The film bit doesn't start until Spetember or October. However I've been unfortunate enough to be exposed to several student films so far. The wrestling one is very good, that kid has potential. However the rest are not very good. My tip is to aim lower so you hit higher.

Honest opinions are frowned upon in my experience. One reply I got was something along the lines of ''I look forward to seeing if you can do better''. ''I'm doing films studies'' came by laconic reply.

Just not the type of thing I'd ever be interested in watching. I'm guessing it's got a supernatural element, which isn't really for me.

That said, if the box set is cheap enough I'll buy it.

It's more about 2 brothers, one has demonic powers and the other one holds a gun that can kill demons. They're hunting down demons and all such things. I'm only at like 4th season, that's where I picked up watching, so I have very little background.

I want it because Empire gave it a good four stars. I'm thinking that if Adam Sandler can make a good movie, Jim Carey's due one too.

Edit: Though that Ewan McGregor should be more discerning with his roles.

I thought it was good in the cinema, not so much when I later got it on DVD. I'm surprised Schwimmer doesn't do more sophisticated stuff. Actually, no, I'm not.

I think his career peaked with Friends; in fact, no one on that show has gone on to do anything noteworthy at all.

I could understand, if she was of Angelina Jolie's caliber, but most of her movies really aren't that good in my opinion. Her last good one was, what, Office Space?

Actors that star in movies geared towards children automatically know that the movie probably isn't going to be huge, and will most likely be replaced when the next "flavor of the month" is released.

That way even bad actors get to do something.

Jennifer Anniston could win an Oscar. A lot of the shit she does is only a little bit of The Blind Side type ribbish. A rewrite of somebody half decent and she could win an Oscar for a very average film too.

She was really good in The Good Girl. Don't remember it? I'm pretty sure it has some Aniston nipple. Check it out.

That wasn't the one with Clive Owen with the rape scene, was it? Because it was a pretty mediocre thriller, but after the rape scene it must have been ringing Oscar bells.

This months Empire has me actually interested in going to see Scott Pilgrim vs the World in the cinema, which is no mean feat.

However, the links to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are somewhat of a turn off as I thought both of those Wright films were incredibly overrated. Rarely funny and went nowhere

I think the Clive Owen one was called Derailed. She was unveiled as the bad guy at the end wasn't she?

Essentially, yes. Jake Glylenhaal, huh? Until recently, he wouldn't wander too far away from the Oscar film area. He did Prince of Persia because of its fantastic script, obviously.
