Next Week: The Nexus vs. John Cena!

Just now on RAW we saw John Cena go completely ballistic on Darren Young after refusing to shake Wade Barrett's hand. (It made sense in context). As punishment, the anonymous GM punished Cena by placing him in a match with all of the Nexus next week on RAW!

What do you think is going to happen with this match, and why?

Well, since it seems Young is out of the picture D), it looks to be a six-on-one handicap match. That is, if it ever gets going. There's the possibility Cena brings out his Frontline like we saw today, or that the Nexus dominates Cena before the match gets started.

Personally, I hope the match proceeds as advertised. The Nexus really need to get into the ring, and this could be a good way to show off the stronger members (Tarver, Barrett, Gabriel) while hiding the weaknesses of Otunga and Sheffield.

Plus, if Cena loses he can go down fighting, which would make for some promo fuel down the road. Or he could get dominated while the announcers put over how unfair it is. Several possibilities here.

I think the gm would probably add some stip to the match saying if they don't compete or if anyone interfer's. Well either get suspened or fired in kayable. The match itself probably won't even last 10 minutes. But it should be good for storyline devlopment though.

Nothing to exciting for me.
Personally I feel nothing is going to happen or deviate from a Cena beat down. Hopefully no superman act goes down and he takes them down alone, which I highly doubt will happen to be honest.
What I would like to see is someone hooded interfere, and have that be his first of many run ins to help Cena. Down the road reveal that person to be Danielson. Kind of generic, but oh well creativity is not me

I'm pretty sure that Young is out of the picture. I think Cena said 6 on 1 right before the show ended.

I too would like this match to go on as advertised. It could really further this storyline, but I think that there really is no way that this goes on as planned. It just doesnt go with the attitude of the Nexus. They are being built as a ruthless group. It will turn into a brawl between the Nexus and Cena and then the rest of the locker room will come out once again.

However, I would be surprised if the match changes in some way. One possibility would be that more members of the Nexus get taken out of the match one way or another. Then by the time of the match, it becomes maybe a 3 on 1, 2 on 1, or even 1 on 1. The second possibility would be that it turns into a tag match, with Cena teaming with Henry or Bourne.

I think we're going to see Nexus leave Cena lying in the ring to close the show next week. I fully expect Barrett to find his way into MITB (replacing R-Truth) then cash it in during or after the cage match vs. Cena/Sheamus. Next week's RAW is going to focus on Barrett. I think he'll be defending the belt vs. Cena, with Rock (by now the announced anonymous GM) as special guest referee at Summer Slam.

just as long as they don't ruin the whole angle with Cena beating them all up at one time, i'll be happy. It would be devastating to see them beat ass for all these weeks only to have Cena "hulk up" and beat the crap out of them.

Personally, i hope another Cena beat down. It's cool seeing him look human as of late.

The best possible booking for this match in my opinion would go as follows:

Young is hurt and shows up to Raw bandaged up in some regard. The GM decrees that if Nexus get disqualified from the match, they are suspended for a month, thus ending any possibility of interference, save for doing so behind the ref's back. The GM also decrees that any Raw member caught getting involved will also be suspended a month and removed from the MITB pay per view if they are slated to be in it. Right before the match, Evan Bourne comes out and says that he's willing to risk his spot in MITB because if Nexus keep running rampant, he may not survive anyway. He wants in the match, making it 6 on 2. The GM sends an email and says that Bourne can be in the match, but if he gets pinned, he is out of the Money in the Bank match.

With all that in place, you can do so much with the booking. You could have Nexus go over, being sneaky and getting the win. Bourne could get pinned and later on get revenge to get him over great as a face. Cena could get pinned, saving Bourne's spot in MITB and still making Bourne look like gold. Bourne could win then get beat up after the match along with Cena, putting both in jeopardy for the PPV. The possibilities are truly endless. I just think inserting Bourne would do wonders for him as a babyface, as seemingly anyone could align themselves against Nexus and get cheers. Hell, if Barack Obama showed up at a show in Texas to a chorus of boos and then announced that he was against Nexus' actions, he'd get the biggest face pop since Austin on a beer truck. That's how over as heels the group is, and since WWE is intent on pushing Bourne, this storyline is the perfect way to get him over as a major face.

I've been a wrestling fan for many many years, and I think it would be the ultimate swerve next week if...Wait for it....During the Nexus vs Cena Match....Typical Beatdown going on and then when someone/someones come out to help Cena....Swerrve...Cena Is the Leader of Nexus and turns Heel....Tell me that wouldnt be the best thing to happen to Raw in a long time...

I think that Cena might lose this handicap match, but he'll take out another Nexus member. He did on his word say that he will get every one of them.

Does it reall matter? Every couple of weeks Nexus gets the crap ,beaten out of them by Cena and the Jobber Express. You would never see the Horseman losing a brawl when the Mulkies and Pez Whatley came out to help Dusty or the Rock and Roll Express, or the NWO lose a brawl when Larry Zybsko, Scotty Riggs and High Voltage came out to save Savage or Luger. Yet somehow the WWE thinks a big bad heel group should lose brawls to Goldust, Santino, and Lawler every couple of weeks.

