Great read as usual, Justin. Have you ever read the Identity Crisis arc? That would be a good one for future threads.

Hey, Stormtrooper. I'm just working hard to finish my final paper before the end of the quarter, but really everything's just great now. I can see the quarter's end, and I just need to tell myself that I really made it this far, with speeches and papers and tests, and I prevailed.

Dangermouse is an excellent show with a glut of great characters - the eponymous hero, his dimwitted cowardly sidekick Ernest Penfold, the villainous "Baroni" Silas Greenback, his pet Nero, Stiletto and the bumbling Colonel K

I even have a painted Penfold statue in my garden...

"Oh Crumbs!!"

It also had a tremendous opening sequence

Another great David Jason inspired cartoon creation was Count Duckula

The dynamic between the Count and Igor was fantastic with the latter's frequent disappointment while Nanny provided more comic relief

I've only seen a few episodes of Count Duckula, mostly when they randomly play on TV and the one on one of the DangerMouse DVDs. I enjoyed the character, though, and the episodes I did see were good.

I don't think I have, if it's taken place between '96 & about a month ago, chances are I haven't read it, which is gonna make doing some alot of these spotlights a little.... eh... lets say different, '96 was when I was starting HS so I had to chose what to spend my money on, "trying to get the girl" or a comic books, I have gone back a read some of the Batman stuff that took place in my time away, and of course Civil War, however in HS was when I started watching Buffy, and wrestling on a weekly basis (I suppose now that I think about it that could have just been a way for me to subconsciously fill the void left by the absence of comics in my life)

Anyway I'll prolly do the Identity Crisis at some point, in fact I'm sure I'll be doing all 9000 "Crisis" arcs DC did:lmao:

Haha, how many are there? Identity Crisis, Countdown To Infinite Crisis, Crisis On Infinite Earths, DAYCARES IN CRISIS!!!

:lmao: That's one thing I've always noticed with DC, when they take the ball and run with something THEY TAKE THE FUCKIN' BALL AND RUN WITH IT, AND KEEP RUNNING WITH IT UNTIL THE BALL HAS RUN OUT OF AIR AND HAS JUST DEFLATED INTO A PILE OF USELESS RUBBER!!!, LOL

They did it in '93 when they first killed Superman, they realized that got them a lot of attention so a few months later they go a cripple Batman, it continued to work so then they go a destroy the GL corps, thankfully the majority of those arcs are very well written, then they did their first Crisis storyline and it must've went over pretty fucking well, because between '85 & '08 they've done literally 6 arcs with Crisis in the title

Doc, I've been meaning to ask you, have you ever seen "Black Dynamite"? it's on netflix instant & I just added it to my queue after hearing someone say it was funnier than shit, just curious if they were right and if it's really worth 83 mins. of my life

Black Dynamite was one of my main inspirations behind Action Saxton. Watch it immediately. Hilarious.

I prolly will tonight after a catch the end of the train wreck that is Total Nonstop Atrocious Wrestling

Why can't AJ Styles just jump ship to WWE, then he could be apart of a wrestling companies that knows what the fuck they're doing (at least most of the time)

1. Life's A-OK. My computer died so I'm in a computer lab working on a paper. Once I get this position part done I'll probably leave and get something to eat, coming back later.

2. YES, I LOVE YOTSUBA&!. It's so happy and cute. :D

YES! Which one? I remember one that I think was called Pokemon Adventures? It was so awesome, I loved it.

Also, I reread the Secret War graphic novel today, and loved it. It isn't just the art, it's very interesting and intelligent. Not a ton of superhero action, but it raises some interesting moral questions. Justin, you should read it and spotlight it. I'd love to discuss that.

FunKay, I meant to say "moral" in your rep, not "morla". Sorry, temp computer that I'm not used to typing on. Great thread.

Pokemon Adventures was such a great series. I wish mum hadn't thrown our collection of them away. They used to be presented like comic books, right? I remember there was one arc involving Lavender Tower that I loved, because of how mature it was when compared to both the source and the other comics in the series.

It's released under the Viz Kids brand despite the incredible brutality of it. There are Pokémon that get whipped, beaten, scolded, electrocuted amongst other things (Giovanni's Cloyster breaks a Magmar in half at one point) and the humans don't have a great time at points either.
