☆ Love & Friendship

Love & Friendship was very witty, Swiss Army man has farting. Guess which one is one my films of the year.

Swiss Army Man is basically just one long fart joke, which in execution is very good and conceptually is amazing.

I don't know how someone from Stoke-On-Trent has seen that film before me. This is really starting to become galling.

Apparently it's out and Daniel Radcliffe went on the Graham Norton show to promote a film released in twenty cinemas nationwide.

Of the three I've met:

One black, one white, one Brazilian; none of them Bray Wyatt. Oh, Raul, you cad!

I'm genuinely struggling to describe how I felt about Swiss Army Man. My main thought is: fucking hell, those critics who walked out need to get over themselves.

The main drug dealer in know, who i found to be a nice young man after we'd settled our differences over him trying to extort money off my tennents, is currently in jail for cutting some guys toes off with a circular handsaw.

The Greasy Strangler might be a ☆☆ or a ☆☆☆☆. I got a free DVD when I saw it so I'll get back to you in 10 years when I rewatch it.

I'll never look at the man who gets in the back of my brother's car to sell him weed the same way again. Although the bloke who sells him ket probably isn't up to much good either.

What was the issue with X-Men Apocolypse ?

It wasn't the Revenant or anything, but I found it to be perfectly acceptable.

Methinks people have begun to expect a bit much from summer popcorn movies. Sure it was thin and busy, still decent fun.

☆☆☆☆ He'll Or High Water, Storks and The Greasy Strangler
☆☆☆ Miss Peregrines Home For Perculiar Children, The Girl With All The Gifts and Girl On A Train
☆☆ Inferno, My Scientology Movie and Jack Reacher: Never Stop Reaching

Can't remember Jack Reacher's subtitle but mine is infinitely better.

I need somebody to discuss The Greasy Strangler with. It's boring, X-Men: Apocalypse boring, but also the funniest film I've seen all year.

I've a mountain of predictably nerdy complaints about X-Men Apocalypse but, indeed, all would be forgiven it wasn't as boring as a Baron Corbin match.

Would have been a resounding two if it weren't for the bits of psychedelia that are genuinely impressive.

How good would American Honey be if it wasn't over two and a half hours long!

Methinks people have begun to expect a bit much from summer popcorn movies. Sure it was thin and busy, still decent fun.

The center Quicksilver action piece where he rescues everyone in the exploding school was the only good part of the movie. If the rest of the movie focussed solely on Quicksilver it probably would've saved it. For me, it just felt underwhelming and generic. By the time the third act started I had lost all interest in how Apocalypse was going to die.

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. A pretty decent kids movie. We watched it in the theatres with the motion seats and had a good time. One pretty annoying complaint though is the choice of casting for the main character. Just a horrible actor IMO, about as bland and wooden as you can get.

I can see it being underwhelming especially for those of us who have hoped for and waited for a decade for Apocolypse to hit one of these movies

But people around here acted like they needed to get vaccinated after watching it.