Nexus should just devastate Cena almost immediately, keep on beating him down, destroy every midcarder who decides to help, and then when Jericho, Orton, Edge, and Sheemus come out at the same time leave the ring and announce on a mic "we had a deal" to end the show. Lawler or Cole will be asking at the last moment Who is the deal with? But even if this happened the next week Mark Henry will lead the Jobber Express to beatdown Nexus again.

i see 1 of 2 things happening next week....

1. main event for raw is the 7 on 1 or 6 on 1 handicap match and from the start of the show i think cena sneaks around taking members of nexus out one by one until theres only barrett left and its a fair 1 on 1 match, cena wins, end of show. at mitb the cage rises after cena gets the title back and nexus swarms the ring destroying cena allowing whoever won raw's ladder match to come out and pick up the belt with ease.

2.(most likely to happen) nexus beats the crap out of cena and after the match we see the locker room come out to help then they are stopped by whoever ends up being the gm revealing themselves...im thinking stone cold just because this week michael cole got a message from the gm that said "if you wanna see randy orton and evan bourne vs edge and chris jericho, give me a hell yeah". not to change the subject of the thread but that's a stone cold catch phrase and leads me to believe that he'd be the new gm.

I think the faces and the legends are going to come out and surround the ring to make sure nothing goes wrong , then cena will win the match or get close to winning and the nexus all gang up on him and the faces and the legends destroy them .

I would go with what gorechild*said. During the show Cena divides and conquers. He takes out each member of Nexus one by one, saving Barrett for last. Then at the end of the night its Barrett vs Cena. From there it can either be a 1 on 1 or Nexus comes back out and then the locker room and a brawl happens. Its not like it hasn't been done before. Remember when The Rock took out the McMahons and DX leaving Triple H for last?

How bout that cena trying to get all the fans respect by what i would call dipping a toe into the heel pool by going all crazy; hey even hogan had the dark days with that "broken neck" and all black...but yeah i think darren young is going to sell the injuries theus being out and this raw will focus more on the nexus members so in saying that...
Another option people seemed to overlook for the 7-1, was possibly for the viper himself to get invovled in cenas match(remember he said he would fight by cenas side if he had to or something of that sorts?), which would b crazy to some of you noting that he would have to pull double duty but here me out on this one this is how i think stuff my go down...ok so we come to the orton-edge match which cant be overdone but maybe get saved for another time, we see orton make his entrance all pumped up, focused,and ready to go, does the usual and then we hear edges entrance and then boom thats the hook, we see nexus attack orton from behind til what some of you guys call the "jobber express" and cena come out and make the save and nexus thinking they got the 1up on all of them and happy...so we go to later in the night main event time, i can see to things with the somewhat same result happening a)we get cena come out being all pumped but nervous probably thinking "damn i shouldve learned more moves" and nexus say the gm wanted it 7 on 1 so we r keeping it 7 on 1 and then we hear edges music and we get someone who can probably carry the match and help out the nexus guys so they dont come off looking green or b) we get nexus coming down first ready and pumped...then we get cena next ready to go but a little hesitant then we go to the lights flashing and the sound of what appears to be aol instant messanger and then we get cole reading an email from the mystery gm stating that after taking account of their earlier actions that he has was thinking maybe the now 6 on 1 is a little too much so cena will have a partner and that partner is the viper randy orton!! then here comes "i hear voices in my head..." selling the injuries of course, then they brawl and now we get a epic match jsut like when cena and orton had to team up against the raw roster..so we get to the closing of the match with the all the nexus attacking thus ending the match in a dq and we get what we got tonight the mid carders coming down and making the save while this time we get heath slater getting caught with orton and cena and then boom we see a epic rko/attitude adjustment with the faces standing tall to close the show.....

It's going to be 6 on 1. Young's done at least for the match (he might interfere) so that leaves the rest of the team to deal with Cena. I can see this going to a no contest after a roster invasion or something along those lines. Sheamus is slowly looking more likely to help Cena though I don't believe they'll pay that off until Money in the Bank. I'm going to assume we'll see more of Orton potentially helping Cena. It's an interesting one and I'm not going to take it for granted that the finish will be no contest.

I think this has potential. It can either fail to get the majority of The Nexus over and only get Wade or someone else over properly.

It could as well prove to be something that succeeds in getting all 7 of them over as legitimate contenders if they get in a proper hard-fought battle with John. It's all about creating it as a 7 on 1 tag team match instead of a 7 on 1 all out brawl.

I think that WWE should try and build this as an elimination tag team match. Kinda like the one Triple H booked Randy Orton and John Cena in leading up to Wrestlemania 24. Where the match doesn't stop until everyone is out.

