My shop had all comics (except the rare wall books) & tpbs so & I loaded up & got..

For my freebies I picked up the Iron Man Heroclix figure, & the Superman, & Walking Dead books

What did everyone else get?

My store is tiny and was packed, so I didn't do any extra shopping. I'll probably swing by there one day this week. My money situation is less shitty right now, so I might commit to one or two books.

Anyway, I got Fubar, The Walking Dead, Bloodshot and since my shop is a chain of 9 stores in northern Illinois, they had a special edition #1 of Superman: Last Son of Krypton that everyone got.

Got to the store at 4 pm. No freebies available for me however. The clerk said he had wall to wall customers at 10 am and they were all out of free comics. I did pick up a 5 pack of issue #1's for 5 Variant comics for $5 and a tpb for a comic called Saga through Image comics for $10. Figured I'd support thr indy labels todat.

Skylar though got 4 free comics, Sesame Street, Archie, and a couple others I hadn't heard of. I also bought her a Tinkerbell 4 comic book pack for $8. They also gave her a balloon. So all in all a good trip.

Justin, I know you dropped UA, but that shit is starting to get real good. I know you loved UXF, and this arc is a direct sequel to Dark Angel Saga. Looks like Logan's X-Force secret is about to get let out, looks like Wanda is about to pay for the Decimation, Remender has easily got my interest again.

Also just bought the AvX Hardcover and the AvX Companion Omnibus. I'm ready to read all 76 AvX issues and judge that thing properly. This is why I love the collected format so much.

In real news, I just started reading Civil War... Jesus I had no Idea how good it would be. I even enjoyed a She-Hulk comic. Not much of a marvel man, but when I can get an entire story collected and it's done this well I'm cool. Till it's retconned.

I think acquiring Cage and the others they got last week was something they've been planning for a bit since the Avengers. It's not like the studio that owned him was planning on doing anything with him anyway.

Marvel could really go to town with those Street Level heroes. Getting Daredevil back could potentially see him on TV. With the Punisher movies being flops, chances are the small screen could work with him as well. If this show does well it has limitless potential.

Yeah Civil War is good. Granted there's alot of problems with it, and the characterization is switched but entertaining story. Try Kingdom Come also.

Kingdowm come is one of the finest things I've read. I'd aloways been a DC man. Some things like Identity Crisis, too, are bloody brilliant for a self-contained story. Just on a marvel kick at the minute. World War hulk is next on the list I think.

Superman is a great character when written right. It's been proven time and time again. Bruce Timm for example.

Just found two new 52 hardcovers for a tenner each, first eight issues of Batman and Robin and Batman: The Dark Knight. Decent deal I figure? Gotta love sale buckets. I've heard good of B+R, so i'm looking forward to that!

For anyone interested in the industry, what seems to have happened is that the distrubutor for DC in the UK seems to have shut its doors so a lot of stores have to go direct to American companies (likely Diamond) but since these are American traders they have a no-return policy. I thought to myself, "you put them in the sales bucket again and I'll be back", but the guy at the counter said that it's just likely they will buy less DC as the risk is now much higher... Well fuck. But I wouldnt be surprised if the Marvel guy in the UK didnt just broaden his horizons and make a killing... Guess we'll find out!

Been on a huge DC break lately, but Batman/Superman has been fun in the past (particularly when they snuck deadpool into an annual) so i'mma check that out. They have a pretty good dynamic too.

While I'm here i would like to add that the current Hawkeye comic is a thing of beauty. I'm only two issues in and I love it. Whole-heartedly.

Well KC and Year One I've read so that's a step forward already. Probably check out Crisis on Infinite Earths and the other Crises when I get paid on Friday.

I was leafing through a copy at my LCS and thought it looked pretty darn good, though I'll likely wait for the TPB to come out first.
