and Paul Ellering's new beefcakes are going to get on just fine. Maybe he'll talk less about the power of the internet now than he did in 98.

In defense of Balor and Joe, WWE cage match rules are dumb and tend to produce dull, lifeless matches. With a few rare exceptions, even the great ones tend to fail at making them work. And even then, I can't think of a single good WWE cage match combination that hasn't produced vastly superior non-cage matches.

I knew it was a mistake letting myself get too excited. It was fine for what it was, but it compares poorly to their previous encounters.

The door thing in cage matches still bothers me.

Amount of Finn Balor matches in which I've felt he's delivered: two. Finn Balor matches I've seen: lots. It felt like a new era and now we're back to the sinking feeling I get in my stomach when the main event's the most underwhelming match on the card.

At least with Nakamura we'll have someone who retains their character once the bell rings.

I can think of nearly ten Finn matches in which I've felt he's delivered. That's double digits (possibly!)!

Thought the show was fine, but not more so. I wasn't fond of Asuka vs. Nia. I thought it was slow and a bit ponderous which is a shame because I like both women.

Tag match was excellent along with the Authors of Pain's debut. Tye vs. Andrade was super confusing because it was counter intuitive to what they want; you have to feel that spot was destined for Elias Sampson until he broke his ankle, surely?

Nak vs. Aries was good though like many Nakamura no-selling was frustrating. I enjoyed Aries coming in with a fake rib injury, that tickled me. Main event was indicative of Balor/Joe's feud in general; it had some real potential and some damn fine moments, but it just felt below par with all the expectations.

Also, Joe has come out of this looking far, far more like a main event player than Finn who looks like he could be a phenomenal midcard special attraction but an underwhelming main eventer.
