I don't know about Seattle winning the division. Arizona didn't lose anyone of merit and they will be hungry in the weakest division in football. Seattle places second in the NFC West.

Kurt Warner had a miracle season last year. I doubt if he repeats his success, but with receivers like he has, you can never be sure.

As for my Minnesota Vikings last year we won ten games with the combination of Frerotte/Jackson. This year we have Rosenfels/Jackson, or Brett Favre. Last year we also had one of the five toughest schedules in the league. This year we have one of the top five easiest. So we'll definetly win more than ten games. I say 11-5 with Jackson/Rosenfels. 13-3 with Favre.

I personally, think you're better off with Michael Vick than Favre. You guys are the strongest running team in the game, and Vick fits the mold. He and Peterson could wreak HAVOC on opposing differences. Favre's arm is too far gone, I think, to play a full season. You have a great team, though. I predict a superbowl berth.

Philadelphia Eagles 11-5

My Eagles went out this off season and upgraded across the board, generating a younger, better O-line and adding Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy in the draft, that's 2 wins easily, in my opinion. We usually have two crapper games a year, we'll lose two division games, and one game vs the AFC West, probably @ San Diego. I'm not worried about losing Dawkins, and feel confident in McDermott as our new D Coordinator.

I'll go 11-5, either tied with New York, or better. Playoffs.

McCoy was a great pick! He's got loads and loads of talent, and is so athletic. He and Westbrook could do great things together. I agree with your prediction.

My team is the Oakland Raiders and I see this year as a season where they finally get back on the right track to the road back to the playoffs. The Raiders showed they had the talent and heart to go toe to toe, finishing 3-3 while beating playoff caliber teams near the end of last season, arguably costing both the Broncos and the Bucs playoff spots last year, and beating an up-and-coming Houston Texans team.

Defense was up and down throughout the season but with the line-backing core of Derrick Burgess, Kirk Morrison, Ricky Brown, and Thomas Howard (GO UTEP) seems balanced age wise and probably two of them will be selected to the pro bowl by season's end. Also, the secondary wasn't too bad, 16 ints. (10 in the NFL) and a corner no quarterback wants t deal with.

The offense finally woke up and began scoring in those final six games. The addition of Garcia I think definitely improves the offense, giving Russell a legit back-up just in case something bad happens. The O-Line is my only question about the offensive unit, gave up 39 sacks in 2008. Wide Receviers might not be great but they have the explosive Johnnie Lee Higgins Jr. (GO UTEP) who is a threat to burn anyone if he gets a little bit of room. Zach Miller is the returning leading receiver, who can get first downs when needed.

If Oakland can stay at .500 or above during the first half of the season, then I'm confident that they'll be in contention for the AFC West Division title.

My Prediction:
9-7
AFC Champs
Loss in the Wild Card Rd.

McCoy was a great pick! He's got loads and loads of talent, and is so athletic. He and Westbrook could do great things together. I agree with your prediction.

I'm really excited about his potential. He is an endzone guy, too. That cant be overlooked, in my opinion. He consistently scored while at Pitt, and that's a special skill. I hope he transfers it well. Unfortunately, he and Westbrook will have a short window to play with each other, but I feel very confident in this roster for the next two seasons, so hopefully we get it done and bring home the Lombardi.

As far as Favre to Minny though? I think it would be a disaster. Favre won't be a game manager. It's not him. All you have to do in Minny is hand it off and control the clock, which still makes me wonder why they didn't pursue Jeff Garcia more? He was the ideal fit.

I'm a Skins fan through and through, and right now...I see us going 8 - 8, maybe 9 - 7. Unless we can get our shit together, I don't see how we can do much better.

Right now, we really need to give Colt a try, give Campbell a shot, but honestly; what was the point of signing Brennan if we never intended to use him. We need a leader, we need a good QB, and after that maybe things will fall into place, and MAYBE Portis will stop getting so high on himself and settle down. But that's a lot of maybe's.

I'm probably going to get a lot of heat for this, but regardless of that here's my prediction for my Dallas Cowboys.

