RIP Kanyon

Nothing is wrong with mourning them, but there's a lot wrong with saying how it's tragic when they did it to themselves. Also I'm guessing he'll be remembered as great now. Hell if you listen to ECW, Louie Spicolli was the second coming of Lou Thesz.

Well, to each his own, but I prefer to save my condolences on people who don't deserve the fate they've been dealt, like children in poverty, not people who were making 6 figures a year and kill themselves on drugs.

Sly...you aren't a fool. But if you really think that people are using drugs just to choose to be irresponsible, then you need to open your eyes.

You're right...being addicted to drugs to the point of killing yourself isn't irresponsible, it's quite normal actually.

Please. I don't doubt there are a variety of reasons people take various drugs, but when you're addicted, and addicted to the point it causes you to commit suicide, I literally have very little sorrow in my heart for that person.

The simple fact is, the only reason people care in this thread is because he was a wrestler who used to entertain them. And to say they give a damn about this person is absurd, because if they truly cared about people who die, then they'd be far more interested in the people who pass away for reasons far out of their control.

I'll save my sorrow for the starving children, and not waste it on a suicidal drug addict.

BS, kb. How do you figure "they did it to themselves." Surprising.

He was Bi-Polar though which is a mental illness

Don't bother Ricky, I guess some people still don't understand the concept of mental illness and a disease like drug addiction. Of fucking course we should have sympathy and mourn for them.

As far as losing a wrestler goes, it sucks. I was a fan during his Positively Kanyon days in WCW. Losing a person do to drugs/suicide goes, I could care less. Like Sly and Kb have pointed out, he ultimately brought this upon himself with choices he made. To quote an awesome movie: We have no fate but what we make for ourselves.

I actually disagree with this, as many children are born into no-win situations, from which they'll be lucky to see their 15th birthday before they're raped, beaten and/or killed.

But, in a case like this, where a man had to be making a 6 figure annual salary in the biggest boom period in wrestling history, I have no sympathy for, and will go along with your quote.

Yeah, because drug addicts really have a choice that their parents freaking beat them as kids and therefore have attachment disorders making them feel utterly alone and unable to trust anyone.

The schizophrenic guy really has a choice that he thinks aliens are trying to steal his thoughts.

The guy who has been to war who freaking saw all of his friends get killed by a suicide bomber and as a result developed a pretty brutal case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder really has a choice about that happening. Furthermore, I guess he has a choice not to drink himself into a stupor, although if he didn't, he would constantly be reliving the moment in his mind.

Yeah, Sly. Screw those guys.

Even if he was mentally sick for his entire life, he still made choices. Mental illness doesn't force you to abuse drugs. I can be a contributing factor sure, but in the end those choices were made by him and him alone. Unfortunate that mental illness exists, but I'm not going to mourn over a man who chose to take his life in that direction. My bestfriend contemplated suicide years ago because of his depression. He said that he didn;t go through with it because he realized that he can make his own life what he wants it to be and that you can fight depression. He didn't blame anyone or anything for choices he had made. Man makes his own choices regardless of outside interference.

No I agree with what you said here. I meant only in this particular case. When grown men make bad decision and people act as if they had no choice at all.

Anyone who thinks he "brought this upon himself" or any other person who chooses suicide and/or self-medication with drugs is pretty ignorant. Hopefully none of my future patients encounter your insecurities and make them feel judged for feeling like crap.
