I agree with the sentiment of the Rolling Stone quote. I imagine if there is a third season, HBO gets a little more hands-on than they normally would with their showrunners.
Still, with more lead characters and him bending over backwards to ensure there were "strong female parts," I maintain that he stepped well outside his comfort zone.
Having a partner would do a lot of ensure he doesn't crawl up his ass worrying about what people are saying about him.
Worst case scenario: One-trick pony. But it was a pretty great trick.
I agree with Fury Road being not much more than a good, fun action flick. But when something is executed that well, I tend to set pretentiousness aside.
Creed was rockin'. I dug Rocky Balboa, but this was easily the best since the original. And they set up a couple potential matches for future Creed films. Of course I'd like to see a more heavyweight name brought in for a main event level fight.
And I loved Birdman too. Went out of my way to see it before it got its wide release. If I made a longer list, it'd have probably been next.
That or Winter Soldier.