The loss of Owens does hurt the offence, but I think the team will rebound around his departure. Roy Williams is the new number 1 receiver and he is a great WR. He was off his game last year because he couldn't mesh with Romo, but now he has all summer and training camp to get accustomed to Romo and the rest of the offence. Jason Witten is arguably the best TE in the league and will continue his dominant play once again. Crayton, Austin, and Hurd will man the other WR spots and will do a fine job in that. The RB position is in good hands with tough-as-nails Marion Barber and the explosive Felix Jones. The O-line is good and should give Romo time to throw/run.

The Defence was also pretty good last year, but self-destructed too much and cost them games. Mike Jenkins had a decent year at CB as a rookie and should improve this year. DeMarcus Ware is a beast and simply can't be stopped and will be the anchor to the defence once again. The D-line is solid and big and should disrupt the opposing QBs.

Prediction:
Record: 12-4
Division Record: 4-2 (Division Winners)

The Cowboys are going to be good this year and will break their playoff losing streak. At least, they better.

Sure, we have some questions at wide receiver, but I am most confident these young guys can make explosive plays.

Where were you at the end of last year when Eli Manning was getting reamed because Plaxico wasn't there to bail his ass out? Putting all of your eggs in one basket with Nicks, in his first season isn't exactly encouraging.

I know you have a top defense, but your offense still has some questions. 13-3 in a division this tough is ridiculous IMO.

I'll go 11-5, either tied with New York, or better. Playoffs.

I don't really understand the constant blowing of Peters. Guy was a bum last year and gave up the most sacks in the league if I remember correctly. If he has his head out of his ass now, then I agree you'll be solid on that side of the line.

Also, losses of Johnson, Dawkins and Sheppard. Ouch. Not going to be easy as you think.

Moving on now, I really don't know. This team is hard to predict. Cleaning house of all the ignorant egotistical jackasses was easily the right thing to do. It tore apart our team chemistry. Not to mention the injury to Tony Romo last year. He has to stay healthy for us to go anywhere.

Schedule is pretty tough, December is once again going to be a pain in the ass...

@ Tampa Bay W
NEW YORK GIANTS W
CAROLINA W
@ Denver L
@ Kansas City W
ATLANTA W
SEATTLE W
@ Philadelphia L
@ Green Bay L
WASHINGTON W
OAKLAND W
@ New York Giants L
SAN DIEGO L
@ New Orleans W
@ Washington L
PHILADELPHIA W

Right now, I'd say 10-6 at best. 2nd in the division. Which would be phenomenal considering I see another bad December ^. I think the Eagles take it and the Giants fall a bit. Despite what uninformed jackasses in the media, and doom and gloom Cowboy bandwagoners think, we're still in alright shape offensively, and our running game with Barber, Jones and Choice should be among the best in the league if Garrett has the slightest bit of sense and lets it. He'll need to considering our pass blocking isn't exactly stellar. As for the loss of Owens and the WR corp, Meh, what the hell I wouldn't mind giving Marvin Harrison a call, maybe he's got enough left in him to be a #3 option behind Roy Williams and Jason Witten. Austin will provide some speed in the slot while Crayton is still Crayton. I'm not as worried about Roy taking over as the number 1 as others seem to be. He's settled in here now, and Romo won't constantly be looking to the other side of the field when he's wide open. This happened so much last year it was sickening.

Defensively, solid up front with one of the NFL's pass rushes, if not the best, and inconsistent at times in the secondary. We'll only be as good on D as the secondary will allow. Scandrick is coming along nicely and is actually the best CB outside of Newman. Jenkins needs to get his shit together, hopefully we'll have a healthy Newman for the majority of the season. Injuries would murk us.

All in all, no more whiny bitches for excuses and a pretty solid team overall if it can stay healthy.

I never only mentioned only Hakeem Nicks. If you read my sentence correctly, I was referring to young receiver corps of the Giants as a whole.

Mario Manningham is my personal favorite. Before he decided to lie about a drug test, he WAS projected as a top 20 draft pick out of the first round. During his rookie season, he obviously adapted to playbook and admitted this season he will "let his athleticism take over".

