They’re BACK!

This summer, the original heroes in a half-shell make a triumphant return to comics! Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael reunite to bring their ninja aptitude and teenage attitude to IDW Publishing in this all-new, action-packed series.

Featuring a cast of familiar characters—Master Splinter, April O’Neill, Casey Jones, and more—and true to the spirit of the original comics created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES are bigger and badder than ever, and ready to rock old and new fans alike!

Can not fucking wait for Weds. now. TMNT #1, Uncanny X-Force #13, The Punisher #2, & Flashpoint: Project Superman #3, are all on my "shopping list" this week.

Is that following the original comic continuity or one of the TV shows Justin?

According to reports released last April, it sounds like new adventures based on the original comics.

SHELLSHOCKER: IDW Delivers New and Old TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Comics this Summer

It was only right that I had a mouth full of pizza as I opened my email.

Today, IDW announced a new partnership with Nickelodeon–current keepers of the ooze–to publish all new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adventures based on the original comic series by Eastman and Laird. It's all part of Nickelodeon's initiative to bring the franchise back to its former glory, all culminating in a new CG animated series in 2012.

IDW did not list specific creative teams for the new ongoing series and graphic novels, but we can expect the books to launch this summer.

And even if you're disinterested in the new direction for Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Master Splinter, you may be interested in some reprints of classic material. Oh, yes.

"IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will kick off with an ongoing series this summer, featuring new and exciting storylines that also maintain the “turtle power” core beloved by millions of fans. In addition to the all-new series, TMNT fans will also be treated to newly remastered collections of classic Turtles comics, beginning with the original 1980s series that started this worldwide phenomenon."

Bring on those TMNT archives and omnibus editions!

So, I'm a mere 8 issues from my collection of Amazing Spider-Man (2008-Present) from being complete. I'm rather excited truth be told, but I have to ask, is it worth picking up the new Venom series? Has anyone read it, and if so, what did you think.

The new Venom series is the only Spidey related book I read, have read every issue of it so far, and enjoyed every issue with the exception of the one with Venom in the Savage Land fighting Kraven (issue #2 I beleive). That issue seemed a bit out of place, plus I just can't stand Kraven. Rick Remender does a fantastic job with balancing out the demons in which Flash has to deal with in his every day life as well as being Venom and not letting anyone new. The new restrictions thaat are given to him by the government when he goes out with the symbiote are a nice little touch too, and just add a little something extra to each of his missions that makes just that much more compelling and suspenseful. I would definitely check out.

The new TMNT series is going to be awesome!! I love the way they're coming into this series, which is a bit like the original Turtle series that started it all. A lot of mark out moments in this book, & some good humor as well, one of my personal favorite moments was Raph digging through the trash and pulls out a shirt that just says "Cowabunga" he looks at it and says "Oh, that's just wrong" then throws it back into the trash. There is so much about this I would like to talk about but really don't want to post any spoilers. I will say this though, if you're a TMNT fan, pick this up, it's fucking good, & will have you hooked to the end, this has all the makings of a very good series & one of those books that I will be looking forward to evdery month, I can not wait for issue #2 to come out!!

While I have no clue as to what's going on, I hear that some of you crazy kids get a kick out of this so have at it.

...:eek2:....I think is just came all over my laptop. It appears they'd followed the comics closely just judging by that trailer. I still think Locke & Key would work better as a film franchise, but I wouldn't refuse watching a show either, that looks FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!

This is gonna be another good week for comics, looks like I'll probably be picking up Gambit: From The Marvel Vault #1, Incredible Hulks #635, Ultimate Comics Hawkeye #1, & Uncanny X-Force #14 from Marvel, Flashpoint #5, & Justice League #1 from DC, & if it comes out this week Locke & Key: Clockworks #2

No X-Men... looks like I'll be taking a week off. My wallet will thank me, though I'd be lying if I said the Gambit and X-Force books weren't tempting.

Nothing new for X-men, a few trades coming out though. X-men: Prelude to Schism (hardcover), & X-men: Phoenix Rising (tpb) both come out this week as well, The first 6 issues of Uncanny X-force are being sold as a tpb as well.

I already own all the Prelude to Schisms, so no need to get those. The Uncanny X-Force tpb is tempting, though.

It's not the first 6 issues of Uncanny X-force after all

The Story: The X-Men do not kill. But when Apocalypse — the mutant despot who has countless times brought humanity to the brink of destruction — returns, Wolverine knows there's only one solution: the recently reconstituted X-Force! The new team — consisting of Deadpool, Archangel, Psylocke and Fantomex — must destroy En Sabah Nur. But can Wolverine's secret team survive Apocalypse's deadly Final Horsemen? And even if they do, can they kill the reborn Apocalypse when the greatest threat the world has ever faced is now no more than an innocent child? Collecting UNCANNY X-FORCE #1-4, and material from WOLVERINE: ROAD TO HELL and ALL-NEW WOLVERINE SAGA.

Interesting, I have all the X-Force stuff, but have never read the Wolverine :Road to Hell, or All-New Wolverine Saga stuff yet

Where can we go to find out what books are coming out each week? iFanboy?

iFanboy is a great site to use, as they'll tell you everything that is coming out from every publisher, though they usually don't post it up til sometime Mon. afternoon. For Marvel & DC I typically do what FunKay just said, go to their sites and under Comics they have schedules for everything being released.

Just realized yesterday would have been Jack Kirby's 94th Birthday. He died at the age of 76 in 1994. A true legend of the trade.
