We’re three weeks away from Takeover and the main event has been announced as Samoa Joe defending the NXT Title against Finn Balor, but this time it’s going to be taking place inside a steel cage. That’s never been done before in NXT and it should be interesting to see how NXT builds up to such a match. Let’s get to it.

She Hurt Bayley

Glad BAMF broke up. I think Murphy (under a different name) has great potential as a single. Bliss even moreso.

Austin Aries vs Nakamura is gonna be a blast.

WAS THAT THE SAME DANNY BURCH? !?!

"I don't know what to make of that....I've never heard someone refer to themselves as a Venus flytrap"

Ciampa n' Gargano Vs American Alpha is a match my body could not handle without advance notice

Another damn good Nia Jax - Bayley match

Hope Alexa's star continues to shine brightly without the obvious positive comparison to those chumps. I expect big things from her.

Yeah, that was the same Danny Burch. No way more than one guy is clamouring for that ring name.

Gargano is begging for Randy Orton to spike him into the mat, right?

No complaints here about that main event. Good show.

Love that Ciampa and Gargano are official. Gargano is someone I've been a fan of for a long long time from the local Cleveland scene. Awesome that he's having such success.

I really hope they don't take too long building to Aries turning on Nak. I wanted Aries to sock him this week. I mean, we know it's coming, so just make it happen.

TMDK! SHINSKUE PROMO!

How SHARP are those American Alpha shirts!!

The La Sombra vignette was awesome.

Been a damn fine feud between Joe and Finn.

TM61 da fuq kinda name is that?

They looked good in their debut, thought they matched up pretty well with Ciampa and Gargano. Glad to see Shane Haste showing some of his zany side, they should find a nice niche in the tag division.

We’re two weeks out from Takeover and after last week, most of the card is set. The big story is the announcement of the first ever steel cage match around these parts as NXT Champion Samoa Joe is defending against former champion Finn Balor. Other than that it looks like we’ll be getting Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Austin Aries as well. Let’s get to it.

A Surprise You Would Expect

+61 is the area code (is that the word?) for phone numbers in australia

Ah, I gotcha, didn't know that.

They did call themselves "the mighty" and stated "the mighty don't kneel" in the little promo they cut during their intro so maybe they(WWE) just took the name and made it a catchphrase.

Say what you want about Apollo Crews, but at least he has more personality than Johnny Gargano.

To steal from Max Landis, "I'm Johnny Wrestling. My thing is... I'm wrestling."

I'm fond of Gargano but doubtless I'm projecting a personality onto him. I've seen Ciampa at enough shows that he's basically an adopted Brit at this point.

Thumbs up to Nakamura and Asuka for producing cogent sentences.

The triple threat main event this week was very good.

It’s one week before Takeover: Revenge/The End and the big stories are all set. Last week saw the addition of Austin Aries vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in what could be a show stealing classic to go along with the announcement of Nia Jax as the new #1 contender to the Women’s Title. Expect a hard sell on the NXT Title match tonight. Let’s get to it.

The number one contenders to the tag team championships lost cleanly to a team who aren't the champions, Finn Balor gave a convincing interview, the theme to The End seems to be stolen from a b-tier anime - WWE clearly not in denial about who NXT's audience is - and Nia Jax showed she knew how to powerdress. In fact, the contract signing was pretty much golden. Asuka and Nakamura are inadvertenly showing that brevity is the soul of wit.

Tye Dillinger is a dark horse for the championship scene.