Not only Manningham, but David Tyree provides great physicality to our offense as well as Hakeem Nicks. Nicks is an elite route runner, had the largest hands out of the draft, & can make yards out of the catch.

I see the Giants going 4-2 against the division. Sharing 1-1 against both Eagles and Cowboys, and 2-0 against the Redskins. It may seem ridiculous to you, but it's very plausible. It happened last year for cryin' out loud.

It's not impossible going 4-0 against the AFC West, in my opinion either.

The freakin' Plaxico crap is overrated. Eli Manning played great games without Plaxico last season. His best one being the day or two after Plaxico shot himself in the leg, which was against the Redskins. Eli will not "decline" nor improve without Plax and Amani, he'll do fine. He plays behind a top 5 defense & a beast of a running game.

As for the 13-3 record. That's the Giants record at best. As seen last year, the Jints are known to blow a game or two, so it may be possible to go 3-1 against the AFC West, but that is a very very weak division. The Vikings, Panthers, Saints, and Falcons; should be wins. Though, the Giants have a lot of trouble against the Vikings in recent years, so it's probable a loss can be suffered there too. 11-5 at worst, IMO.

Damn. Why does my team have to be the Detroit Lions? Oh well here we go. First, I really hope that we have Daunte Culpepper start this year. He came to the off season workouts in the best shape of his life and his numbers were decent last year considering when he came in. He and Calvin Johnson have a good connection and those two together is a lot like Culpepper and Moss was. Stafford would struggle mightily with the Lions O line so he needs a year on the bench.

Our RB/WRs are actually pretty solid. Kevin Smith had a great rookie season at running back and we signed Maurice Morris as the backup. Calvin finally has some help at receiver. We signed Bryant Johnson to be the number 2 guy and we got Dennis Northcut to go in the slot. We also drafted Derrick Williams out of Penn State. Another one of our picks Brandon Pettigrew will give us a tight end who can actually make some plays. If our o line can hold up then the Lions shouls have a solid offense. Hopefully Jon Jansen can help the o line a lot because he was our only big signing for that position.

Defensively was where we were really bad last year. The only real upgrade our d line got was Grady Jackson and he might be suspended for the first few games of the season. We have some talent on the d line but it still won't be that great. We have a completely revamped secondary. We still have solid safetys in Kalvin Pearson and Daniel Bullocks. We also signed Marquand Manuel and drafted a Bob Sanders type safety in Louis Delmas. He is a small guy but a big hitter and a play maker. At corner we traded for Anthony Henry and we signed Phillip Buchanon and Eric King. The only corner we have returning that played significant time last year is Keith Smith. The secondary is much improved but still not great.

Then outside of Calvin Johnson and Jason Hanson (yes our kicker, who by the way is one of the greatest kickers of all time) we have one position where there are no real holes. The linebacker position. Last year the only good lb we had was Ernie Sims, who is a very underrated player because of the team he has around him. But now he has a lot more help. The Lions traded for a pro bowler in Julian Peterson to be their other outside linebacker and they got a super bowl winner in Larry Foote (who is a Detroit native) to patrol the middle. The Lions now have three legitimate pro bowl talents at linebacker.

The Lions will not got 0-16 again because they have definitely improved. Jim Scharwtz is a smart guy and he will be able to improve the team at least defensively especially with those linebackers. We also have Scott Linehan as the o coordinator so our offense should also be improved. The only problem is that the Lions biggest holes are in the trenches with the offensive and defensive lines. With that in mind I will give the Detroit Lions a 7-9 record, which is being very very generous. 4-6 wins is more likely but I can't do my boys like that.

Pittsburgh Steelers fan. We have more or less the whole team returning after our Super Bowl victory. The offensive line is a question mark, but it is pretty much every season, so I'm not too concerned. We lost Nate Washington who was a good #3 receiver, Limas Sweed will have to fill his shoes. Mendenhall should help in the backfield, along with Parker and Moore that is a very capable group. As long as this whole rape things doesn't get out of hand we also have one of the best quarterbacks in the game with Big Ben.

