NCAA Football LD, 2013 season

I thought spiking the football is a penalty in college football. I wonder why there was no flag for taunting.

Thank god FSU pulled it out. I don't think I could take another year of "S-E-C" rabble rabble. Jameis, I tip my hat to you. You played great in the 2nd half.

A shame that a team can play a bunch of nobodies, in and out of conference, all year and be called champion. Thankfully we get a playoff starting next year.

Thank you! That's what I've been saying about the SEC for years.

Jameis Winston played like a Heisman on that last drive.

Shhh, you're an SEC guy now. I think we can all be happy that the BCS Is dead and buried. Hopefully the 4 team playoff gets us to 8.

I came in here to make a sarcastic post making fun of the NCAA's reasons we can't go to 8 teams but they're so stupid I can't make fun of them.

I'll never be an SEC guy...at least not for a few years yet. And Notre Dame doesn't have a conference.

I don't have a problem with SEC teams, aside from the rampant amounts of cheating which occurs in recruiting. My problem is the arrogance of SEC fans and biased media.

Yeah, I fully expect no less than two SEC teams in the playoff next year.

For the record, I had no problem with Auburn in the title game this year or even Alabama last year. But there have been several years where the SEC has received favors no other conference has ever received in the BCS era.

To be fair, they got burned with Auburn 10 years ago. Then they started winning over and over again, and the SEC momentum steam rolled. Some of it was inflated. I'm sure the next few years we'll be pissed with the top 4 playoff.

It wasn't the SEC's best year and you can debate whether FSU played a tough enough schedule all you like, but the SEC lost. I guess they'll have to live with seven straight titles.

How so? Both Ohio State and Oklahoma were undefeated and both clearly had a better strength of schedule. The Buckeyes and Sooners were ranked 1 and 2 in both the AP and Coaches poll.

How did they get burned?

Then they started winning over and over again
Only because of media bias putting them there in the first place.

Some of it was inflated.
Much of it was.

I'm sure the next few years we'll be pissed with the top 4 playoff.
Already am, but I'll take it over the mess we have now.

It wasn't the SEC's best year
It was no different this year than any other year.

I guess they'll have to live with seven straight titles.
It helps when the system has been played to your benefit half the time.

Without having looked, I seem to remember more than once when an SEC team was either the only undefeated or one loss team. I wouldn't call that having the system benefiting you.

I will however say how ridiculous the SEC being on top of the preseason rankings time in and time out is though. I still do not understand how you can rate teams when they haven't played a game yet, especially when they've lost and gained several players from the previous season.

The SEC team was ranked #1 going into the game 3 of the 7 times. Times they weren't were 06 Florida (taken over 11-1 UM who already lost to OSU) 07 LSU (where there was a ton of chaos and no undefeated team) 08 Florida (taken over 1 loss USC and undefeated Boise). Then of course 12 Bama (who didn't win their division and had 1 loss Okie. State). Truthfully (aside from the obvious Bama one) the worst one looks like 08 Florida, who lost at home to Ole Miss compared to USC who lost on the road to Oregon State.
