The only thing Raven was ever good at was promo work and hardcore brawls. With this being a "normal" match, where speed strength and athleticism come into play, I have to give it Ron Simmons. I have yet to be impressed with anything from Raven that didn't include weapons of some sort, while I've seen several solid matches from Simmons. Good? Maybe not. But solid.

As for him being black, I know I don't remember him because he was black. I remember him because he was entertaining.

Winner: Ron Simmons

Anyone who votes for Shelton Benjamin hates wrestling. I don't say that often, but if one votes for Benjamin ahead of Anderson then they hate wrestling.

Anderson was absolutely superb in the ring, a master of psychology who always understood where he was in the ring and where he needed to be. He was a believable tough guy who knew how to sell realism in his offense, and how to make the crowd hate him.

I like Shelton Benjamin as much as anyone, but he doesn't stand a chance here against one of the all-time greats. Arn Anderson in a walk.

He wasn't entertaining at all though, his matches are soo boring. If anything he was more suited to been a tag team wrestler than a single wrestler. Face it he was only made champ for the first black world champion tag to sell to fans.

Raven is overated, but he's a solid wrestler, and a more deserving champion than Simmons. Raven has put on some great matches in his time, and delievered great enterainment through his experimentation, and solid if not spectacular ring work, I think he is one of the best sellers ever, yes ever. Not technically gifted but more so than simmons, and even if he wasn't I would vote for Raven.

Raven was a strong ECW Champion. A fair wrestler in a world of Hardcore. I've enjoyed his work, even in WCW. He was a decent US Champion and he's always been a fun character to watch. Scott Levy, as an entertainer, I love.

Simmons was a strong WCW wrestler for a long time. Doom was a dominant team and Simmons was a regular threat to singles titles in the early 90's. I realize he beat Vader and held the title because WCW got hit by the injury bug, but he wasn't a bad champion. He also held the title for over half a year. Simmons was the fourth name in an early 1990's Championship roster that included Flair, Vader, and Sting. That's damn good company. I just don't hold Dreamer, Sandman, or Douglas in the same regard as the former 3.

I have Simmons winning in a tough match.

Seriously? Why the fuck is Simmons winning? Everybody name your favourite Simmons match... that's what I thought.

Christ! He's not even the first black world champ. Bobo Brazil won the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Buddy Rogers in 1962 and held it for 2 months, it's just not recognized.

And Raven's only good in hardcore situations? He beat Brian Pillman for the WCW Light Heavyweight title in an outstanding match. He's one of the greatest ring psychologists ever. And amongst all of his hardcore stuff his matches always include some quality pure wrestling.

An Evenflow DDT is effective in any situation and Raven would easily lay Simmons out with one.

yea, this seems kinda crazy to me really. Simmons never did really anything great, besides be the first black champion, which I think is made a little bigger deal of than it should. but thats a whooooole other subject.

Raven, on the other hand, can work any kind of match, has amazing promo and ring phsycology. Raven FTW, for sure.

Raven should win this one fairly decently after a hard fought match up but the DDT can come from anywhere and at Anytime. Raven is too Smart to get caught by the Spinebuster in this case. Simmons is an Incredible Athlete but He was given the World title andcalled the first Black Champion because there were rumours that there was going to be an Investigation into Racism in WCW. He didn't get it because he would sell the most merch, nor was he the Best Wrestler. But Because he was Black. Raven however works the crowd brilliantly. And I see the Second most Devastating DDT in Wrestling History winning this Match.

Ive said it before, il say it again. Dragon fuckin owned. Jesse was mildly funny as a commentator, and was a billy graham rip off, and he wasnt even the only one who did THAT. And the other guy who walked around petterning himself after billy graham, was MUCH more successfull at it. Dragon wins.

Pretty simple really. One of the greatest of all time, against a guy who was fantastic at generating heat, but had intensely BORING matches. Even the match with hogan is enough to bore you to tears until the last 55 seconds This is an obvious, simple choice for me.

Seriously? Why the fuck is Simmons winning? Everybody name your favourite Simmons match... that's what I thought.
Ron Simmons vs. Lex Luger, 2 out of 3 falls at Halloween Havoc 1991.

Everything you just said against Simmons, with regards to holding the belt, is STILL more than what Raven ever did, outside of ECW rules environment.

The outcome of this match is predictable, and justifiablly so. However, i don't think a match between these two would be as lopsided as the results would indicate. Is Sean Waltman annoying, yes. Did Sean Waltman not give 100%, probably. Did Sean Waltman piss his career away, you bet. But Waltman was talented, and damn talented. He wasted it away by being a complete dip shit. Michaels should win but it would be a little closer then the percentage would indicate.