We didn't really lose anything in our front seven, aside from Larry Foote but he can easiliy be replaced by Laurence Timmons. A linebacking core of Timmons, Woodley, Harrison, and Farrior is freaking beastly.

Our secondary is kind of weak, especially with the loss of McFadden. But, we still have Polamalu and Ike, so it can't be that bad.

I'm saying 11-5 at worst considering the easy schedule, maybe 13-3

Well looking at the Steelers and the teams they play this year I can easily see them going 12-4. They usually lose one easy game a year which will be either Cleveland or Cinci. If not them it has to be an out of conference game. I do believe we will win the conference ad probably be a two seed in the AFC.

Thursday, Sept. 10 vs. Titans 8:30 p.m. (NBC)
I do think this game will be rough and more than likely low scoring but I see us coming out on top. Because we're at home and it's prime time baby...
Sunday, Sept 20 @ Bears 4:15 p.m. (CBS)
even with the addition of Jay Cutler The Bears aren't going to win...
Sunday, Sept. 27 @ Bengals 4:15 p.m. (CBS)

Sunday, Oct. 4 vs. Chargers 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Sunday, Oct. 25 vs. Vikings 1 p.m. (FOX)
Loss. too much to handle for some reason. Just to big up front.
Sunday, Nov. 1 BYE
this comes at a good week. right in the middle of the season.
Monday, Nov. 9 @ Broncos 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Win. The Bronco's didn't improve. Actually they regressed.
Sunday, Nov. 15 vs. Bengals 1 p.m. (CBS)

Sunday, Nov. 22 @ Chiefs * 1 p.m. (CBS)

Sunday, Dec. 6 vs. Raiders * 1 p.m. (CBS)
Win. Raiders suck.
Thursday, Dec. 10 @ Browns 8:20 p.m. (NFL Network)
Win.
Sunday, Dec. 20 vs. Packers * 1 p.m. (FOX)
I can see us losing this game. I don't know why, I just do.
Sunday, Dec. 27 vs. Ravens * 1 p.m. (CBS)
win... Because we're at home.
Sunday, Jan. 3 @ Dolphins * 1 p.m. (CBS)
I can see a loss because we'll already have the division wrapped up.

So I do believe the Steelers will finish 12-4, at worse they'll end up with an 11-5 record.

For the second consecutive year, I believe my favorite team, The Pittsburgh Steelers, will find themselves playing in the Super Bowl.

Aside from the most dominating defense since the Steel Curtain of the 70's, their offense can only improve over last year. I'm a little fearful of their receiving corps since Nate Washington signed with Tennessee and he was a major player concerning third down conversions last year.

Willie Parker is bound and determined to have a massive season and I honestly think there will be some MVP consideration thrown his way when all is said and done.

The team has one of the three best quarterbacks in the league and after his rape allegations in Nevada, I hope he takes his frustrations out on the field and turns himself into a one man wrecking crew.

Special teams has always been solid with concerns to the kicking game, Jeff Reed and a returning Daniel Sepulveda, so they should be spot on.

Plus, the Steelers haven't exactly been tested much when it comes to divisional opponents, so it's easy to expect a 6-0, or at the very least, a 5-1 record against the Browns, Bengals and Ravens.

When it's all said and done, I think they'll finish 12-4 and secure the number two seed in the AFC. The real Super Bowl may be the AFC Championship game where I see the Steelers travelling to Foxboro to beat the New England Patriots.

I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan & here's my prediction for the upcoming NFL Season.

