A Fan Of Wrestling Not Backstage BS
Well Im glad you had a laugh. every one is entitled to their opinion and you are entitled to yours.
Lets just get this straight,
I have never said that im a expert on the insides of WCW, TNA or WWE. I am just a wrestling fan of over 25+ years and will continue to be so. The thing is, this is a forum for wrestling fans to air their views and for others to either agree with or not. Do I have to know the complete inner workings of the federations to have to enjoy watching wrestling and qualify to air my views? Does that also mean that everyone who shares the same opinion that I do is Wrong too? Can we not just be fans and still be able to air our views on what we see and read about?
Hogan was a wrestling icon in the 80s and the 90s and he eclipsed most other superstars in any federation without a doubt. Hogan does have a lot to bring to the table however, he would never have had his star power without the WWF/WWE. Im going now because Im about to watch Smackdown and get all my imformation wrong because i dont know the names of everybody who is backstage and what they have had for dinner.
Bottom line is this, like I said before, I have no problems with people who have opinions, but yeah I am going to shoot your points to smithereens when it comes to the things you have been saying, and why is that?
Simply put, you're not being constructive, so you think Hulk Hogan killed WCW, that's a little vague, give me the reasons you THINK that happened. You didn't elaborate on any of that, instead you just used a tired old bit of speculation that many other internet smarks have jumped on. So therefore your opinion holds no water, unless you got something to back it up with. Back up your opinions, because without having any merit or point behind what you're saying, your opinion in my view just sounds like everyone else's spiteful diatribes on this forum, because by and large that's what the majority of people are like on this thread.
I'm not saying you have to agree with me on anything I am saying, but give me some really strong counterpoints, I mean I gave you my reasoning for disagreeing with your point of view on Hulk Hogan killing WCW, I am not going to say for certain that he's totally innocent either, I myself was never there either to know for sure. So my opinion on why WCW is no more is that times had changed for the company and it's a good bet that AOL's merger with Time Warner didn't help matters. But I can also say in the same breath that yeah your big stars like your Hulk Hogans may not have helped the matter either, in regards to what this conglomerate was going to do with what many people would consider the "bastard child" of AOL Time Warner's corporate family.
For the record, I never said you were wrong necessarily as far as how you feel, but in expressing your point intelligently, you're damn right I think you're wrong. In my view, any post that lacks critical thinking and consideration of facts in backing up their opinion is someone that totally lacks credibility in my point of view.
So like I said man, give me a counterpoint and give me legit reasons for why you think things went south for WCW. Don't borrow everyone else's same answer unless you have something to add to why you feel that way.
Oh and as far as Hulk Hogan's star power goes, yeah I definitely think WWF/E helped take things to the next level for him, but considering how he was already gaining notoriety with Rocky III and had a major push in the AWA, I don't think that hurt anything either, and considering the fact that he can still hold a name for himself outside of World Wrestling Entertainment, says a lot about the guy, love him or hate him.