But ultimately this could also fail so miserably that it puts nobody over. This is the final theory that I seriously doubt will happen. Because John is a great seller. He's good at putting people over. And therefore I really doubt that fighting. As well as feuding with John Cena does not get you over.

Time will show nonetheless. But this match is gonna be good. At least I hope.

I think this match is going to be the main event of RAW next week. Look at Cena's beat down of Darren Young.. I'm pretty sure through out the show Cena is gonna try and one by one pick off Nexus so by the main event it's maybe only a 2 on 1 or 3 on 1. In which case he will win in normal Cena fashion. Haha if we were talking about any wrestler here I'd say... It'll play as is.. but you have to remember it's Super Cena.... He's going to win.

Yes its Nexus vs Cena, and what i expect is wrestling. Thats what i heard WWE was about you know? Thats what i expect, do you expect a dance off? Your post is hilariously not belonged but i will give my opinion.

Cena loses, theres no way one man can take on 7 even in a story line its just stupid. Too much fake injuries and bad timings. Its going to end in a way where people boo and cheer Cena when he tries and then ends up failing. The more i read this post the more sad i think it is, its not even needed really. But hey i guess people get to post play by plays, no need for the article.

I have to agree, I hope it goes as it's advertised, but I highly doubt it. There is no way that this will end in a clean win for the Nexus as it should.

I can see it happening like Cena takes out a few of them, the numbers game catches up with him eventually with about three of them left (Barrett, Tarver and Gabriel probably), before Sheamus (foes working together to save the WWE as we've seen recently) runs down, takes out Tarver and Gabriel, and in all the distraction, Barrett gets a dirty victory over Cena.

I hate writing about what I think will happen because it's rarely right, and we don't know until it's happened, but I'll be disappointed if it happens like that, I want Nexus to destroy Cena in a proper match this time, not because I'm a Cena hater, I'm not at all, I just want to see where it could go if they did win, they'd instantly be more credible if they had a pinfall victory over the face of the WWE.

I am really looking forward to seeing the Nexus actually do some of their talking with their wrestling and it looks as though next week will be the time when I get to see that. However, it would be stupid to think that this will be more than a coordinated attack on Cena. I doubt I will get to see too much of these guys in the ring and if I do, it will only be when they are whooping Cena’s ass. Shame really because I would love to se ehow these guys are progressing. We know that they are getting better on the mic but they are still an unproven quantity in the ring and I would have loved to see some of the question surrounding their performance in the ring answered next week. Time will tell.

As for what I think will happen, I think it is pretty clear. Cena will get beaten down for most of the match before making a heroic comeback before being put away by Wade’s finisher as the Nexus’ numbers catch up him. I swear if he manages to beat all six of them, then I might cry because that is taking things too far. If he somehow manages to get some help, or something untoward happened to the Nexus members then that is OK. However, Cena beating the six of them in a tag matc, with no tag team partner would be ridiculous and I hope that the WWE doesn’t consider that. I do expect that Cena will be trying to take out another member of the Nexus after his statements last night about getting each and every one of the. After his attack on Darren Young, I think he is pretty serious and I would be surprised if something like that didn’t happen again.

I think Cena will face the Nexus 7-1 or 6-1 and have his moments of dominance and then get the beatdown of a lifetime until the Raw locker room empties to save Cena. This will end the show.

At the Money in the Bank PPV, in the Raw MITB match, the last person to enter (replacement for R-Truth) will be HHH who returns and wins the match and then following the Cage Match in which either Shemus or Cena win, doesn't really matter, both are destroyed by The Nexus and HHH cashes in the briefcase to win the Championship and announcing himself as the leader of the Nexus group.

The PPV will end with HHH and the Nexus 7 standing in the ring.

i got believe next monday Cena will be standing/ we will know what Orton does . Got believe of 4 nights of Nexus beatdowns that the next week or 2 Nexus will be getting there fair share of fights and take outs. I got to think all of Jericho, Edge and Sheamus cockyness will eventually come back and bit them with a Nexus beatdown. and at somepoint if they take this far. Sheamus wins Cage Match after Nexus attacks him for a New Champ come down in Money in the Bank but before that happens they attack the challenger leaving MITB open. This sets up Sheamus Edge Jericho Orton Cena McMahon Bourne vs Nexus one night down the road to settle it and the break up off the Nexus begins ..

U can only do so much of Cena beatdowns before really gets old

I'm very excited for this match, however I just don't see it going down as a straight up match. I believe that after last night, with his assault on Darren Young, that the Nexus will just scare the referee away and just turn this into an all out brawl against Cena where they will just decimate him and punish him.

However, if this is going to be a straight up match, I believe Cena will attempt to take out another member or two of the Nexus before the match gets underway, possibly Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. Cena should not win this match, not by a long shot, these guys need to look strong, even if it's a handicap match, they all need to look strong to keep their credibility as a dominant stable. If Cena beats them all, all of their credibility gets washed away with a loss.