Sure we lost Terrell Owens which when you look at it, it's a good thing that he's gone cause now their locker room aren't filled with whiney little bitches like him, Tank Johnson & Suckman Jones. Anyways, I too do believe that we will do fine with Roy Williams being T.O's replacement cause Roy is a great receiver & now that he's had a full summer to develop a stong chemistry with Romo then Roy will get back to doing what has made him a great receiver in the NFL. Jason Witten is one of the top TE's in the NFL & now that he's healthy coming into the season, I belive that he'll continue his dominate ways & put up some great numbers & go to the pro bowl once again. The RB position in my opinion is definitely the strong point of the team as you have a tough as nails back in Marion "The Barbarian" Barber, Felix Jones when healthy can be the homerun threat that compliments Barber nicely & also when healthy Felix Jones can put up some great numbers & we also have Tashard Choice who did very well when both Barber & Jones were hit with injuries last season. My concerns on offense are the play calling cause there were times last season as to where it was questionable & also the pass blocking was a bit average at best last year & hopefully with Kosiar back from injuries, maybe our O-Line will do better this season.

Now onto our defense, our d-line is solid with Jay Ratliff being one of the more dominate NT's in the league last season & I believe last seasons success will translate into bigger success for this season. Also with the addition of Igor Olshansky from the Chargers to replace Canty, I believe our D-Line won't suffer at all. Our linebacker core has the person who should've been defensive player of the year last year in DeMarcus Ware & a guy who should've been to the Pro Bowl last year in Bradie James. The addition of Keith Brooking to replace Zach Thomas will be interesting to see as Brooking was a good linebacker for many years with the Falcons & of course with Anthony Spencer to replace Greg Ellis at the linebacker spot, I think our LB's will do a good job. Now our Secondary is very questionable as Terrence Newman when healthy is one of the best CB's in the NFL & the only other decent corner we have opposite of him right now is Orlando Scandrick who is entering his 2nd season. Mike Jenkins needs to get his shit together.

All in all, if the injury bug mainly stays the hell away from us this season, then i'd say we'll be either a 10-6 team or an 11-5 team with a playoff appearance of course.

I can not get technical here, as I just have really started watching football since roughly one year. I am an Indianapolis Colts fan, and they do, from what iv'e seen, win pretty frequently. I couldn't tell you who was even in the team or the line up, aside from Payton Manning being the QB. He's what drawed me into football, or Colts, or more specifically, a match between the Colts and somebody, maybe Bears? Anyway, ever since I have been an avid football fan. I don't know who Colts will be facing, or if it's already determined who they're facing yet, but i'll randomly guess: 11 - 5

My NFL team will go 184-192 I assume this year, and will make the playoffs 11 times. Yes, that is because my NFL team is actually ever NFL team not based out of New England. Sorry, I don't watch football that much, but if I do, it is to cheer against the New England Patriots. But I still gave them a playoff ticket and a good season:)

However, if I had to cheer for just one team, well, Becker taught me well, and it would be the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a very easy schedule in comparison to last years, I predict that they will go 14-2, beating out the Baltimore Ravens for top spot, a team that they will face just after Christmas in a great rematch from last year.

Last year may have been the worst year in Jacksonville Jaguars franchise history. Although we had a worse record in 1995, it was our first year of existance. Last year we were slated to go deep into the play-offs, some people even had us going to the Super Bowl. But the Jags finished with a terrible 5-11 record. Not only that, we had players get arrested off the field (Matt Jones, Reggie Williams, Gerald Sensabaugh) and had players challenge the coach (Mike Peterson). On top of that, the team gave up on Monday Night Football against the Texans. I was embarrassed to call myself a Jacksonville Jaguars fan after that game. But last season did do something right; it brought change.

The Jaguars overhauled the front office. Gone is old GM Shack Harris, and good riddane. His tenure here was just an all around failure. Replacing him is Gene Smith. So far, I have loved everything this guy has done. He is getting rid of bad character guys and bringing in veterans (Torry Holt, Tra Thomas) to help guide our young players. It appears that Smith did an amazing job in the draft. Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton should be on the offensive line for the next 10 years. The Jags also got some good receivers.

As excited as I am for this season, I am realistic and realize that we are rebuilding and its going to take some time to get back to the level we were a few seasons ago. I'll go game by game and choose win and loss.

