The Mosh Pit: The Official Metal Thread

New Volbeat, Beartooth, and Hellyeah releases today..... Can't wait to pick up Volbeat and Hellyeah's new ones.

Haven't listened to Volbeat but I like Beartooth. Kinda depressing that their singer is one year younger than me and doing more than I am :(

Think Hellyeah are kinda boring but if you dig em, fair play

So finally succumbing to peer pressure I bought White Pony by the Deftones.

It's good

No White Pony is not good. He signs the same in everything. If not mistaken, Bored is the only good song on that album. I prefer Chino as a guest appearance artist and nothing more. Deftones are just to slow for me.

Now new Hellyeah, that album is a turn in the right direction. Such a heavy, impressive album where Grey is finally getting out of that Southern Style bullshit that killed Hellyeah. Yes, this is coming from the guy who thinks Stampede is their best album followed by Unden!able.

I haven't heard too much new stuff. I have been hooked on In This Moment - Black Widow, Hellyeah - Unden!able, Trivium - In Waves - Avenged Sevenfold - Chevelle, and Bury Your Dead.

Need new music asap.

Bored is from Adrenaline. But musically White Pony is awesome even if you think Chino's vocals are weak

In terms of new stuff Motionless In White released a new song. It's pretty good especially for the bastard children of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie

Also Parkway Drive are re-releasing Ire with new tracks and a remix of Deathless Song (one of their best)

I especially like Jenna McDougall, her vocals are great as a nice contrast to Winston McCall's. I'll have to check out Tonight Alive to see if they're any good.

Motionless In White is a good band. I recently got into Bury Tomorrow. Have you heard of them?

Parkway Drive are good as well. The song you posted is really good.

Bury Tomorrow are awesome. Have all their albums and saw them support Parkway Drive in February. Even got my ticket signed by the singer and got a photo with him as well

I prefer Jason Cameron (the clean guy). But then again if there's one guy doing cleans and the other guy doing screams I'll always lead towards the clean guy.

I agree, his cleans are very nice. The growler/screamer needs to sound louder. That of course is the studio production not the vocalist per say.

So you seem to be a metalcore fan? You also seem to be someone fun to go to a concert with.

\m/ \m/ Stat Metal, Alex

Ironically I used to hate metalcore. Didn't mind Killswitch Engage (thanks CM Punk/Guitar Hero) because of the melodic stuff. Most of my friends at uni liked it and I just got used to it. Then I got into Bring Me The Horizon's Sempiternal album which was less metalcore-y but I checked out their back catalogue found out about I Killed The Prom Queen that way as the IKTPQ guitarist was in BMTH for a bit and it snowballed from there.

I'm actually seeing I Killed The Prom Queen in August and going Leeds festival a few days later.

That's what's up. I got into Metalcore through All That Remains, KSE and I would even say Trivium as well. I haven't heard too much from I Killed The Promise Queen personally but will do so since you mentioned them often.

My style of metal varies as well. I am not too much of a fan of 80s metal besides Metallica.

I really am enjoying Incarnate by KSE. Heavy, fun album that has a lot of technical melodic stuff going on it.

I listen to most things really and like at least one artist in pretty much every genre.

I Killed The Prom Queen are funny as they've released three albums with three different (scream) vocalists. They're like Drowning Pool in that regard. Although they did break up for a bit to be fair.

The first guy is good. Second one so so and the third fits well.

Who you like the most?

What about Jones vs Leech from KSE?

I prefer Jamie Hope (the third guy) he seems to have a good mix of the two other styles.

It's weird in regards to KSE. I think Howard Jones is the better vocalist, but I prefer Jesse Leach's lyrics etc.

I agree with you man. Jesse rights better lyrics but brings the band back to experimenting with them.

Do you like Hatebreed? Concert Confessional is a badass album.

Honestly I've only heard 'I Will Be Heard' (lol) I know the singer is a guest vocalist on the new Bury Tomorrow album (it's really good). But I'll check that album out.

I've been listening to Head's solo record as well. I just finished his first book and decided to check it out. It's pretty good to be fair.

There's his solo solo record and then there's his Love And Death record. They're both pretty good but Love And Death is a bit more polished in terms of production. Plus he's got an actual band behind him there.

New Nonpoint and Skillet. Both are very good.

Checked Skillet out they're actually pretty good. The drummer was born where I live (not much to write home about but still)

I've been listening to The Amity Affliction and Tonight Alive. Pretty good.

I'm starting to believe Australia has some of the best bands going right now. Amity Affliction, Tonight Alive, Parkway Drive and I Killed The Prom Queen.

Tom Searle from Architects died from cancer at 28 and Matt Roberts from 3 Doors Down has died as well. Jeez that sucks
