NFL Draft 2010

Seattle has to be the dumbest organization in the league right now. First, they let Brandon Marshall slip away from them, and then they don't draft Jimmy Clausen with that 14th Pick. Fucking dumb asses. How incompetent can a professional organization be?

They like giving a lot of money to QBs who are behind Billy Volek on a team depth chart.

I think if Claussen didn't come off as such a doucher, he might go higher. That and the failure of Brady Quinn hurts him.
I really don't think that has anything to do with it.

I think it's simply the fact these teams feel they have greater needs than a QB. I mean, when you think about it, the NFL is probably as talented at QB as it ever has been in history. QB really just isn't that much in demand.

I said possibly the Niners. The Steelers aren't wasting a first-round pick on a quarterback. Broncos already traded for Quinn, and aren't going to throw a third player into the QB-Battle between Quinn/Orton. Same goes for Arizona and Leinart/Anderson. I see the Vikings a possiblilty.

Steelers aren't wasting a first rounder on a QB... I'd say its a distinct possibility with how desperate they are to wash their hands of Roethlisberger. They only tried calling every team in the top 10 to get a taker for him.

Clausen has potential to be better than Quinn/Orton and Leinart/Anderson. It's not like teams haven't taken a QB and stashed them on the bench for a season or two before so they can get eased into being a starting QB. They can still have those tandems battle it out for the short term and have Clausen ready to go for the long term.

incompetant enough to get 2 needs bigger then QB. Hasselbeck needs pretection, and they needed secondary help. They aren't high on Claussen, and Carroll played against him 3 times as USC coach.

EDIT: also, the 11 QB class is supposedly better. And they can always get a QB round 2 (McCoy/maybe Tebow)

Hasselback's way past his prime at this point, and injury prone. Hell, he was never that good to begin with if you ask me. It was the perfect time for Seattle to move on, especially when you have an experienced QB like Hassleback there to help Clausen in his first year. But, they fucked it up and will continue to live in mediocrity the next few years, if not decades.

I agree, but needs were there with teams like Cleveland, Buffalo, Oakland, San Fran arguably, but you want your QB, especially a first round QB, to be the face of the franchise. At very least, the guy will have a good amount of attention. He doesn't come off like a guy you want representing your team, in my opinion. His personality is definitely a hinderance in this draft, but lack of need in this area is definitely causing a free fall as opposed to a little fall.

Again, they must feel like they can get 1 more year out of Hasselbeck. And as I said, Carroll might not like Claussen. Not everyone likes him, and Carroll played Claussen 3 times, might not like him.

But if you can get a guy you think will upgrade your QB position in the second, or even third round (I'm thinking McCoy, or even Tebow), then why not take a big need in the first round, especially with QB's commanding SOOO much money in contracts.

EDIT: Not to mention, Oakland and San Fran still have #1 overall picks on their roster, and Cleveland just signed Jake Delhomme.

All the teams passing up Clausen are going to HIGHLY regret it, much like all the morons who passed Aaron Rogers are regretting it now.

There's no doubt in my mind that Jimmy Clausen is going to be a big time quarterback in this league within 3 years. No doubt.

Kiper is awful, I didn't realize it until today. I don't think he has gotten one right outside of the obvious top 3