@ Ind - Win
Ari - Loss
@Hou - Loss
Ten - Loss
@Sea - Win
St. Lou - Win
BYE WEEK
@Ten - Loss
KC - Win
@NYJ - Win
BUF - Loss
@SF - Loss
Hou - Win
Mia - Win
Ind - Loss
@NE - Loss
@Cle - Win

So I have the Jacksonville Jaguars going 8-8. I have a feeling that would be if everything goes perfectly. What is more realistic is 6-10 or 7-9. I honestly don't care what the record is, as long as we show improvement.

I also just realized we're not playing the Steelers this year, for only the 2nd time in history. I love the games against the Steelers because they are always tough and physical. I'm not sure if I have ever seen a boring Jags-Steelers game.

Ahh got to love the haters. It's okay TM, just because your country doesn't have a football team and the Patriots are the best football team of this decade doesn't mean you have to be so jealous. You've got the CFL...:lmao:

However, if I had to cheer for just one team, well, Becker taught me well, and it would be the Pittsburgh Packers. With a very easy schedule in comparison to last years, I predict that they will go 14-2, beating out the Baltimore Ravens for top spot, a team that they will face just after Christmas in a great rematch from last year.

...And this is why Canadians shouldn't talk about football. I'm not sure where to even begin with the things wrong with that paragraph. The only thing I'll say is that the Packers play in Green Bay TM.

When it's all said and done, I think they'll finish 12-4 and secure the number two seed in the AFC. The real Super Bowl may be the AFC Championship game where I see the Steelers travelling to Foxboro to beat the New England Patriots.

Haha we'll see buddy. Remember we've got the best QB in the NFL back now.

Obviously if you can't tell I'm a Patriots fan and always have been. I predict this season to be yet another successful one for us. Considering we won 11 games last year with just about every single one of our impact players injured (Brady, Rodney Harrison, Adalius Thomas) I'd say it's pretty damn obvious we're going to be a much better team this year. Especially with young guys like Jerod Mayo (Defensive ROTY) only improving.

All the reports on Brady thus far is that the surgery went great and that he's going to be just fine (Thank you LORD!), so that immediately adds a few wins for us IMO. I expect nothing less than another mind-blowing season from the man, with somewhere around 30-40 TD passes. We've still got one of the very best receiving duos in the league in Moss and Welker, and now with the addition of Joey Galloway it only adds more weapons for Brady to use. Our running game is still very solid with Maroney, Morris & Faulk, and now with the addition of a guy like Fred Taylor it has the opportunity to explode at any time.

The only issues I see for our team this year are the same issues from last year; we need some more help in our secondary, and our O-Line needs to live up to their reputation. Our O-Line has been one of the best in the league for years and years, until last year apparently all of them forget how to block (and this is a line with some of the best lineman in the damn league). If our O-Line can play like I know they can, and if our secondary can avoid giving up the big plays, I see it being a damn tall task for any team to beat us this year.

We've got a pretty damn easy schedule as well. Aside from the usual midseason showdown with the Colts, we're pretty much facing nothing but B-teams all season long. The Jets don't stand a chance in hell without Favre, the Dolphins were a fluke, and the Bills will continue to go nowhere, they aren't ready for the big time yet. Should be an extremely easy year for the Pats, I'm predicting a bold record of 14-2. That's right, 14 wins. Look at our schedule, who the hell is going to beat us more than twice?

Oh and we've got Bill Belichick, by far the best coach in the NFL. Did I forget to mention that? :D

As long as we stay healthy and play the good defense we've been known for, I see no reason why we can't win yet another Super Bowl this year.

He is regarded by the majority of scouts and player personnel as the best at his position, one of the three most important positions on the field. His sacks allowed number was inflated last year by a crappy supporting cast along side him on the Bills' line. If there's anything the Eagles know it's lineman.

Dawkins? Not very worried. Struggled in coverage all year, even late in the year all he played was near the line of scrimmage. I'll miss the guy, but he's not the biggest loss in the entire NFL this off season.

Lito Sheppard I loved, but he sucked last year. I'm more than happy to rid ourselves of a chronic complainer who moved down to our 4th CB last season.

