I loved the Battle Arena tournament, but it was confusing as fuck. I want to do it again this year, though.

Sadly, it'll never happen. I read the old Board Room posts from around the time it was going on, and seeing as most of the staff are MANLY MEN who are SUPER SERIOUS and don't have time for CHILDISH BULLSHIT, they basically were shitting on the whole thing and the people having fun with it the whole time.

I'm sure it could be a fun mini-tournament to do some time, though. I could attempt to set up a small one if you guys help me organize it. We could streamline it, too, make it less confusing.

The arguments for Onslaught were just bullshit, they made him out to be some omniscient, omnipresent, all-powerful, impossible-to-defeat being. I still say Mega Man.EXE won the whole thing, though.

That's pretty much Marvel's official stance on Onslaught though.

Then he really shouldn't have been in the tournament. He was way too overpowered for class 2 and people made him sound like he'd be too much even for class 3.

The tournament needed some tweaks. Like I say, as a mini-tournament it really could have been fun. We should brainstorm some ideas in here and maybe I'll try and bring it up with the staff and run it again. After this major wrestling tournament, though, obviously.

I'm thinking maybe only two classes, with God-likes in one, and lesser beings in the other. Pare each category down to the best of the best (eight in each?) and have two winners, one in each class. Maybe start a thread for people to suggest superheroes and characters, and they can be from any form of fictional media, just to make it more fun. Ninja Turtles FTW!

Hao from Shaman King would fit into the God tier, seeing as by the end of the story his spirit partner WAS God.

Yeah, in the lesser category. Someone like Mega Man.EXE could take out Light if he wasn't quick enough on the draw...or the write as the case may be. Light has to find out his opponent's name via research or Misa and write it in the Death Note, leaving him totally vulnerable the whole time. He could win, he could lose. Being in the Lesser category would be fair.

God-likes would be ones like Superman, Alucard, Hao, etc. The ones that are way too powerful for humans and human-likes.

So pretty much anyone not named Hercule from DBZ would qualify for the God category.

Well, we'd have to limit characters to the best of the best for each category, except for a few fun ones (Comic-book-style Hulk Hogan, Leonardo of the TMNT, Hercule, etc.). Every character has to be defeatable, and since this would be a mini-tournament, only one representative from each series would be in, and only probably the most well-known series' or most interesting combatants.

Shaman King character (Remix, you can pick this one)
A Saiyan (God-Like)
Hercule (Human-Like)
Light Yagami (Human-Like)
A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Human-Like; We'll have a poll to decide on the one to include)
Ridiculous Comic Book Style Hulk Hogan (You know, the super roided, jumping twenty-feet in the air, AMERICA POWERED Hogan)

Others to be decided by posts and votes. Definitely some American comic book characters. One of the biggest complaints of last year's tournament was the lack of recognizable names. I want to fix that by paring down the combatants and putting in well-known and fun characters.

I'm almost positive it was SSJ2 Adult Gohan, because the argument is he'd beat them easily if he wasn't nerfed (Which is true, as it's pretty solid belief that Mystic Gohan > J3 Goku)

SSJ 2 Adult Gohan still ranks as stronger than Goku in the film. Broly gets a lot of people behind him, but I've never really got the character.
