Again, I like the idea of this whole thing, and am going to post more in the NWS. I agree this is great for discussion. I don't agree this is a good way to pick a mod, is all.

Decision Reached​

Effective immediately, CH David returns to the competition to replace Tenta.

Yes, I realize this is sort of "giving in," but CH was only a point or two off the cut last round anyway before ole' sandy-vag went all self-righteous on us and took his ball and went home.

Sorry it took so long, but I made the decision that I wasn't going to worry about this while I was on vacation. The only people who lost out were the participants who had to wait an extra week to go onto the next round.

So CH David is back in.

Later today, I will annouce pairings for the next round. Three teams of two will compete in a debate style competition in one of our NWS's.

I also want to address those who are uncertain or who have criticized the use of this tournament for the selection of the next moderator. I want to point out that everyone in this tournament either has been discussed as a "someday mod" or has used this competition to make a name for themself as such.

I also wish to remind people that whomever wins this competition will be working directly with me on the non-wrestling sections. I do train people, you know. I've been on these forums for more than 3 years now, and on staff for two-and-a-half. I've been NWS moderator on two separate occassions, and was the admin who replaced Jonny and eventually took over for Jake. I think I've built up some form of credit to where people should take a look at this project and say "you know, maybe it's odd to me, but I trust IC's judgement." If I'm wrong, it affects nobody. If I'm right, it's fun AND serves a purpose. For the people who don't really make much of an impact around here outside of complaining, I'm not too concerned. I enjoy seeing young posters (like those in this contest) develop and go after something.

The Round of 6​

In this round, I have randomly paired up our 6 remaining rookies (SSC, CH David, Becker, Deej, Blue Cardinal, and Numbers) into 3 teams of 2 each.

This next round will occur in the Video Games section of the NWS's.

Your teams not only consist of two rookies, but both / all their pros as well.

Starting immediately, a thread will be set up in the Video Games Room asking which decade was the most important / influential in video gaming history. The 80's, 90's or 00's. I have researched each decade and found several arguments available for each. I have also assigned the decades.

The debate itself will close on Friday, and judges will convene. The winning team will see both of its members granted immunity from elimination. The other 4 will be "on the block," and two more rookies will be eliminated next weekend.

Team 80's - Deexter Jorgan and Numbers
Team 90's - CH David and Smooth Sexual Chocolate
Team '00's - Becker and Blue Cardinal