Jim Johnson hurts, but looking at his track record of his protege's success (Ron Rivera, Steve Spagnoulo, Jim Harbough, and Leslie Fraizer. The players LOVE Sean McDermott, and many have said he did just as much of the gameplanning last year as Jim Johnson did.

win, bengals suck.

Don't agree there. The Bengals are an up and coming team. I don't see the Steelers going 2-0 against Cincinnati. The Bengals may actually snatch the division title if Steelers fans overlook them like that.

The Bengals had the 12th ranked overall defense in the league.

And they only managed to win 4 games. Which is pretty much a joke.

That obviously means their offense sucked. This year, Carson Palmer, whom is a top 5 QB in the league, returns healthy in 2009. Along with a motivated Chad Johnson. Their offensive line has been upgraded with experience, free agents, and the great draft they had in the consistent Jason Smith.

Their offense will return to amongst the NFL's elite in 2009.

If that happens, the Bengals are without a question a 10-6 to an 11-5 caliber team if they are healthy. Hell, they might even win the division.

I never only mentioned only Hakeem Nicks. If you read my sentence correctly, I was referring to young receiver corps of the Giants as a whole.

A young WR corp that is completely unproven. My entire point. It's also pretty well thought that Nicks is getting Plaxico's spot as a rookie. I'd be shocked if he didn't. Again, not encouraging since history shows WR is one of the positions it takes awhile to adjust too and because it says alot about the development of those young, unproven WR's.

Look at the difference between the beginning of last year and now. Burress/Toomer or Smith/Hixon or Nicks. lulz. Tell me which you'd be more comfy with.

I also think that beast of a running game is going to take a hit with the loss of Ward.

He is regarded by the majority of scouts and player personnel as the best at his position, one of the three most important positions on the field. His sacks allowed number was inflated last year by a crappy supporting cast along side him on the Bills' line. If there's anything the Eagles know it's lineman.

He's not. Jones, Roos, and Thomas are all just as good, if not better than he is. Hell, even Gaither when you look at all the DPOY candidates he had to face and kept in check last year. 11.5 sacks in only 13 starts is a number I'm not going to ignore. I don't give a shit what team you play on. That's awful, and he has character issues. He has alot to prove this year.

Dawkins? Not very worried. Struggled in coverage all year, even late in the year all he played was near the line of scrimmage. I'll miss the guy, but he's not the biggest loss in the entire NFL this off season.

Nobody said he was. But he was the leader of your defense, and still a good player.

The losses of Sheppard and Johnson are wait and see. I agree and don't think losing Lito will affect you as much as the other two, but who knows.

Hopefully we can keep all of them happy (you know how hard this is to do with everyone when Wade is your coach ). Barber's toe injury is healed now, so hopefully he gets back in gear this year and we get rid of him and keep the other two at the end of the season. His bruiser mentality is already taking effect. But yeah, even if he's average that's still going to be one of the best groups in football.

While on the topic of Barber, do you think Jason Garrett will actually get a fucking clue and realize the toss plays should be for Felix Jones and not Marion? :lmao: That pissed me off so much early last season.

I also think that beast of a running game is going to take a hit with the loss of Ward.

Untrue. The Giants have a top 3 run-oriented offensive line in the league. If anything, backs like Ahmad Bradshaw or Danny Ware can fill in nicely.

Come to think of it, I think any running back on the Giants O-line can look good.

You're misinformed too. Hakeem Nicks won't "replace" Plax. Please don't take that crap from the media. You won't hear me say something as stupid such as Roy Williams hasn't proven himself either. Oh wait.

Sacks allowed is a BS stat Wes. The QB can scramble right into a sack, lineman shift to cover each other's misses, I'm not worried at all about Peter's walking in and producing.

His production can be replaced, and the leadership aspect is very overrated.

Even if Lito goes out for the Jets and gets 6 picks I won't regret it, he wasn't going to see the field this year after his terrible production last year. I wish him the best.