I like Ventura, I honestly do, but as a commentator and an actor. Granted I wasn't alive tos ee the bulk of Ventura's work in context with the time, and I understand that, but Dragon has impressed me from day one with him. I'm a huge Dragon mark, and I really think that the smaler guy has enough talent in this case to take down a much bigger wrestler. I don't think it would be easy, but it is certainly possible.

Simmons was good, Raven was better. I think that the broad generalization that ECW guys can't wrestle is a bit over empahsized in this match. Scott Levy has been able to wrestle any style that he was asked to wrestle for any company he worked for. Here is a guy that was done and dead in the water after the E fucked up Scotty Flamingo and made him Johnny Polo. Levy's career was officially over. Instead of staying with the E, he completely reinvented himself as one of the best gimmicks of the 90's along with being one of the best ring psychologist. Did he pay his dues physically, you bet, but it worked. Raven has managed to get over in ECW, WCW, WWE and TNA, that's pretty damn impressive. He can work a damn good match with or without gimmicks. I tend to agree, one evenflow DDT and this match is over.

This one is pretty much a no brainer. Burke probably shouldn't even be in the tournament, let alone the second round. Bam Bam is a freakign beast and Burke has never been in the ring with anyone remotely as dangerous as Bigelow. Bigelow wins this one in a literal squash.

Yeah, this one is pretty easy. The Sheik is entertaining, but probably for all of the wrong reasons. He's crazy as hell. He's was a pretty good mat wrestler, but he's outmatched by Guerrero here. Sheik could win on the mat, but everything else Guerrero is at least 100x's better. Guerrero wins in relative easily fashion.

Wow, I'm really surprised that this match ahsn't gotten more discussion then what it has. This is a damn good match on paper between two smaller guys with semi-similar styles. I think Senshi can hang with Helms, but over all if Helms is pushed correctly and given the time, he would bury Senshi in a wrestling match. Senshi is good, Helms is better.

No way in hell that Hernandez last more then five minutes. Hernandez is strong as hell, and impressive in TNA, but he can't lace Hogan's boot with any rules or stipulations. Again, I think the blind Hogan hatred is showing it's ugly head in this thing, and it's a damn shame.

I'm as big of a Shelton Benjamin fan and a very vocal push Benjamin person, but come on, he's going up against the freaking Enforcer. The back bone of the Horseman, the only guy outside of Flair to have a decent run in the singles ranks. Arn Anderson is smarter and stronger then Benjamin. All of that high flying is impressive, but Anderson only needs to catch Benjamin once, and it's a spinebuster and a 3 count.

There is something I would like to say here but it doesn't seem right as Sean Waltman has got talent, just not used. Shawn Michaels wins this one in a nice little match where Waltman gets one move of offence in a punch to start the match off the rest is all HBK where the move he used against Murdoch in a Royal Rumble qualifying match. An inverted Figure four or something.

I don't know who to vote for here. But I will go with the Only Man to hold 10 titles at one time Just on the basis of how difficult that would be to gain 10 titles and hold them whether it is physically possible is another question altogether. But I can see Ultimo Dragon being fast enough to keep up a hit and Run attack on Jesse Ventura, thereby wearing out the bigger wrestler and therefore winning.

The Black Pope should not be in the second round, he has a great upside but he should not be in the second round. Delirious would have a chance due to the confusion factor and then also combine in the fact that he is now using Asian Mist. But since He isn't Bigelow destroys Burke without even needing to hit the top rope for the Bigelowsault.

Bigelow would win this match even if it was contested under Bigelow Can't Do Any Wrestling Moves At All rules. Burke has potential. But in my opinion he didn't even have enough potential to defeat Delirious.

Eddie avoids being made HUMBLE by the Iron Sheik who is probably high on Cocaine in this match as well. Eddie G is good enough to beat him. This is taking nothing away from Iron Sheik as he is a good wrestler. Good enough that he is a former WWF champion. So it isn't like this would be a squash as the numbers will suggest but a close match.

Vader is not involved in this match sir^^^

I completely had a brain fart on this one. I did vote for BAM Bam though. Bam Bam is just as athletic as Elijah and is the much better wrestler. Thanks for pointing out my error. I also now understand why I got the warning message because I was off subject.

This is an awesome matchup. But despite Low Ki being a good Stiff worker. I would go with Helms with it being in a WCW ring. He was putting on some great matches before the Neck Fusion surgery, I hope he gets back and is just as good. But He has the ring advantage as I have said. Low Ki is good but Helms is growing as a potential Upper Mid Card guy, with a possible shot at main eventing if the big guys are stopped being pandered to by Vince. He is the most talented out of the North Carolina foursome that are all contracted to the WWE. Low Ki is Good, Helms could be great.
