Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Good to know that. Dumb as fuck. I don't think anything that has people bonding by sharing hair follicles deserves as much praise as that film.

I hated the love story part because it was shit, just like all the romance aspects from James Cameron films. Too much cheese. And I hated the action because it was a horrible mass of CGI rubbishness and was nowhere near as entertaining as Jim Camerons setpieces usually are.

Oh, and for everyones information. There have been techniques of underground mining developed that doesnt disturb topsoil since about 1982, so uh, the whole conflict would absolutely never happen. A sticking point for me.

Well yea, I mean. Love story was shit, but passable, nothing offensively bad about it. The last hour? Aggravatingly bad. I almost walked out when I saw the native paint on that fucking helicopter. I threw my hoody over my face when I saw that.

I also enjoyed the people in the audience clapping when American soldiers were gettting crushed to death by glowing rhinoceros thingies. Yea, thanks for that James Cameron, you fucking pussy ass bitch.

I liked how he created a whole new species, but still got his racial stereotypes in.

They really underutilized all the creatures that'd been created, apart from that first flying one. He was in it a fair bit, only to be ignored when he upgraded towards the end.

The best part of the film was when the princess took her hair out of those braids, and had it straightened, before they had sexy times in the glowy trees.

Her hair was the most interesting thing in that film. Looked very pretty. Like, I wouldve appreciated that.

I also enjoyed how they JUST SO HAPPENED to have a procedure to convert a person into a blue person, of all things. Even though humans had only shown up to the place like, 20 years ago. Convenient, that.

Technology is moving on so fast, I'm struggling to keep up. I've been doing photography for years, but apparently film isn't the way to go anymore.

Hardly.
It was good, and I greatly enjoyed the story and was totally emotionally invested in it, but it certainly doesn't deserve as much hype as it gets. And I wish people would stop raving about the graphics because that makes it seems like it has no other redeeming features.

Greatly enjoyable film. But not THE DEFINING ONE ZOMG

I won't see it in theaters, but I'll check it out once it's on HBO or something like that.

You have to eventually watch it though, man. The highest grossing movie of all time, plus all the accolades and rewards? This is the definition of a must see movie, so you can form your own opinion about whether or not it's as great as people say, or if it's an overrated piece of shit. Either way, you have to check it out, but at the same time... you should to go into it with an open-mind, rather than already having your mind made up that it's going to suck.

I mean, it was OK. The characters were deep and insightful and they made you invest in them. The story was a combination of Fern Gully, Pocohontas, and Casino. The graphics were amazing. Ther world they created was detailed with an entire culture, religion, history, and language. It was well acted and visually stunning.

There were no flaws except that it was liberal propaganda, but, on this forum, I believe that's a good thing.

it was pretty fucking rad and anyone who didn't like it is a cunt in my book.

It is actually a very good movie. The only thing that annoyed me about it was the fact that I knew what was going to happen towards the end as it seemed a little clichéd. Apart from that, it is really spectacular. All this coming from someone "who would not watch it out of principle". I think that even though you think it will be bad for some reason, it is definitely worth a watch and you will most likely find something to get you invested in it.

What's wrong, Jakey? I took a middle route that included women and physics. I couldn't afford to fail that test.

Drinking tomorrow and the next day, at least.