Every offseason for the past couple of years, Brett Favre has teased retirement, but ultimately played another season. Last year, he actually retired officially, but was reinstated and signed with the Jets of New York. Favre looked great for the first part of the season, but his arm burned out around week 13 and they went on a four game skid, narrowly missing the playoffs. Again, Brett said he was done. He seemed more sure of his decision this time, and up until a month or two ago, still fervently denied rumors of interest in playing for the Vikings. Then, he had surgery on his arm and it was confirmed that the two parties were seriously talking. Favre has been getting frequent visits from members of the Vikings staff and has been working out daily at the local high school. When it looked as though all that was left to do was for Brett to sign on the dotted line, things were thrown into question again. Favre isn't sure about his arm, and a decision is still yet to be reached. Training camp is rapidly approaching, and the Vikings may just have to move ahead without Brett if he doesn't decide quickly.

Will Brett sign with the Vikings? How will he do next year, in the case that he does? How do the Vikings do as a team, with and without him. How does Brett affect the locker room, and how will his arm hold up? Is Favre a good fit? There a lot of questions surrounding the situation. Discuss.

Will Brett sign with the Vikings?

When he's ready, yes. He does this shit every year, and it always ends the same. He'll attention ****e all offseason and be back on the field again the next year. Same ol' song and dance for Favre.

How will he do next year, in the case that he does?

About to same as he did with the Jets, only less passing obviously. I don't expect him to be any better or worse overall.

How do the Vikings do as a team, with and without him.

With, legit Super Bowl contender.

Without, they may not even win their own division. Jackson is pure ass and has proven time and time again that he doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB. Rosencopter is a career backup.

How does Brett affect the locker room

Fine after training camp, and the first few games excluding the games against Green Bay. The media is going to be a bitch and I'm sure quiet a few will get annoyed.
and how will his arm hold up?

Fine. He has the best running back in football in the backfield and one of the best offensive lines in front of him.

Is Favre a good fit?

Perfect provided he isn't asked to do too much. Which he won't be as long as Peterson is healthy.

Edit: Fuck, I was wrong. Fuck you Favre, you POS :suspic:

Yes I do think Favre will sign with the Vikings. I read a story on how Favre is second-guessing coming back, but he heard that the Vikings players were excited to have him and now he feels obligated to join them. Because of this, whether true or not, I think he becomes a Viking before Training Camp.

As for how he will do with them, he will definitely make them a better team. He will give them stability at the QB position and that will ultimately help out the other positions as well. The WRs will have a competent WB throwing to them and it makes Peterson more dangerous because teams will now have to focus more on the passing game instead of focusing on Peterson completely. He makes Minnesota a contender, if he stays healthy, but it seems that won't be a problem.

He won't be a distraction in the locker room either. He doesn't seem like the player that makes divisions in the locker room between players and he's obviously a good leader so he will help that team. I think he arm will hold up because, like Wes said, he's not going to be relied on heavily to throw a lot since Peterson is there. If he does sign, it is a very good fit for the Minnesota Vikings.

Side Note: I am getting pretty tired of this act by Favre though. How many times can you retire and come back 2 months later? He has to have a better head about this. If he signs with the Vikings, he better be sure at the end of the season, if he even has a thought about playing again then play again.

He was a 1000 yard rusher in a #2 role. You're going to take a hit. It won't be that bad, but it'll be a hit.

then who is? Hixon? Smith? Where is your big downfield physical threat going to come from? Eli Manning has shown he needs one. Hixon isn't a reliable/good #1 target, and Smith is best served creating mismatches in the slot. And if Manningham was coming along so nicely, I doubt you draft Barden.

Yeah, because Trent Edwards is going to scramble to his left side

It's not a bullshit stat when you ask the Buffalo fans who actually watched all the games. When that trade was rumored, I read around before and after it of whether or not they should trade him and pretty much all of them and columnists were ripping Peters a new ass calling him a softy and a whiny bitch moping around because of his contract. If he turns into the same player he was in 2007, fine. Good for him and you. But he has alot to prove. He was garbage last year, and everyone of those guys I named were better.

Brian Dawkins is Brian fucking Dawkins. That's all the needs to be said. Very few are as vocal, tough and determined as he is. His leadership aspect is rated just right IYAM.
